2.0 - Golf added and major quality of life updates
New Card Game and lots of Quality of LifeIt seems that most players are either "Card sharks" or people looking to learn some of the card games included to play in real life. For instance, 30% of players have beat every game on every difficulty while most requests I've heard are features that assist in learning. This 2.0 update caters to both:1) A golf game for people who've beat everything. Additionally, there's lots of consistency passes among all the games, so that more games can be added much easier. 2) I actually learned golf existed in passing conversation, so it was a great opportunity to understand how to learn a card game by playing it virtually. I realized I needed those "reference cards" that often come in packaging for cards. I've added those for all games, so that you can keep your grounding as you navigate the rules. Additionally, rules themselves have been standardized on every game, while before they were more catered to a translation engine I still haven't finished. The new learning features can be turned off in both the menu, and during the game itself. On controller it's a button press and on mouse/keyboard it's the little booklet at the top right. This way you can easily turn them on and off if you are a shark. An example of a learning card, setback's shows you the current state of points. A ? mark is shown if there is still a potential switch to that point, in this case, the 2 could win over the 3 if its in play.A more static example, golf has the scoring criteria as a reference, so you don't need to keep opening the rules (I sure had to until I added this).Read full article on Community Announcements (Mr. Needful)Patch NotesOfficial
Cribbage - Clearer scoring fix
In Cribbage, leave the crib and starter, for visual scoring instead of just text. Thanks Skunkworks for proposing. https://i.imgur.com/YCf9RHH.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (Mr. Needful)Patch NotesOfficial
Update for June 23rd - Scoring in Engine and Trick Sweeps
The score stays on the table When a hand ends, the summary no longer covers the felt with a pop-up. A small score box settles into the table's open space and the next hand deals in beneath it. It eases in, lingers while you read it, and clears the moment you act. Tap it (or press X on a controller) for the full hand. In Hearts, Spades, and Euchre, a won trick now slides over to whoever took it, so it's easy to follow who's collecting. Controller & Steam Deck The card cursor, highlight, and "Play" prompt show up only when it's actually your turn now. No more lingering during bidding, an opponent's turn, or while a hand is being scored. The in-game settings list no longer jumps to the top when you scroll it with the left stick. Switching between mouse and controller mid-turn repaints the cursor cleanly, and stale prompts no longer hang around after you act.Read full article on Community Announcements (Mr. Needful)Patch NotesOfficial
Update notes for Jun 22nd
Gamepad: the card cursor and highlight no longer show on your hand when it isn't your turn to act (bidding, opponents' plays, the count). Fixed some results not recording: Hearts solo games and Hold'em bust-outs now count toward your stats. Spades: the end-of-hand summary reports bag penalties correctly. Cribbage: the end-of-round scoring box is now titled "Round Results" and counts out twice as fast. Sturdier mid-hand resume, including from older or unusual save states. Controller polish: cleaner mouse/gamepad switching, no leftover on-screen prompts.Read full article on Community Announcements (Mr. Needful)Patch NotesOfficial
June 16th, v1.53
v1.53 - The game now calls you "You" instead of a character name, across all six games. Includes your score, the play-by-play, hand summaries, and the Hold'em action log. Opponents keep their names.Read full article on Community Announcements (Mr. Needful)
