About this game
Catacomb is a hardcore, melee-focused FPS roguelike inspired by the greats of the early 2000's. Using only your wits, your blade, and over 40 unique artifacts, hack and slash your way back to the surface and earn your freedom.
COMBAT
Catacomb features 5 weapons, with more coming:
Shortsword - a basic but balanced melee option, able to parry enemy attacks
Dagger - Weak for direct combat, but backstabs make stealth viable
Crossbow - A ranged dominator with limited ammo
Greatsword - Devastating, sweeping blows but lost mobility
Tomahawks - Throwing axes that bounce off enemies and walls Coming soon!
Alongside these options, you can also punch, kick, stomp, and ram through enemies (with the right artifact, of course.)
EXPLORATION
Catacomb will feature 4 unique areas, each with their own loot pools and varied areas to traverse through.
Currently, Area 1 is complete:
THE CRYPT
The first step on your climb to the surface, and the darkest. Dingy, stone-brick halls, walls caving in on themselves, and crawling with ghouls and skeletons.
ARTIFACTS
Artifacts are the building blocks that shape your run: They can augment your body, give you new abilities, and some can even alter the world around you. Choose wisely; though, almost all of them have drawbacks.

Catacomb's free playtest is now available!
"You're finally awake... Perfect."For the next 2 weeks, Catacomb is available for free in a public playtest! The purpose of this playtest is to iron out the last of the bugs the game may have before release, and sneaking in any small features people may want to see in the game on release. Please play through it, and try to break the game as much as possible. What to expect in this playtest:The game has about 30 of the 40 artifacts planned on launch, and some map features aren't fully fleshed out yet. Other than that, the game has all of the features planned for its release sometime next month. A full run of the Crypt usually takes me around 20 minutes, but that's after plenty of deaths, so the full playtime equates out to a few hours. What I want from you:Post Steam discussions or join the discord to tell me what you think! What bugs do I need to fix? What do you want to see in the game when it releases in Early Access this winter? Also, please tell your friends about the playtest! The more feedback I can get, the better. That's all for now! I'll see you next time.-ArthurRead full article on Community Announcements (kingarthur)
