About this game
Project: Roaring Citadel is a 2.5D high-freedom side-scrolling open-world wasteland survival single-player game.
Featuring unique procedural generation, every new game drops you into a brand-new world. The endless, seamlessly connected Sea of Ruins unfolds a vast landscape for your exclusive adventure.

You crash-land here from an ancient starship, struggling to survive in the brutal wasteland.
The game features a light main storyline and non-linear narrative design. you will gradually uncover the truth of this world and grasp the rules of survival in the chaotic era through exploration and interaction.

Awakening alone on this barren land, you are free to shape your character however you wish. You can choose to be a lone wolf and a solitary hunter, or recruit companions, build a tribe, and stand together to face the relentless survival crises ahead.

Mix and match various types of armor, and hand-craft weapons with distinct styles. Whether it's melee combat, long-range sniping, dual-wielding rapid attacks, or unleashing heavy firepower, your combat style is entirely dictated by your assembly strategy.

Tame exotic beasts to form caravans, and assemble multi-functional vehicles to drastically boost your transport and combat capabilities. Divide your forces into light combat riders and heavy cargo trucks to build tribe convoys. Furthermore, you can piece together building components, stacking shelters to create a mobile citadel roaming across the wilderness.

As you and your tribe grow steadily stronger, the fate of struggling against the tide of evolution will eventually come — Only fighting unto death grants you a slim chance at survival.

Project: Roaring Citadel Steam Store Page Is Now Live
This is a solo indie game I've been working on full-time for years—so many years, in fact, that I'm almost embarrassed to say exactly how long😅.It's finally reached a point where I feel comfortable showing it to the world. The Steam store page is now live, and I would be incredibly grateful if you could add it to your wishlist.Project: Roaring Citadel is a 2.5D, high-freedom side-scrolling roguelike and seamless open-world wasteland survival game... a strange, wondrous world filled with beasts, mechs, and mobile citadels. Although the game features a light main storyline and non-linear narrative, the core theme set at the very beginning remains: the protagonist and his companions will eventually embark on a journey to defy the Tide of Evolution.Back then, AI wasn't nearly as powerful as it is today; powerful enough that I can no longer feel at ease spending two weeks hand-drawing a starship🤭. I never thought the era of hand-crafting games would collapse right as we were in the middle of making one.I wonder what emotions the protagonist will feel when confronting the Tide of Evolution of the wasteland world😏?Project: Roaring Citadel will stick to completing core content using traditional methods. It's not out of stubbornness, but because the current state of the game is simply no longer suitable for large-scale AI integration. The game is planned for release in 2027. Thank you for your patience and support!😁Read full article on Community Announcements (CyfallStudio)
