About this game
CARDED: Groups to Glory is a single-player football card roguelite where you take charge of a fictional international squad and try to guide them through a full tournament run.
Choose your nation, build your starting XI, develop your players, improve your tactical setup, and make the decisions that decide whether your team crashes out early or chases glory. Every run gives you a new path to explore, with card-based rewards, football dilemmas, training choices, match results, nation unlocks, manager progression, and long-term replayability shaping your journey.
Original Mode
In Original Mode, each nation follows a hand-built campaign path inspired by the real journey of international teams: preparation matches, qualification pressure, group-stage football, knockout rounds, and the final push toward glory.
Different nations have different squads, starting tactics, challenges, and expectations. A powerhouse nation may be expected to dominate, while an underdog run is about survival, smart upgrades, and finding every possible advantage.
Build Your Squad
Your players are represented as football cards. Each player has a position, rating, rarity, portrait, and football attributes including Technique, Vision, Composure, Anticipation, Speed, Flair, Work Rate, and Physical.
Improve players across the run by earning and applying development rewards. Strengthen weak positions, build around your best performers, and turn a shaky starting XI into a squad capable of surviving tougher opponents.
The more you play, the more you can experiment with different squad builds. You might create a technically gifted midfield, a fast attacking side, a physical defensive team, or a balanced squad that can adapt to every stage of the campaign.
Shape Your Tactical System
Your active tactic affects which attributes matter most during matches. Build around different tactical styles such as possession play, wing play, counter attacking, pressing, direct football, defensive systems, and more.
Tactics can be improved during a run, allowing your system to grow alongside your squad. The strongest team is not always the one with the highest ratings — it is the one that fits the way you want to play.
Every nation gives you a reason to explore the tactical system differently. Some squads may suit a patient possession style, while others may need to rely on speed, pressure, defensive structure, or direct football.
Play Through a Card-Driven Campaign Loop
Each run follows a repeating campaign loop:
Prepare your squad.
Make a key football decision.
Train or manage your players.
Handle press questions and team dilemmas.
Play the next match.
Earn card-based rewards.
Improve your squad before the next fixture.
Every decision pushes the run in a different direction. You might focus on player development, protect squad condition, chase tactical upgrades, manage pressure, or take risks for bigger rewards.
Resolve Matches Through Visible Calculations
Matches are resolved through a visible performance system. Your tactic, tactic level, player attributes, squad sharpness, coaches, and other run modifiers all contribute to how your team performs.
After each match, you can review the result, inspect the calculation breakdown, and decide what needs to improve before the next fixture.
This makes each run easier to understand, but harder to master. You can see where your team succeeded, where it failed, and what you may want to change next time.
Manage Fitness, Sharpness, Pressure, and Squad Decisions
Winning a tournament run is not just about raw player ratings. You also need to manage your squad between matches.
Training can improve your players, but higher-intensity sessions can cost fitness. Sharpness can influence how ready your team is to perform. Pressure and morale shape the decisions and risks you face throughout the campaign.
Every choice is about improving your squad without leaving it exposed for the next match.
Earn Rewards and Build Your Run
After matches and key moments, you receive card-based rewards that help shape the rest of your campaign. Rewards can include player development cards, tactic improvements, coaches, and other upgrades that change how your squad grows.
A run might become a disciplined defensive campaign, a high-pressure pressing side, a possession-focused technical team, or something completely different depending on the cards and choices you make.
Because rewards, choices, match results, and squad needs can change from run to run, replayability comes from exploring different builds rather than following one perfect path.
Unlock Nations and Level Up Your Manager
Progress continues beyond a single run. Unlock up to 48 fictional international nations and take on new tournament paths with different squads, tactics, and challenges.
Your manager profile also levels up with every run, giving you long-term progression as you play, improve, and chase better results.
Unlocking more nations gives you more ways to explore the game’s systems. Some teams are built to win now, some need careful development, and some challenge you to drag an underdog further than expected.
Original Curated Soundtrack
CARDED: Groups to Glory features an original curated soundtrack built around the tension and rhythm of an international football campaign.
The music is designed to support the flow of a run: preparation, pressure, decision-making, match momentum, and the chase for knockout-stage glory.
Chase Glory Again and Again
Your goal is to take your nation from early fixtures through harder stages of the campaign and push as far as possible. Survive each phase, improve your squad, and chase a higher score with every attempt.
Replayability comes from exploring different nations, tactical styles, player upgrades, reward paths, and campaign decisions. One run might be about building around a star player, another might be about rescuing a weak squad, and another might be about finding the perfect tactical setup for an unexpected underdog.
CARDED: Groups to Glory is designed for players who enjoy football, card-based progression, tactical decisions, squad building, visible calculations, and repeatable roguelite runs.
Develop players. Shape the system. Manage the pressure. Chase glory.

CARDED: Groups to Glory — Update 1.2.1 Available Now
Update 1.2.1 Available Now Update 1.2.1 is now live for CARDED: Groups to Glory. This update focuses on progression reliability, tournament integrity, reward flow and several major issues that could interrupt or distort a run. Update 1.2.1 improves qualification logic, repairs knockout progression and Performance Needed scaling, completes the visual knockout bracket, reworks Tactic rewards and strengthens save recovery across several important systems. Run Progression Improvements Mathematical Qualification Elimination Qualification campaigns now end as soon as it becomes mathematically impossible to reach the required points total. The game now tracks: current qualification points the active path’s required points qualifying fixtures played qualifying fixtures remaining the maximum number of points still available A run remains active while the required points total can still be reached exactly. Once qualification becomes impossible, the eliminating Match Result is still shown before the run proceeds directly to the Failed to Qualify screen. The game will no longer continue into unnecessary: Match Rewards Events Training Training Cards Press Conferences additional qualifying fixtures after the campaign has already been mathematically eliminated. Qualification Tracking Corrections Qualification points, targets and remaining fixtures now use one authoritative path-specific calculation. This corrects cases where: later qualifying fixtures were assigned to misleading internal stage slots earned points were displayed as zero at the end of a run the failure screen used a different target from the Run Checkpoint structured run information reported a different required-points total a failed campaign continued for several fixtures after qualification was already impossible The Failed to Qualify screen now displays the correct points earned and the correct target for the active regional path. CARDED: Groups to Glory — Update 1.2 Available Now
Update 1.2 Available Now Update 1.2 is now live for CARDED: Groups to Glory. This is one of the game’s biggest updates so far, focused on improving presentation, feedback, usability and stability across almost every part of a run. Update 1.2 introduces new ways to manage and assign cards, completely reworks active coach management, expands Run Information, rebuilds Match Preview and adds a major audio and tutorial pass. New Features Random All and Balance All Added two new options for assigning Training Cards. Random All assigns every remaining card to an independently selected random player. Balance All assigns each remaining card to the player with the current lowest Overall rating. The lowest-rated player is recalculated after every assignment, allowing the cards to gradually balance the squad rather than selecting one player at the beginning. Both options support: Random All and Balance All now use dynamic presentation acceleration. Small card batches remain at normal speed, while large batches automatically accelerate their animations and sounds so the complete sequence takes no more than approximately seven seconds. Each successful assignment receives its own card feedback before a final completion sound. Active Coach Management Active coaches can now be directly managed from the main squad screen. You can now click an active coach to Scrap them into Attribute Cards. The number of cards generated depends on the coach’s rarity: Grassroots coaches produce the smallest return Licensed and Professional coaches produce stronger returns World Class and Icon coaches produce the largest returns Scrapping a coach uses a confirmation screen and preserves the generated cards through assignment, saving and reloading. Active coaches can also be reordered by dragging and dropping them between staff slots. Coach order, Enhanced status and complete coach-effect data are now preserved correctly after reordering and saving. Empty staff positions now display clearer placeholders...Read full article on Community Announcements (TheKingTaco)Patch NotesOfficial
