Content notice: Although there is no on screen violence, characters in this game are hardened adventurers and one of the mysteries in the game is the investigation of a possible murder. This requires discussion of past, off-screen violence that took place, discussion of methods of violence, discussions of past fictional wars and murders, and some crude language on the part of these characters, including real world swear words.

About this game

A previously-disbanded adventuring party reunites after years apart to go on one last quest together, and it all goes horrifically wrong.
The artifact they were sent to find is missing, old friends are suddenly fighting like bitter enemies, and the party's healer has died under suspicious circumstances. It's up to you to piece together what happened and who is truly to blame.
Edicts of the Truthsinger: The Orb of Artemagus is a mystery game centering around a classic adventuring party that have returned from their latest quest only to discover the artifact they were sent to retrieve has vanished from their custody.
You play as Truthsinger Ak’ordia, a member of a specialized order of investigators who have a knack for getting to know their conversation partners and developing an internal sense of when they’re being lied to.
Interview Suspects
You must interview and interrogate the six party members, gathering their responses in your trusty casebook and then stacking those statements against each other to find the contradictions.
Each time you manage to catch a suspect in a lie, you get closer to understanding them a little deeper and being able to tell when they’re being less than truthful with you. Develop your rapport with each suspect to get hints when they’re telling you a bold-faced lie, a half-truth, and even, with enough familiarity, a lie of omission.
Prove Your Theories
Just knowing someone’s lying to you isn’t enough, though! The tenets of your vocation require that you provide solid evidence that proves someone isn’t being truthful. Your gut instinct can guide you, but to make an edict on the truth of the matter, you’ll need to fill your casebook with conclusions wrestled from comparing and contrasting multiple claims.
Race The Clock (Or Chill And Chat)
Half the battle is knowing what to spend your time asking; while working to solve the case of the Orb of Artemagus, you have only seven days to get the evidence you need to make a final decision about who the thief is. Each question you ask costs you time, so solving this mystery isn’t as simple as asking every single question available to you.
Unless, of course, you choose to play on relaxed mode! It’s always an option to take your time and see every single piece of dialog in the game, if that’s your cup of tea.
Non-Linear Story Exploration
The game rewards you for making connections and pursuing leads - you have to search out exactly what you want to ask characters about by going through the entries of your casebook. If it doesn’t occur to you to ask something, it won’t appear as an option!
In your role as Truthsinger, your investigative skills and social deduction instincts will be critical… because with this game, it’s entirely possible to get it wrong. At the end of the time limit, it will be up to you to present the evidence you think is relevant to accuse the person you think is guilty, and your persuasive power is more than capable of putting the wrong person behind bars.

Demo Patch: The Multi-Page Jotpad Has Arrived!
Hello investigators! Today's patch brings a few improvements aimed at making it easier to keep your thoughts and your notes sorted, plus a few little nice-to-haves.The Jotpad now supports multiple pages! Instead of one big pile of notes and quotes, you can now create and name an endless number of pages to separate out your thoughts as you're talking to the suspects. Better communication when nothing happens for a reason - if you try to drop a dialog line on a character that doesn't have an interaction with that line, instead of nothing happening, which might be confusing if you missed that not every dialog line that has something in it can generate a question, there's a little sound that plays and a text popup that explains that the line doesn't generate a question for that character. Some new art! We've got a gorgeous main menu splash art scene that replaces the campfire scene, and we've also updated the background art for Ali'theo's area of the gardens. More dialog, MORE! The full game now has roughly 70,000 words of discoverable dialog in it, a good chunk of which is discoverable in the demo if you snoop cleverly! As always, please don't be shy about letting us know if you find any bugs or typos or have thoughts about how the gameplay could be improved! Good luck solving this mystery, investigators! Until next time!Read full article on Community Announcements (Kinironiba)Patch NotesOfficial

Demo Update - Typos, Casebook Notifications, Bugfixes!
Hello investigators! Today we have for you another small update to the demo, including:Typo FixesWe've fixed a handful of little typos in the dialog (woops!) and are always on the lookout for more. Don't be shy about letting us know when you spot one, we're always grateful. Given that the game now contains roughly fifty-one thousand words of dialog and there's only one person on the writing team, a few woopsies are inevitable so any help in spotting them is, well... helpful!New Content Notification on Casebook TabsThe Casebook tabs now get a little ! notification icon on them when you've gotten something new, like a new codex entry, a new line of dialog that contains a draggable idea, or a new conclusion. Conclusion Tab Bullet Point CustomizatoinYou could always change what the icons looked like by clicking on them, but now left click changes their colour and right click changes their shape. I've also added some text on the page itself that explains this! The idea is that it will help you connect certain conclusions to certain characters and events by making your own categories with the colours and shapes.Tutorial Popups Trigger On Click Instead of MouseoverI've updated the Casebook and Jotpad tutorials to trigger on first click instead of on first mouseover, just so it's clearer why they appeared and what they're connected to. No more tutorial jumpscare!BugfixesThe Casebook now correctly remembers if you had the Conclusions page or the Gallery page open last and will open to those when you return to itFixed a weird glitch where Lillian's face would pop forward if she blinked while angryFixed the search bar in the Conclusions tab not workingAs always, good luck with your investigations and please let us know if you have any feedback!Read full article on Community Announcements (Kinironiba)Patch NotesOfficial
Small Update - Performance Improvements, Bugfixes, More Dialog!
Greetings investigators!Todays' quick update is just to add:Playback performance improvements for tutorial videosAfter watching some playthroughts online I realized our sweet new video tutorials were so laggy they might as well still be still images! So I did some digging and discovered every single tutorial video was starting and looping playback simultaneously whenever you watched one of them. Obviously not the intended behaviour, so that's been fixed!Jotpad position storage resets if you take it off screenPlaytesters discovered a fascinating little issue where you could lose your Jotpad forever if you moved it onto a second monitor. The game now checks to see if the last place you had your Jotpad open was outside the bounds of the game, and if so it resets it to the default starting Jotpad position instead of re-opening it where you last left it. Yay!More dialog added! You still only have until the end of day one in the demo, but there are now several more directions you can explore during your time with the suspects! Future updates will continue to add more discoverable dialog as we work towards the full amount of dialog that will be in the finished game, but you will only be able to access four of the six suspects. If you want to talk to them all, you'll need to wait for the full game to come out! That's all for this little update. Please don't hesitate to leave feedback, suggestions, and bug reports in the discussion boards!Read full article on Community Announcements (Kinironiba)Patch NotesOfficial
Tutorial Overhaul
Greetings investigators! We have another update for you that should help smooth out some of the early game onboarding wrinkles. The tutorial popups have been revamped to replace the static images with nice, easily understood video explanations of how the mechanics of the game work. It also allowed us to consolidate the Jotpad tutorial from a five part explanation to a three part explanation. A picture may be worth a thousand words but three videos easily replace five pictures! If you ever need to revisit a tutorial explanation, you can click on the "How to Play" button from the pause menu. Thanks as always to the fantastic folks who are providing us with this feedback so we can make this game the best that it can be. Until next time, investigators!Read full article on Community Announcements (Kinironiba)
