Six players, one tarot deck, and a room lit by candles. Everyone at the table swears they know how the night ends. Most of them are wrong. A trick-taking card game of nerve and quiet arithmetic for 2–6 players online — or one player against the machines.

About this game

Everyone at this table has made a promise

Candles. A worn tarot deck. Five faces you can't quite read, and one you're working very hard to keep still.

Before a single card falls, every player says out loud what they believe is going to happen. The rest of the night is spent finding out who was lying — to the table, or to themselves.

Confidence is the currency here

Spend it too freely and you'll be paying it back for the rest of the evening. Hold onto it too tightly and you'll watch someone bolder walk off with everything.

The safest promise is always the hardest one to keep.

There is a card in this deck you'll learn to fear

It answers to no suit. It bows to nothing. It can end a hand with a flick of the wrist — and it sits just as comfortably in someone else's hand as in yours.

Pull up a chair

Friends scattered across the world, a room full of players on one network, or a quiet table at 2am with only the machines for company.

The machines have been practising.

The deck remembers

Painterly tarot faces, a room lit low, and a table that keeps count of every promise you've broken.

2–6 players. Online, LAN, or solo. English, Ukrainian, German, Italian and French. Plays comfortably on Steam Deck.

    Update 1.1.4

Several rules now read the way they actually play. The table is clearer about whose turn it is. Handheld controls keep their hands to themselves during bidding. A few cards have been returned to the correct palette. One of them is taking it personally. Assorted wording, layout and reliability fixes throughout.

Trickster: The Fool's Wager is out — and it's Ukrainian Games Festival week

Six players, one tarot deck, and a room lit by candles. Trickster is a trick-taking card game where you announce, out loud, how many tricks you intend to win — and then have to live with it. Land the bid exactly and every trick pays ten times over. Take one too many and a thirty-point hand collapses to four. Take one too few and you go into debt. The whole table watches you decide. It's out now on Windows, macOS and Linux, cross-play in one build: Solo — deal a full six-seat table against AI across four difficulty tiers Online — private tables for 2–6 via a 6-character room code; drop out and a bot holds your seat until you come back LAN — no account, no server, no internet Tarot Mode — the 22 Major Arcana enter the deck, and each one breaks a rule the game just spent nine rounds teaching you 45 achievements, full controller support, five languages (EN / UK / DE / IT / FR) This is my first game. I built it alone, and it's out during the Ukrainian Games Festival (17–24 August). If you play this week and have a minute, an honest Steam review — positive or negative — is the single most useful thing you can do for it. — Maksym
