About this game
A hole, and the people who make it home.
Bobbitz is a warm, slow-burn colony sim that lives underground. You start with one little burrower and a wall of dirt. You end with a glowing town, homes, halls, a cinema, a lantern festival lighting up the night.
If you love the idea of Oxygen Not Included or RimWorld but bounce off the stress, the starving, and the dying, this is that feeling, cozied all the way down.
You give the orders. They do the work.
You never swing a pick yourself. You mark what you want dug and the Bobbitz dig it. You post a room and they build it, furnish it, and move in. Watching a plan become a home you didn't lift a finger for is the whole feeling of the game.
No death. No fail states. Nothing is ever taken from you.
There's no starving, no game-over, no timer counting down your progress. A hard day is just a slower day. Bobbitz is a place to potter, not a place to lose.
Grow the Burrow Tree.
Every room, tool, job and comfort unlocks on a branching tree you grow at your own pace, from your first bunk to drills, farms, factories, classrooms and grand halls. Start with bare dirt and end with a proper little civilization.
Little lives, quietly unfolding.
Your Bobbitz pair off, raise families, keep pets, throw lantern festivals, and settle into the homes you build them. It's a colony that feels lived-in, not managed.
And far below, something is waiting.
The deeper you dig, the more you'll wonder what's down there, and why you were sent. But that's a story for later. For now: dig, build, and make a home.

Build 437
Build 437 SAVES Saves now write as separate files instead of one database. If one file goes bad the rest still load. Steam Cloud has been repointed at the new folder. Load your burrow and save once after updating so your cloud backup fills in. FIXES The Cinema node now shows all its requirements, and the locked message tells you what you are missing. "All the Way Down" was impossible to earn. It works now. Fullscreen stays on between sessions, and the settings label matches what is actually happening. Escape now cancels the build mode you are in instead of opening the pause menu. The mode badge was hiding behind four different HUD elements. It moves out of the way now. Haulers no longer stand around doing nothing. They pick up mess. The warehouse cost strip was lying about the price. It reads 14 Dirt and 6 Clay, which is what it always cost. The Mayor's sash was drawn across his face and his hat floated above his head. Both fixed. BUILD MENU The old block menu is back. A few of you said the radial wheel was hard to find things in, and you were right. Room star nodes have clearer names in the tree. PIPES Diagonal drags lay working pipe instead of dead pipe. Z un-lays what you just placed. TUBES Tube routing reaches further before it gives up. Some routes that used to refuse now connect. Long drags that stop short are still a known problem. I am working on it next, and the stub will tell you why it stopped. Keep the reports coming on the discussion board. The oldest ones are next on my list.Read full article on Community Announcements (Indie Katana)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch Note 434
Fixed Tech tree items only ever showed one of their requirements, so things like the Cinema looked unlockable when they weren't. Every requirement is now drawn, and the locked message tells you exactly which one you're missing. "All the Way Down" could never unlock. It now unlocks when you dig to the bottom. The game opens in fullscreen again. Escape now cancels build, tube, pipe and demolish modes instead of opening the pause menu. The fullscreen setting in Settings showed "off" while the game was fullscreen, and turning it on could hand Escape back to Windows. Both fixed. Mode indicators no longer get hidden behind the key card, the mayor panel, the heat legend or the save buttons. Fixed diagonal pipe runs where parts of the line weren't carrying water, and Z now correctly un-lays pipes and restores erased ones. Build 430 is live
Build 430. The big one. This update rebuilds three core systems based on your feedback. Thanks for all of it. Keep it coming. New Build Wheel The old build tray is gone. Press B or right click to open the new radial build menu. Everything lives in five groups: Build Amenities Mining Rigs Utilities Decoration Hover a group and it opens on its own. No more hunting through a bar of tiny icons. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46221536/3a6f348177b9f1236ba5a609b3424cb8ee7ec3a5.png Your orders matter now Rooms finish in the order you place them. First ordered, first built. Diggers no longer wander off mid job. When a digger takes a break you see a small pause badge, so nobody looks stuck. Tubes got smart The tube line you draw is the tube you get. A tube that hits a dead end now connects to the nearest tunnel instead of wrapping around half the map. Drag straight down a shaft and it becomes a rail. With Hyper Tubes grown, long runs move Bobbitz 6x faster. Tubes now have proper corner pieces. Crews can walk inside a finished section to keep building the rest, so long runs actually finish. Water works Pipes need a real source. Run them from a faucet to a tank, or straight to your farms. Branch new pipes off existing ones. Shift drag to erase, Z to undo. The burrow owns one watering can, so big farms need real plumbing. Thirsty planters droop, then bounce back once watered. Performance The Steam build now uses your GPU properly. If the game felt capped around 30 FPS before, this should be night and day. I also cut a lot of wasted rendering underground and at high zoom. Fixes Stalled diggers Silent tube refusals Stray tube cells left behind on refused orders Wrong tree descriptions A pile of smaller things If something in here breaks for you, tell me in the discussions and I will look at it. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46221536/88dd9b511455b845cbe14c7c6e7189203a2237c8.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (Indie Katana)Patch NotesOfficial
Update Notes 8th Aug : Warehouse fix
Fixes - Placing a Warehouse no longer breaks the screen. Holding a Warehouse blueprint over the ground made the picture flicker, and after placing it the world could slide away and leave a flat, empty-looking screen until you alt-tabbed. - The bed no longer sticks out of a room blueprint. When you held a Room blueprint, the outline was drawn one tile too narrow, so the bed appeared to sit outside the room. The outline now matches the room that will actually be built. - The build bar is the right size again. When you picked something to place, the little bar at the bottom stretched most of the way across the screen. Changes - Turbo is off by default again. Turbo is the faster renderer. It was on by default last build, which made the Warehouse problem much more obvious. It's still there and still faster — turn it on with F8, or Settings → RendererRead full article on Community Announcements (Indie Katana)AnnouncementsOfficial
Bobbitz is out
Bobbitz is out now, with a launch discount for the first two weeks. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46221536/e66d22f83673ad8a66f3df21838a27c4279a7c32.gif Paint a room, the little guys carve it out, furnish it, and one of them moves in. No death, no fail states, no timer. Build the town you feel like building. If you play it and it clicks, a review helps this game more than anything else you could do for it. The first handful of reviews decide whether Steam shows it to anybody. I will be reading everything in the discussions today. If something is broken, tell me and I will fix it.Read full article on Community Announcements (saulat)
