Characters
Meet Nick!
Nick is a 23-year-old manga artist living alone in a foreign country. Some might see him as a broke, depressed, and probably clinically insane loser; but that would be a rather shallow point of view. Nick is a talented mangaka with a lot of potential, but at the moment, he's clearly going through some stuff.
Nick also has an embarrassing secret he would never tell anyone.
Meet Nick’s Secret!
This cute girl is Nick’s best friend. It doesn’t matter that nobody else can see her!
During an especially weird period in his life, Nick creates her in his mind, and you, the player, are going to help him! Give her a name, choose her an outfit for the day; she’s here for your eyes only! And for Nick’s, of course.
But what is she, really? A hallucination, a ghost from the past, or an interdimensional being? What happens if she grows too attached? Does she like ice cream? There's only one way to find out.

Tulpa the Unseen Lover is a psychological visual novel about a depressed manga artist manifesting a cute, ominous anime girl made by former Spider-Verse animators
It's very rare that I'm not thinking about the works of Satoshi Kon (pop on Tokyo Godfathers this Christmas, you won't regret it), but the one that I always come back to is Opus. It's a manga the director made in the mid '90s that he ultimately never finished before his death, following a manga artist who gets sucked into his own creation and forced to deal with the consequences of his writing. Tulpa the Unseen Lover, a psychological visual novel made by former Spider-Verse animators, is sort of like that, only in this case it's about a manga creator bringing an anime girl to life in his mind.
