About this game

Prison Chain: The Unredeemed Thought is a text-driven psychological horror visual novel. No complex mechanics, no combat, no puzzles—just words, choices, and the self you must face.

Story

You wake up in a strange living room. The back of your head throbs. There’s a metallic taste in your mouth. On the coffee table sits half a glass of water with a pink lipstick stain on its rim. In a framed photo on the wall, one woman’s face has been erased.

A silent man stands in the corner. His name is Alex. Another stands by the window. His name is David.

On the wall, written in blood:

“Confess your sins, and you shall be redeemed.”

You don’t know why you’re here. You don’t know who they are. But every choice brings you closer to the truth—and closer to the abyss.

Gameplay

Make choices that affect each character’s “Sin Value”

Collect clues scattered in the room to piece together the truth

8 different endings, from redemption to eternal darkness

Features

Text-driven, no jump scares — focuses on psychological dread and moral weight

Base game contains over 80,000 words

4 standalone character DLCs available (Gu Qingnian, Alex, David, Carl)

Created by a 15-year-old solo developer “Luomeixu” (script, code, art coordination, sound)

About the Developer

I’m Luomeixu, a regular student and the sole developer of this game. From script to code, from art to sound — no team, no studio, just an old computer and countless late nights.

This game is my understanding of crime and punishment. It’s not here to scare you with cheap tricks. It’s here to make you think, after the final page, about the things you might have run away from.

Thank you for playing my game.

DLC Chapters

If You Ever Remember Me – Gu Qingnian Chapter

Deception – Alex Chapter

Rage – David Chapter

Cowardice – Carl Chapter

Each is a standalone prequel story about the lives these characters lived before they walked into that living room.

The demo for Prison Chain: The Unredeemed Thought has been submitted to Steam for review, and I just graduated. Two things colliding in one month—I just want to talk about the act of making games itself.

Hi everyone, I'm Luomeixu. The demo for Prison Chain has been submitted to Steam for review. And I just graduated. Both of these happened in the same June, and I still haven't fully processed it. So this isn't a development update or a patch log—it's just a conversation. I want to talk about the act of making Prison Chain itself. Visual novels are a genre that requires trust. The person who opens it needs to believe first that "this developer is willing to tell a good story" before they can sit down and read those words. I don't know if I've earned that trust yet. But I want you to know: every line of text, every choice, every ending—I took them all seriously. The most wonderful thing about making games is this: you never know who will read what you wrote on the other side of the screen. You never know who might stop for a moment late at night because of one sentence in the game. That itself is a kind of trust—you turn your ideas into a game, then hand that game to a stranger, trusting that they'll be willing to step inside. The demo for Prison Chain is in review now. As soon as it's approved, I'll let you know. It's not big—just a slice. But it's the best slice I could offer. Thank you to everyone who clicked in and read these words. — Luomeixu
