About this game

An auto-battler roguelike gacha where the fight is won before it starts.

Recruit your party, gear them up, and pick your fight from three enemy cards. They swing, cast, and die on their own. Everything that decides the battle happened before you hit start.

Win and you take the gold. Spend it on better gear and more recruits, then face something worse. Fall, and you roll for stronger heroes and march a better party back in.

Build Your Party

Tanks hold the line. Damage dealers tear through. Mages break if you look at them wrong.

  • Six classes: Berserker, Archer, Mage, Healer, Warlock, Knight

  • Synergies scale up to 8 matching recruits

  • Eleven weapons, each with its own ultimate

  • Six rarities, Common to Mythic

Nobody has to play their role

Weapons decide what a hero's ultimate does. Classes decide how they fight. You pick both, and they do not have to match.

  • Berserker + magic staff = spells that lifesteal

  • Knight + longbow = an archer with heavy damage reduction

  • Healer + longsword = a frontliner with boosted healing

Forge Your Arsenal

  • Merge three items to upgrade rarity

  • Imbue crystals for fire, ice, nature, holy, or dark damage

  • Match crystals on armor for resistances

A gacha you pay for with time, not money

  • Gems and remnants are earned by playing, never bought

  • Pull heroes, collect dupes, raise their stars

  • Star powers change how a hero fights

Push Deeper

Enemies get more numerous and more dangerous as you grow. Different compositions demand different answers.

  • Five bosses, each built around its own element

  • MASSIVE skill tree with permanent progression across runs

Built Solo

One developer, obsessed with the genre.

Dev Update: A Tutorial, Beards, and a Week of Fixes

🎓 A guided first run New players were leaving within five minutes, so the demo now walks you through its first run properly. Ten steps that hand you the game one piece at a time: recruit two Berserkers, watch your synergy climb, take a Healer, buy gear, equip it, pick a fightEverything you are not meant to touch yet is dimmed, and the thing you are meant to click is litThe Commander narrates it, typing as he goes, with a blinking caret and a pause at every full stop ⌨️It fires once per save slot, so it will not get in your way on a second run 🧔 Every dwarf has a beard The game is called Beardlandia and my dwarves were clean-shaven. Several of you pointed this out. Fair. Twelve Norse beard shapes, all hand-authored: braided forks, rope twists, square cuts, binding ringsThey roll per dwarf and tint to match, so a party of eight reads as eight individualsThey follow the head properly now, including the death slump, which took longer than the beards themselves did 🧪 Poison reworkPoison now scales off Dexterity, whatever weapon applied itIt used to read whatever stat your main hand happened to declare, so the same poison hit for a different amount depending on what you were holdingThe Toxic Vial had the same problem and never told anyone about it ⚔️ Combat and balance Weapon drops were far too generous. One tester got eight epics in ten fights. Now a 5% chance per kill with a proper rarity spread, chieftains still guaranteed Hjorvan at wave 30 was using the wave 50 boss's stats unchanged. He hit for 1,500 against dwarves with 200 HP. He is now scaled for the wall he actually guards ❄️The 2x speed button is back in the demo, running at a smoother 1.5xEnemies no longer fire item passives, so their gear does what its numbers say and nothing moreEnemy gear stat bonuses now actually apply, which they never did 🌳 Skill tree I audited every one of the 223 nodes to check they actually do something. Two real problems turned up. Arcane Momentum never fired. Fifteen gems of skill t...

Demo Patch 1: Save Protection and a Stack of Fixes

First patch since the demo went out 😁. Most of this came from playing it and finding things that had been broken for weeks without anyone noticing.SavesFixed a bug where every exported build lost all equipped items and inventory on load. The game looks up items by scanning a folder, and an exported build stores those files under a different extension, so the lookup found nothing. It worked perfectly in the editor and failed in every real build, which is exactly why it survived testingFixed a second bug where party members saved before a certain point were dropped entirely on load, taking their gear with them. Those units are now recovered instead of discardedIf a save ever fails to load properly, the game now tells you exactly what was lost, refuses to overwrite the file, and makes a backup first. Previously it loaded whatever survived and quietly saved over the originalRetire Early refuses to bank gems from a damaged save. It reads the total, banks it, then deletes the save, so a bad read would have banked the wrong figure and destroyed the evidenceThe build now refuses to upload unless every save loads whole. This is checked automatically against the actual shipped build, not the editor, which is the thing that would have caught the original bugStorageClicking an item shows its details again. Picking an item up returned early and skipped the line that fills the panel, so the panel had been dead since August 21InventoryEmpty party slots are dimmed so you see the dwarves you actually have. They light up when you drag a recruit, and only for a recruit, since items cannot be dropped there anywayNothing is selected when you open the tab, so the stats panel starts clean instead of silently showing your first dwarf. Clicking to equip with nothing selected now tells you to pick a unit rather than putting the item somewhere you did not chooseFixed scroll fades drawing over an empty stats panel, implying content that was not there. The same fix corrected the fade on a full ...

Dev Update: Weather, VFX, and a Big Systems Pass

Hey everyone! 👋 Another big couple of days! Combat looks and feels noticeably different now, and there's a lot under the hood too. 😃🌨️ Weather in combatBattles have weather now, and it's one of my favorite additions so far.Snow falls on the winter map and leaves drift through the forestThree separate depths, so leaves pass behind the trees and in front of your dwarves at the same timeEvery battle rolls its own weather, anywhere from a gentle drift to a full blizzard ❄️It all lives in the world rather than being painted on the screen, so the camera moves through it as the fight pushes forward✨ Abilities you can actually seeA lot of abilities were doing their job with nothing on screen. That bothered me for a while, so I went through them one by one:Mage Staff 🔥 – now casts a single fireball that falls from the sky and explodes on impact, replacing the old three-orb rotationIce Staff 💠 – fires a comet that streaks across the field and bursts into frostHealing 💚 – shows a green burst, with a bigger one for Greater HealRevive – something finally happens on screen when a hero comes backInvulnerability 🛡️ – a shield and a glow, so you can tell at a glance when a unit can't be hurtCommander's Rally – draws a ring beneath every rallied dwarfShadowstep – leaves a mark where the dagger user vanishes and reappearsBarefist 💥 – his Shockwave finally shows the splash it was always dealing, and he now builds a purple aura that grows through three stages as his attack speed ramps💎 Gems and Remnants are properly separate nowThis one was a real bug and I'm glad it's fixed. They shared a single pool, which meant every gem you earned also handed you a hero pull, and every Remnant also paid for your skill tree. They're two currencies now, earned separately and spent separately, the way they were always meant to be.⚔️ Two losses ends the runOn Normal, losing two battles in a row now ends your runThe first loss keeps the gold penalty and gives you a warningA win resets the streak, so you'...
