About this game

Ticker Panic is a chaotic stock trading game where fake companies, absurd headlines, other traders, and your own orders can move the market.

Start with a small account, read the charts, react to breaking news, and try to grow your portfolio without panic-selling directly into your own regret.

Trade Through Market Chaos

Stocks do not all behave the same. Some drift steadily, some swing wildly, and some are only one bad headline away from feeling personal.

Learn how each stock reacts, watch the market mood, and decide whether the current move is an opportunity, a trap, or the start of something worse.

Trade Against More Than a Chart

The market is not just a line moving up and down. Other traders are buying, selling, chasing hype, losing confidence, and adding pressure to the same stocks you are trying to trade.

Thin liquidity, limited supply, and large orders can turn a winning position into an exit problem. Sometimes the question is not only whether a stock will move. It is whether enough buyers or sellers are still there when you need them.

Events You Can Act On

Market events can shift momentum, increase volatility, change sector behavior, and turn a safe-looking trade into a problem.

Read the news, follow ticker highlights, check the chart, and decide whether the market is overreacting or whether you are about to become the overreaction.

Built Around Readable Panic

Ticker Panic is built around readable charts, quick trade controls, visible portfolio feedback, event cards, watchlists, stock profiles, heat maps, and ledger views that help you understand what just happened.

You will still make bad decisions. They will just be easier to understand afterward.

    2,000 Wishlists — Thank You! Here’s What’s New

Ticker Panic has passed 2,000 wishlists on Steam.Thank you to everyone who wishlisted the game. Reaching this milestone shows that there is real demand for this kind of fast, chaotic market game—and raises the standard for what Ticker Panic needs to become. The last major development update centered on v0.5.6 and the foundation beneath market clearing. Since then, nearly every part of the game has moved forward: how you place orders, how you read the market, how assets influence one another, how quickly the interface responds, and how a new player learns to survive the first day. Here is what has changed over the last 5 weeks.More Ways to Trade — and More Ways to Regret ItThe order system has grown far beyond immediate Buy and Sell buttons. You can now create multiple Stop and Target orders for the same position, set each one by percentage or exact share count, pause and re-arm individual orders, and manage them from a compact Pending Orders view. Orders persist with your run, and triggered Stops and Targets appear clearly in the Ledger. The trade ticket has also been rebuilt around one consistent flow for size, price, attached exits, and final Buy or Sell actions. Most importantly, Limit and Stop Limit orders execute through the real market simulation. They use the same available depth, partial fills, and slippage rules as ordinary trades. A limit price can protect you from a terrible fill, but it cannot force the market to take the other side. The market remains under no obligation to cooperate.A Much Better Trading DashboardThe dashboard has received its largest presentation pass so far.The stock list now has dedicated All, Holdings, and Watchlist views, persistent watch stars, tighter category groups, and clearer selection states. The bottom Market Events area is now a readable horizontal card strip with ticker highlighting, grouped duplicate stories, direct stock navigation, and a separate detail action. There is also a complete Market Events & Catalysts archive for d...

    The Market Has Numbers Now

The last update was all about making Ticker Panic look and feel more like a real trading terminal: the ticker strip, better chart presentation, a cleaner selected-stock panel, stronger red/green market movement, and a dashboard that felt less like a prototype and more like a place where bad decisions can become very expensive.Since then, the work has moved into something much bigger:The market is no longer just a set of price lines.Stocks now have more structure behind them. They have personality. They have liquidity. They have float. They have trade impact. They can become crowded, thin, stressed, overhyped, fragile, or suspiciously dangerous. In other words: the chart was fine until you touched it.Stocks now have personalitiesOne of the biggest changes is that stocks are starting to behave less like identical tickers with different names. Each stock can now carry its own behavior profile: volatility, liquidity, drift, mean reversion, sector/category bias, hype sensitivity, panic sensitivity, and event sensitivity. That means a stable fund, a speculative growth name, a meme stock, and a tiny penny stock should no longer feel like the same chart wearing different sunglasses. Some stocks are calmer. Some overreact to hype. Some are fragile during panic. Some attract weirder headlines. Some are liquid enough that your trades barely matter. Others are thin enough that your account starts becoming part of the problem. The goal is simple: players should eventually recognize stocks by behavior, not just by ticker. There are real numbers behind each stock nowTicker Panic is also moving toward a more grounded company and market-data layer. The design goal is not to become an accounting simulator. Nobody is asking you to read a fake 10-K before panic-buying a snack company. But the stocks should feel like they have actual financial identities behind them. That means the game is building toward useful, readable stock data like:market caprevenuenet incomeEPSP/E ratiogrowth ratingqual...
