About this game

WACKYTOWN

A wave-defense game that respects your time and aggressively disrespects your dignity.

Survive 14 waves of escalating absurdity. Soft little things at first — basic enemies that walk in a line and die when shot. Then it gets worse. By wave 7 you're freezing teleporting jesters mid-spawn while a phase boss takes your base apart on the other side of the screen. By wave 14 you've spent $20,000 on a piercing upgrade and you still aren't sure if it was worth it.

WHAT'S IN THE BOX

- 14 hand-tuned waves with a real ending — not a roguelike, not an infinite-survival hamster wheel. You beat it or you don't.

- 25+ enemy types: speedsters, tanks, jesters, vampires, freezers, splitters, ghosts, and four named bosses.

- 20+ upgrades. Buy whatever's funny. Lifesteal AND thorns is a build. Crit chance AND knockback is a build. Regret is also a build.

- Online 2-player co-op via Steam friends. Host a room, send an invite through the Steam overlay, your friend joins instantly.

- A multiplayer "Play as Enemies" mode where one player swaps roles with the wave manager. Buy enemies with coins, spawn them at the worst possible moment, and try to kill your friend.

- Four difficulties: Easy / Normal / Hard / Impossible. Impossible has a 3x HP multiplier and an achievement titled "Walked Through Hell." It is not a metaphor.

- 56 real achievements. 5 fake ones. You'll know which is which.

- Meta-progression: Wacky Coins + Account XP across runs, unlock cosmetics from a 22-item shop (skins, bullet trails, kill effects, victory dances), and dig into a 25-entry lore codex.

- A 50-tier seasonal Battle Pass with a free track for everyone and a premium track for the obsessed. New season every 90 days.

- Leaderboards for highest wave, fastest wave-14 clear, and the daily run (everyone gets the same seed for the same day).

DEFEND. DESTROY. SURVIVE.

Wackytown is a small, tightly-tuned 14-wave run made by Wackytown. Average run length 10-25 minutes. Pick up, play, beat the final wave, brag to your friends, go to bed.

I THINK I FIXED IT (and update patch notes)

the bugs are fixed and the game should be able to open Wackytown — v1.1.1 Launch Update Hey Wackers! First patch since launch is here. Focus: making multiplayer feel right + adding some spice for solo runs. Nine multiplayer sync bugs squashed and a full opt-in blood system for players who want their kills to feel a little more visceral. --- ## 🩸 New: Blood System (opt-in) Toggle it on at **Settings → Accessibility → Blood Effects**. Off by default — nothing changes for players who don't want it. - Enemies spray blood on every hit (small burst) and on death (big burst + a ground pool that fades over 12 seconds) - Ground pools stick around long enough to matter — walk through one and blood splatters onto your character - Bloody footprints trail behind you for 8 seconds while you're stained - Stains fade cleanly, no visual pollution left behind --- ## 🎮 Multiplayer Sync — 9 major fixes If you played multiplayer at launch, you probably hit one of these. All resolved: - **Shadow companion no longer appears giant to other players** — was inheriting a broken prefab scale on remote clients - **Shadow projectiles now sync** — remote players see the shots your Shadow companion fires, not just phantom damage - **Freeze effect syncs across clients** — everyone now sees the ice tint + slow when an enemy gets frozen - **Base health stays in sync** — host and clients no longer drift apart; the health bar you see is the real number - **Map selection syncs to the lobby** — when the host picks a map, joiners see the same one in the lobby UI - **Modded (Workshop) skins now render on remote players** — no more default sprite when your friend equips a Workshop skin - **Accepting a Steam invite lands you in the Lobby screen** — was silently joining the room without showing the panel - **Steam Workshop publish is more reliable** — now sets language explicitly and validates the content folder before submit, resolving the k_EResultInvalidParam that some skin creators hit - **Loading screens...
