About this game
Somewhere underground in the modern era, the most popular "game" has never been about fair competition, but about who dares to lie more, and who can flip the table at the last second. Forced to sit at the card table for survival and prestige — every round is a life-or-death battle of deception.
Truth, lies, and that split second of doubt.
Core loop: Here's the English translation of the game sequence:
Announce the number both sides will play → Play cards face down → Challenge the truth → Play again, until one player runs out of cards and deals final damage. You can play truthfully with real cards, or bluff with fake ones — but if your opponent challenges, the card is revealed, and the liar pays the price.
Roguelike: Win a round, live a few more days.
The cost of defeat is fatal, while victory grants you enhancements — whether skills, card upgrades, or other interesting boons. Each win gives you a brief respite, during which you can visit shops, enter taverns, encounter random events, or even explore some unknown underground place... but time slips away quickly, and soon you must face the next battle.
Enemies lie, have their own playing habits, and their own stories.
As the game progresses, you'll encounter increasingly stronger enemies with distinct mechanics:
You'll meet a wizard's apprentice who can see through cards, a blood-wasting patient who self-destructs after death; a suspicious little cheater, and a cautious seared‑mark emissary. Face different enemies, experience different psychological games, and try to defeat them.
As you play, you'll uncover the stories behind these enemies — and, if possible, your own story.
Perfect for you if:
- You enjoy bluffing / poker‑style psychological gameplay.
- You want short, high‑density decision‑making rounds combined with roguelike progression.
- You're a technical player willing to iterate through information, challenge, and deck‑building.

Liar's Table is undergoing a major iterative update!
The demo of Liar's Table is now live. However, as an early version of the game, it still has significant gaps in content—especially in card combos, skill-set combinations, and some basic workflows—that leave plenty of room for iteration. The developers are aware of these issues and are planning to address the pain points with optimizations and solutions. To that end, a major round of re-iteration is underway: this will include optimizations to the core gameplay, the introduction of a character system (which will create more combos and give players clearer direction), new scenes, animation updates, and much more. In short, compared to the current demo, the game's content is set to make a qualitative leap forward! Not all of the planned new content is finished yet, but here are some preview images showing what has already changed:Character selection via a wheel + morality traits combine to form a complete character! Can you guess what playstyle the character in the image represents?Cards now feature richer effects and more diverse functionalities!New scene: Yes, you can now take on bounty missions! And there are many more new scenes like this one.The developers are fully committed to researching new content and more efficient workflows, with the goal of making the game even more fun. We apologize, but due to the extensive changes, the old save system will most likely no longer be compatible—please take note of this.Read full article on Community Announcements (神明)
