About this game

Roll. Hide your cup. Then lie through your teeth.

Bardo is a game of bluffing and nerve for up to 6 players, classic Liar's Dice with a cozy tavern soul and a chaotic twist.

How it works

Everyone rolls five dice in secret. Take turns raising the bid on how many of a face are on the whole table. Think they're lying? Call their bluff. Think they nailed it exactly? Call Spot On. Lose the round, lose a die. Last one with dice on the table wins.

Bluff with friends or strangers

Up to 6 players online. Host a private table for your friends, or drop into an open lobby and lie to whoever shows up.

The loser writes the rules

In Event mode, whoever loses the round picks a twist for the next one: only one face counts, every cup lifts for a single second, you can't peek at your own hand for more than two… Chaos, by popular demand.

Play solo, never alone

Not in the mood for people? Fill the table with AI rivals. 7 distinct personalities, some cautious, some reckless, some impossible to read. (Meet Rum, Ace, Raven… and the rest.

Make the table yours

Unlock 13 characters, from grizzled adventurers to outright oddballs, each earned through its own challenge, win with a single die, land five perfect Spot On calls, pull off a +10 raise. Then pick your victory pose and gloat in style

A warm place to lie

A hand-built medieval tavern, an original soundtrack, and the firelit, friendly menace of a good story about pirates and chancers. No grimdark, just good company and bad intentions.

    Update #5: Better tutorials

New "How to Play" tutorial — four illustrated screens covering the goal, what a bid actually claims, how raising works, and when to call Liar or Spot On. Two of them are hands-on: practise a raise and try both calls with nothing at stake. It opens by itself the first time you play, and it's always there from the main menu and the pause menu. Solo matches now start with three opponents already at the table. You used to have to add them by hand before you could begin. Your first three matches are against the gentlest opponents, so you can learn without being eaten alive. Random opponents after that. Bid history down the left of the screen: who bid what, in order, so you don't have to hold the round in your head before calling Liar. Fixes The end-of-round banner said "loses a die" even when the Double Down event cost two.

Update #4: Fixes on graphic settings

Added an FPS limit option in Settings > Graphics (30/60/120/144/Unlimited). It defaults to 60, so the game no longer runs your GPU at full load just to render a dice table. This should noticeably lower GPU usage and heat. Fixed VSync being reset whenever you changed the graphics quality preset. Fixed the volume sliders doing nothing while you were in the main menu.

    Update #3: Take your time

Turn Timer The turn timer can now be turned Off — slide it past either end of the range to disable it entirely. In solo and private lobbies the timer now defaults to Off. Public lobbies keep the 30-second default so nobody can hold a match hostage. Timer options are now fixed steps: 5, 10, 15, 20, 30, 45 or 60 seconds. AI Bid Speed New AI Speed setting in the match setup: from x0.5 (relaxed, easy to follow) up to x3 (rapid fire). Bots also take a little longer to bid by default, the bid history flew by too fast to track. Each AI still keeps its own rhythm; the impulsive ones stay impulsive. Match Settings The pre-match settings panel was rebuilt: settings now live in a proper scrollable list, and gamepad navigation follows your selection as you scroll. Fixes & Polish Joining with a wrong or expired room code now says "Room not found — check the code" instead of a misleading network error. Fixed an error spam when a lost die tried to play its dissolve effect while hidden. Improved error reporting under the hood so we can hunt down crashes faster.
