About this game

A small ship. A vast, quiet dark. A signal that never quite fades.

🌌 A galaxy that went still

The Telmari heard something out in the deep - a song between the stars. Some followed it across. Some stayed. You arrive long after, drifting through the beautiful, melancholic remains of what they left behind, picking up signals no one was ever meant to hear.

🚀 Your ship does the work

Deep Reach lives in the corner of your screen while you get on with your day. Your miner scans, travels and breaks down asteroids entirely on its own - you never pilot, you guide. Spend what you gather on upgrades, choose where to drift, and watch a tiny world tick quietly along beside you.

📡 Reach deeper. Listen closer.

Every creature and relic you find is catalogued in a living logbook, each with its own fragment of lore. Encrypted transmissions surface as you go - decode them in gentle little puzzles and slowly piece together what really happened out here.

✦ What waits in the deep

⛏️ Autonomous mining - asteroids, rare ores and drifting scrap, broken down for you

🔭 Scanning & discovery - lifeforms and hidden artifacts surface as your scanner pulses

🧩 Quiet decode puzzles - cryptograms, signal tuning and more, never against a clock

📖 A living logbook - everything you find, woven through with its own story

🌌 Six biomes to unlock and travel between, each with its own mood and palette

🚀 Ship upgrades & variants, hyperdrive jumps, and rare sights for the patient

🪟 Desktop companion - sits small and calm in the corner, grows when you lean in

No fail states. No timers breathing down your neck. Just a soft, slow galaxy - and the quiet pull of whatever lies further out.

Mine. Scan. Remember.

🛰️ On the horizon

Deep Reach keeps growing. A few things we're drifting toward — plans, not promises:

🎵 An original soundtrack — a distinct musical mood for every biome

📡 More life in the quiet — planets that murmur fragments and lore to your console

🛸 A wandering trader — an occasional visitor with brief, tempting deals

🌍 More languages, starting with German

🪐 A deeper planet world — more creatures to find, and richer planet scans

    Deep Reach — v1.1.2

    - Fixed: Spore Veil logbook entries showed 0/0 and its 8 artifacts couldn't be decoded, blocking the Telmari Linguist achievement. Your collected entries were never lost — they appear retroactively, and the achievement unlocks once you decode the remaining artifacts. - Fixed: the "Movable window" setting now survives a restart. - New: "Background opacity" slider (20–100%) — fade the space background so your desktop shows through, while your ship, objects and UI stay fully visible. For everyone who works behind the nebula. Both fixes and the new option come straight from your reports. Thank you very much!

    Deep Reach — v1.1.1

    - Fixed: on smaller screens, large window presets could grow past the screen edge, putting the settings gear out of reach with no way back. The window now always stays within your usable screen area. - New: F10 opens the settings from anywhere, anytime — your permanent escape hatch. Thanks to the player who reported the window trap so kindly. If you were stuck in it: updating fixes it automatically.

Deep Reach — v1.1.0 "The Garden Update"

The first new sector since launch is here. NEW SECTOR: SPORE VEIL Beyond the Deep Pull, the terraforming gardens of the Telmari kept growing after the gardeners left. Collect 25 coordinate fragments in the Deep Pull to chart your way in. - A dense spore fog cuts your scanner range by 40%. The new Beacon Array upgrade pierces it, one third per level, and your warnings panel shows the new SENSOR FOG status. - 8 new lifeforms to catalog: the Sporelantern, the gentle Veilwhale with its glowing spine, a drifting polyp chain, a swarm of living motes, and more. Two of them only reveal themselves when you survey the garden planet. - 8 new artifacts tell the story of the gardeners: a seed vault that was not looted but sown, a pruning blade worn to half its width, and the First Bloom itself. Each with its own cipher to decode. - A new spore asteroid type rich in ore and DNA, a lush garden planet for orbital surveys, new ambient decorations, moss creeping in from the corners of your screen. - The hull actually regenerates gently in the Veil. The fog is soft. Only the view is not. The story ending now waits until your logbook includes the gardens — the finale stays the finale. Thank you for all the reports and ideas since launch. The roadmap keeps growing, and so do the gardens.

    Deep Reach — v1.0.2

This one is almost entirely built from your reports and suggestions from launch week. Thank you, keep them coming! EMBER FIELD REWORK The Ember Field forced you to babysit the hull and retreat every ~3 minutes, which is not what a background game should do. Three changes: - Hull Reinforcement now extends your stay much more per level: roughly 2.5 minutes per level before the emergency retreat, up to 12.5 minutes at max (also applies to Deep Pull, and debris impacts in the Wreck Belt are dampened more too). - The Shield Generator is no longer a secret: it now shows up (locked) in the Hull tab as soon as you reach the Ember Field, with its requirement visible. Install it and hostile sectors become fully idle-able. No more guessing whether a solution exists. - Hull Reinforcement prices got a serious trim (top level ~19,300 instead of ~51,900 credits). BALANCE - De-Icer Coils are cheaper (540 / 1,350 / 3,375 instead of 720 / 2,160 / 6,480). They arrive in the second biome, and the old prices were out of reach that early. FIXES & QUALITY OF LIFE - The isopods finally have their legs back. A build-only bug meant their leg sprites never loaded in the released game (everything looked fine in the editor). Full leg glory and their little walking wave are now live. We are so sorry, little crawlers. - Ship attachment modules (cargo pods, boosters and friends) now take visible scorch damage along with the hull, and heal clean again too. - The window no longer shrinks while you're reading the log tablet. - New option "Window frame" in the settings: draws a thin teal outline around the otherwise frameless window so it stands out on your desktop. Off by default. - Button hovers no longer spam the log file with harmless errors. - Two Steam achievement descriptions were fixed earlier this week (a leftover placeholder and a wrong hour count).

    Deep Reach — v1.0.1

🐛 Code Decryption: retrying after a failed hack now generates a fresh code — previously the same code stayed active even though the solution had just been revealed (memorize, retry, type it in). That loophole is closed: every failed attempt rerolls the code, even after closing the console or restarting the game. Thanks for the sharp-eyed report — keep them coming!
