About this game
A weekend getaway. A harmless treasure hunt. A desperate rescue mission.
You arrive at the dense, suffocating edge of the woods expecting a cheerful reunion with your girlfriend, Steph, who went missing during a girls' weekend trip. Instead, you find an abandoned campsite, scattered gear, and a trail of frantic notes.
The "treasure hunt" Steph and her friends were following wasn't a game at all. It was a trap.
They unlocked something ancient. Now, they are trapped in a living nightmare, and the clock is ticking. To save Steph and escape with your lives, you must piece together the clues of a ritual gone horribly wrong.
The rules of the forest are simple but cruel: Gather the stolen gems. Return them to the cursed, gold-laden coffin. Or become a permanent part of the woods.
Key Features
Atmospheric Psychological Horror: Explore a beautifully eerie, Unreal Engine-powered forest where the shadows stretch and every snapping twig could mean your demise.
Piecing Together the Mystery: Discover letters, and your own characters audio/narrative to reconstruct the final hours of the girls' weekend and find Steph’s location.
High-Stakes Relic Hunting: Track down the scattered gems hidden across haunted landmarks, all while keeping your wits about you when you first hear the creatures.
The Cursed Coffin: Your only safe haven—and your ultimate objective. Get the 8 gems that are scattered around the forest and escape.
Immersive Survival: No heavy weaponry, just your wits, a flashlight, and the desperate drive to save the woman you love.
Will you break the curse, or will you take their place in the coffin?

Just A Stroll In The Forest - Game Announcement
Game Announcement!Just A Stroll In The ForestPlot - Steph told you it was just a fun girls weekend involving a treasure hunt. It went wrong. You got a text from her freaking out about the forest moving, the trees being alive and 8 cursed gems that were disturbed. She is missing, you have arrived at the same location she was at with her friends. You need to find the 8 gems and return them to the cursed coffin before the woods themselves get you, or whatever lies beyond.....Some facts about the game : The forest was created procedurally, I know it has some odd bits within in terms of layout...that is intended... The creatures that roam the forest, there are if I remember correctly over 10 of them. Every player should experience things differently. There is no difficulty slider or save system, the game can technically be beat in 1 sitting. If you KNOW where the gems are, it can be done VERY quickly. *hint hint.....No difficulty slider as you can in most cases out RUN the creatures, there are so many of them you could potentially run into many at a time.Headphones are recommended for the absolute BEST experience Get to know the Studio - Van Isle GamesThis is kind of a joke entry - it's just me. One guy. A little about me, I'm now getting up there in age in my 40's. I have been playing videogames since I was a small child riddled with cancer. (yes, that is true. I had a form of cancer when I was just a wee lad)Fine now, but most likely on a spectrum of sorts. So anyway, Playing games for probably 38 years now, I moved around Canada a bit before deciding to settle here on Vancouver Island because it's always raining and dreary so it's easy to stay indoors for long stretches' (this is a total joke about how people perceive the area, it's FREAKING beautiful out here).Always disliking most jobs I have had and I have had lots including, call center dude, auto parts wrecker, fast food jockey, call center trainer and more.....I figured to try and learn Unreal Engine in my spare t...Read full article on Community Announcements (vanislandgames)
