About this game
The Last Comfort is a Metroidvania set within a child's subconscious mind. You play as Tedd, his favorite teddy bear, set on a mission to save the boy from a terminal illness. You must traverse through the child's memories, dreams, and nightmares and save him from the sickness.
The world in the boy's mind is vast, filled with enemies and obstacles. You have to fight through many enemies and bosses that each have different attack sequences, and you have to learn their patterns, know how to parry/block, stun them, and know when to strike!
Master the block system to knock enemies off balance, use fade-away slashes to control the gap, and parry at the exact second an enemy strikes to unleash a devastating counter-attack.
The world is full of danger in this decaying mind, but some places are still safe and clean from the sickness. This is where you get a breather before you continue on ahead in search of the sickness.
You aren't forced into one specific way to fight. Throughout the world, you will find unique bracelets with different abilities and skills to help you build the way you like to play. Find keys to unlock more slots to equip more bracelets.
Key Features:
Interconnected Exploration: Find your own path through a non linear map, from toxic bogs to deep, dark caves.
Customization: Tailor your combat approach with unique Bracelets.
Tactile Progression: Find Memory stones statues to acquire powerful new skills that fundamentally change your movement and combat potential.
Vital Rewards: Defeat overwhelming bosses to earn coins for the shop and collect crucial Star Shards to keep yourself healed during difficult fights.
Multiple Endings: The child's ultimate fate rests on the secrets you uncover and the choices you make in the dark.

Behind the Scenes: The Art Process
Welcome to The Last Comfort's behind-the-scenes! First of all, THANK YOU!!! Thank you for the 1,000+ Wishlists! Here are some hand-drawn work-in-progress of some assets, npcs, enemies, ect before the final rendering polish. This is the exact step-by-step process of how I take a blank canvas and build it into an asset. This is the very first area you will explore in the game. To give you a little bit of lore, Teddy is a stuffed animal owned by a terminally ill boy named Charlie. This area is based on the old well in Charlie's grandmother's garden. It was their favorite spot to play back when Charlie was healthy, happy, and full of imagination. They were never actually allowed to go down into it (obviously), so Charlie would just sit by the edge and make up stories about what could be hiding at the bottom. Charlie used to imagine that the bottom of his grandmother's well was full of these big, gentle bugs in tattered cloaks, carrying lanterns just to guide lost visitors through the dark. The Glowing cyan crystals weren't enough of a light source. He also imagined the smaller bugs down there were just nasty and mean. So, naturally, as his loyal protector, Tedd squashed anything hostile that got in their way as they marched to the very bottom of the well. The sickness, in the boy's imagination, takes form of 'broken' eggs, oozing dark liquid with a dark purple-ish glow, infecting everything it touches. The more sick Charlie gets in "real-life", the more his subconscious mind gets infected, erasing memories, dreams and create more nightmares. Charlie never heard the actual medical term of the illness. He just calls it "The Monster." That's the word his parents use to try and protect him, even though he hears them whispering the real name when they think he's asleep. That's enough "spoilers" for now! I want to thank each and every one of you that is supporting my project and for taking the time to read and look at The Last Comfort's behind the scene's art. Who knows, mayb...Read full article on Community Announcements (.DELMAR)AnnouncementsOfficial
