About This Game
───────────────
Night falls, and the horde never ends. Your only weapons are a radiant sword, a battle axe, and the survival instincts
you sharpen with every wave.
Night Raider is a 3D top-down Vampire Survivors-inspired survival shooter. Built in Godot 4.5 with the Forward Plus re
nderer, every battle unfolds across detailed 3D arenas—brick floors, breakable barrels, and dynamic lighting that make
s each fight a test of both strategy and spectacle.
Auto-Fire, Focus on Tactics
───────────────────────────
Your character automatically locks onto and fires at the nearest threat. All you control is movement and decision-maki
ng. WASD to dodge, mouse to pick upgrades. Easy to learn, but mastery demands tactical thinking.
20+ Roguelike Skill Builds
──────────────────────────
Every level-up offers a random three-card choice to reshape your run:
• Barrage Branch: Multishot, Fan Spread, Giant Bullet, Double Strike—drown the horde in raw firepower.
• Elemental Destruction: Frost Bolts to slow, Burning Rounds to sear, Explosive Shells for screen-wide clears, and Tox
Clouds that eat away health over time.
• Precision Strikes: Homing bullets that never miss, Pierce rounds that tear through formations, Chain Lightning that
cs between foes, and Critical Hits that shake the camera.
• Survival Layers: Cell Regeneration for passive healing, Thorns Aura to punish attackers, Orbiting Shields for active
efense, and Vampiric Fangs that heal on every kill.
• Power Awakenings: Blood Frenzy, Recoil Burst, Devotion, Amulets of Strength—every pick redefines your playstyle.
A Bestiary of Threats
─────────────────────
Not all enemies charge blindly. You'll face:
• Goblins & War Chariots — endless melee fodder that tests your positioning
• Witches & Shooters — ranged threats that force you to keep moving
• Vampires & Spiders — fast assassins that punish slow reactions
• Giant Elites — scaled-up nightmares that appear as dynamic difficulty ramps up
Dynamic Difficulty & Polished Performance
─────────────────────────────────────────
Enemies don't just flood the screen—they get smarter, faster, and tougher over time. Smart distance culling and a 60-e
nemy cap keep the action smooth even at peak chaos. Rich audio feedback—gunfire, impact crunches, kill confirms, XP ch
imes, and looping footsteps—keeps you immersed without ear fatigue.
3D Visuals & Atmosphere
───────────────────────
Glowing weapons cut through the dark. Bullets and experience gems emit dynamic point lights that paint the battlefield
. Procedural brick shaders, PBR materials, and death dissolve animations built with Tweens add a layer of polish you c
an feel.

NIGHT RAIDER — v0.9.3 Update Announcement
> **Update goes live: July 31, 2026**Players, v0.9.3 is now live! This update focuses on audiovisual polish and combat feedback, featuring a redesigned main-menu title, dedicated boss battle music, and significantly improved grass coverage in the forest scene.---## 1. Main Menu Visual & Audio Refresh- The main-menu title has been replaced with a new logo: the Chinese characters "夜袭者" remain red, while "NIGHT RAIDER" is now shown in white, keeping the signature red breathing glow effect.- Fixed an issue where the main-menu BGM occasionally failed to play; the menu music should now be audible when entering the game.## 2. Boss Battle Music- The **Demon boss fight** now plays its dedicated battle theme, `恶魔boss战音乐.mp3`.- The **Fallen Knight boss fight** now plays its dedicated battle theme, `战败骑士boss战音乐.mp3`.- Music fades out smoothly after a boss is defeated, transitioning back to the stage flow.## 3. Forest Grass Improvements- Grass in the first forest stage now spreads **across the entire map**, including the center and tree-line edges, forming large grassy patches.- Reduced saturation and brightness of the `grass.glb` texture so the grass blends better with the forest atmosphere.- Fine-tuned central grass density to avoid overcrowding the player's view.## 4. XP Gem Pickup Sound Differentiation- Regular enemies still drop XP gems with the classic `exp+` pickup sound.- **Elite, corrupted enemies, and bosses** now drop high-value XP gems with the heavier `蓝色奖励方块` sound, making it easier to spot valuable pickups.---Thank you for your support and feedback. We're still hard at work on the next milestone.---*The NIGHT RAIDER Dev Team*Read full article on Community Announcements (zittea)Patch NotesOfficial

Visual Fixes - **Meteor shower orientation fixed**: Corrected the meteor shower streaks that were appearing horizontal; meteors now fall along the proper vertical/diagonal trajectory. --- *The NIGHT RAIDER Dev Team*Read full article on Community Announcements (zittea)Patch NotesOfficial
# NIGHT RAIDER — v0.9 "Balance & Glory" Update Announcement
> **Update goes live: July 25, 2026**> "Achievable with effort. Never easy. Deeply rewarding."Hunters, the war against the night is entering a new phase. v0.9 is a major update built around **game feel, numbers, and glory** — a full status-effect rework, a data-driven balance pipeline, and the long-awaited achievement system.---## 1. Status Effects Reworked: Every Hit CountsStatus procs are no longer dice rolls. A new **buildup meter** governs every ailment — hits fill the meter, and the effect triggers when it's full. The tempo is entirely in your hands:- **Burn**: Sustained fire attacks ignite enemies after 2–3 seconds; burn lasts 3.5 seconds. Frost buildup interrupts fire buildup — ice and fire no longer mix, and your build must choose. The Flame synergy's detonation damage has been raised above poison, making fire builds fully viable.- **Poison**: Every hit adds buildup, stacking to full in about 5 seconds. The sound effect now plays only when poison actually triggers — no more noise.- **Freeze**: Fill the meter to freeze instantly. The frost bullet sound likewise plays only on a real freeze.- **Bleed**: Enemies no longer turn red — only blood-spray particles remain. All ailments now follow one rule: **no body recolor, particles only**, keeping the battlefield readable.- **Dragon Breath**: The random proc is gone. It now **always ignites**.## 2. New Skill: Curse BulletA violet-flamed skull tears across the field, piercing up to 5 enemies before detonating: victims are afflicted with **Curse** — +35% damage taken for 5 seconds. Cursed enemies wreathe in purple smoke and sparks, the perfect opener for melting elites.## 3. The Balance Pipeline: An Invisible ScalpelAll tuning is graduating from hand-tweaked numbers to a **data-driven balance workflow**:- Characters, enemies, items, and skills are fully quantified, calibrated stage by stage against five models: DPS, effective HP, enemy threat index, stage pressure, and time-to-kill (TTK).- Our experience-curve promis...Read full article on Community Announcements (zittea)Patch NotesOfficial
