About this game

Welcome to the table. Dice in hand, relics on your lap. Across from you: seven bastards who want nothing more than to see you ruined.

Roll to Ruin is a medieval dice roguelite built on Farkle rules and deckbuilding. Every run comes down to the same thing: roll, hold, farkle or score, then hit the target before the bastard across the table does.

Most of the time, you won't.

How It Works

Roll & Score: Roll six dice each turn, hold at least one scoring face, then decide — push your luck or bank? Farkle means walking away with nothing.

Score Attack Duel: From a tavern drunk to the Crow King in the depths, every opponent has their own personality, strategy and badge arsenal. First to the target wins.

Badge Power: 34 badges covering score boosts, multipliers, face-shifting, counter-play, and more. Activate at the right moment and flip the table.

Dice Are Your Deck: 39 dice, each with its own probability curve. 5 types of bags and 8 direct purchases — build your deck between runs at the shop. Fair Die, Backroom Die, Stub-Finger Die, Lead-Core Die — can you put together a deck worth betting on?

Highlights

  • Farkle × Deckbuilding: classic dice gambling, rebuilt as a limitlessly replayable Roguelite

  • 7 Chapters: from the Dawn Inn to The Undercroft — stakes climb, opponents get meaner

  • AI With Personality: personality-driven AI and badge-use strategy — every opponent delivers a distinct experience

  • Medieval Watercolor: dip-pen ink and watercolor bring the tavern table to life

  • 10–30 Minutes Per Run: long enough for a drink, not long enough for dinner

"...Just One More..."

— some gambler, crawling back to the table after going broke

What's Coming to Roll to Ruin After Early Access Launch

Roll to Ruin launches into Early Access on August 20, and content will keep coming after that. Here's the rough plan:Endless ModeA separate mode, apart from the taverns. Random opponents, with difficulty and rewards stacking higher the further you go. It ends when you Farkle and leave the table — there's no finish line.Custom MatchesSet your own rules: restrict which dice can be used, disable specific badges, adjust the wager range, and more.Taverns and Opponents7 taverns at launch, more on the way. New taverns have their own themes and atmosphere. New opponents come with voice lines and emotional reactions during matches — they'll groan, gloat, and talk back.Dice and BadgesMore dice and badges will be added over time, including stronger ones, so you have answers for the tougher opponents waiting further in.Balance and QoLBalance and quality-of-life improvements will keep rolling out based on player feedback.Platforms and Cross-Platform SavesMore platforms are in the works, with cross-platform save support.Localization and AchievementsMost importantly: more languages and Steam achievements will be among the first things added after launch.

    How Roll to Ruin Works

A dice roguelite built on Farkle rules, with dice deckbuilding and a badge system on top. Before a run: Pick your dice deckThere are 39 dice types in the game, but you start with just three. Each one has different face distributions — one slightly favors 1s, another heavily favors 5s. Before a run, pick 6 from your collection and enter the tavern.Enter the tavern: Place your wagerEvery match costs a wager. Win, get double back. Lose, it's gone. Starts at Dawn Inn, wagers go up from there. Keep playing or leave the table with your winnings to go collect more dice — your call. Gold and dice carry over between runs permanently. Lose a match and that wager is gone, but the gold and dice you already have stay with you. Before each match: Pull a badgeBefore every match, you get to pull a badge to bring in. 34 in total. Most need to be used actively — reroll dice, double your score, things like that. Passives include one-time Farkle protection, bonus starting points. Timed right, they can flip a losing round.Match rulesTurn-based. You and an NPC opponent take turns rolling. After each roll, pick out any scoring dice and set them aside. Scoring:A single 1 is 100 points, a single 5 is 50Three of the same number: three 2s is 200, three 3s is 300… three 6s is 600Three 1s is 1000After setting scoring dice aside, two options for the rest:Bank. Lock in your score. Turn ends.Keep rolling. If the new roll has scoring dice, pick them out, points stack, and you choose again. If none score —Farkle. All points from this turn are gone. Turn ends.\If all 6 dice score, you get all six back and keep rolling with points rolling over.Every turn comes down to the same question: bank what you have or push your luck.Back at the hall: Open dice bagsSpend gold at the shop on dice bags. Each bag gives you a random die you don't own yet. Goes into your collection permanently, available for your next run. Collecting all 39 takes time. That's how Roll to Ruin plays.Launching August 20 in Early Access. De...
