    The Pleben Patch

THE PLEBEN PATCH everything since launch (named after one of our playtesters) pongo launched. then we kept working. this is all of it — several patches' worth, including some things that were quietly very broken. consider this the changelog and the confession. MUSIC the game launched without music. fixed that. oops! MULTIPLAYER the big one. local play, co-op, and versus is on the main menu, available from the start. also, local play was supposed to unlock after act 3. it didn't. fixed that! couch multiplayer shouldn't be endgame content anyway. you have a friend on the sofa now. so here's what's behind that button: co-op is a real run. map, shops, class select for both of you, upgrades — the actual campaign, not a versus match wearing a campaign's clothes. versus has 1v1 and 2v2. versus plays like ROUNDS: every 2 goals, the losing side drafts an upgrade. the leader never picks. if you're behind, you're getting stronger. that's the whole idea. both team modes get PASS — lobs the ball in an arc to your teammate. it replaces SLOW in co-op and 2v2. you have a partner now. use them. and players 3 and 4 couldn't move. every paddle past p1 was wired to p2's keys, so three of you shared I/K and wondered why 2v2 felt like a group project. p3 is T/G, p4 is arrows. fixed before anyone could suffer it, thanks to the gate that hid it. silver linings. PINBALL you could hold the ball against a wall and farm about 60 points a second. or wedge it in a bumper for roughly 1500. rare tier was 500. so that was going... well. fixed. every score source has a cooldown now — leaning on a wall pays once and then stops paying. goal's up to 1000, and every award doubled to match. BLOOD VAMPIRE needs 14 hits in a rally now, up from 10. it also only pays once per round. lives hard-cap at 10. your max life pool had a habit of creeping up by one every single fight. BLOODLETTER: 10 hits, up from 8. BLOOD PACT: 7, up from 5. and the lives counter updates mid-round now instead of whenever it felt lik...
