A note from the developer

This is the very first public version of Arcane Idle, built by a single developer in their spare time. Much more is planned, new heroes, regions, crafting systems, story content, and quality-of-life improvements are all on the roadmap.

Your feedback shapes what gets built next. Thank you for being here from the start.

    0.1.41-alpha

Inventory and shop controls reworked. Managing gear now works the way it does in any RPG: Hover an item to inspect it, no more clicking to open a tooltip. Right-click or drag to equip, unequip, buy and sell. Valid slots light up while you drag. Drag onto the trash to destroy an item you don't want.

    Update Notes For Aug 12

Two big things in this one: heroes no longer come with skills already known (you train them now) and there’s a new fishing area with a fresh batch of fish and food to cook. Heads up if you already have a save Your heroes’ skills were cleared. Nothing is lost: everything they knew is sitting in the new Training Grounds waiting to be trained, and the first skill is cheap. The game will explain this with a one-time popup the next time you walk into your garrison. Skills are trained now New menu: the Training Grounds — the book icon at the top right of the garrison. Heroes are recruited knowing nothing. Every skill is bought there with copper, one at a time. Battle loadout: a hero brings 1 skill into a fight at level 1, a second at level 8 and a third at level 20. Anything else you’ve trained sits on the bench until you swap it in. Click a slot to empty it. New fishing area: Frostmere Deep Built for Fishing 12 and up. Bites are slow and the line fails more often, but nothing that comes up is small. Four new fish: Silverscale Minnow, Ironjaw Crayfish, Glacierback Trout and Palescale Sturgeon. Silverscale Minnow also swims in Amberfin Shallows and comes up 2–3 at a time. The catch log and the popups now group duplicates (“Silverscale Minnow x3”). Cooking: 8 new recipes Cooking level 12 through 20: Silverscale Fry — restores 130 health. Mist-Veil Roe Bites — +10 agility and +3% crit for 3 min. Riverroot Chowder — 190 health over 10s. Ironshell Crayfish Stew — +150 armor for 3 min. Clay-Baked Ironjaw — restores 260 health. Smoked Copper Eel Jerky — +15% attack speed for 3 min. Grave-Salt Cured Minnow — cleanses poison and curses and keeps them off for 90s. Glacierback Roast — restores 300 health, then 180 more over 12s. Tweaks Copper Eel chance in Amberfin Shallows: 8% → 12%. Muddy Blue-Gill chance in Sinir Lake: 7% → 12%. Roster cards are shared between the party screen and the Training Grounds, so hero state reads the same everywhere. Still an alpha, if something looks wr...

    Update Notes For Aug 10

Update 0.1.3-alpha | Rustwake Two new areas, a new boss, a whole new weapon type, and enemies that finally know how to keep their distance. New Areas Rustwake Gate (levels 18–20) four rooms of Armored Drones guarding the way in. Rustwake Foundry (levels 18–24) five rooms ending in a boss fight. Both are marked on the world map. New Boss: Steel-Joint Apex A level 24 machine that fights at range and never lets you settle. Rail Volley: sweeps the entire room with rail fire and stuns everything it touches. Overdrive: at 40% HP the servos stop pacing themselves. Permanent +50% attack speed for the rest of the fight, and it runs visibly hot. Immune to stun: you will not be crowd-controlling your way out of this one. Drops 11 unique pieces, including the Apex Railfang, Apex Bulwark Plating and the Apex Targeting Rune. Killing it unlocks a new achievement. New Enemies Armored Drone MK1: (18–20) heavily armored ranged unit that backs away when you close in. Steel-Joint Stalker: (19–22) fast, long-reaching, and the source of most of the Foundry's gear. New Weapon Type: Daggers Fast, Agility-scaling weapons with their own art, available from level 1 all the way to endgame. New Items 32 new items in total: 27 equipment pieces, 2 runes, and 3 new sellables. A full Rustwake set built out of scrapped machines, Rustplate Carapace, Sinewire Jerkin, Static-Weave Shroud, Arc Coil Rod, Piston-Head Maul, Stalker's Optic Visor, Tension Coil Band and more. A barrow line of gear with its own Grave Rot and Barrow Momentum effects, Barrow-Iron Longsword, Gravewarden's Bulwark, Shroudweave Cowl, Widow's Vigil Staff, Ossuary Reliquary, Pallbearer's Signet, Cairn-Marked Plate and the Gravecaller's Sigil Rune. Castle Kitten now drops real loot instead of just coins: the Sinir Watch Blade, Watcher's Iron Sallet, Sinir Sentry Hood, Tower Guard's Buckler, Watchfire Cedar Staff and Kitten Claw Charm. Combat Tactics Ranged units no longer stand still while a melee attacker chews on them. Kiting: a ra...
