About this game

The Final Ascent is a build-first roguelike deckbuilder that focuses on planning, strategy and experimentation. Climb through several areas and make your own path into the Tower. The higher you climb, the harder the encounters become as rule-changing Affixes start making each encounter more dangerous. Each choice could be your last.

• Blood Mage: Powerful attacks, card draw and energy gain for a price. Apply bleeds, drain life back and fight on the edge of power and survival.

• Guardian: A defensive powerhouse that shakes off enemy attacks effortlessly. Stack shields, build thorns and watch your enemies struggle to inflict damage.

• Berserker: Dominate any encounter with high single-target damage and multi-target attacks. Stack strength and overwhelm your enemies quickly.

• Trickster: Be rewarded for planning ahead and strategizing in every encounter. Utilize low cost cards, apply debuffs and cycle your deck to continue playing.

You are in control of building your deck your way in The Final Ascent. Pick 10 starting cards and begin your climb. You establish your strategy from the very beginning. As you play, cards and equipment you earn after a battle become a part of your collection, becoming available for use in subsequent climbs.

Compete against others in the Global or Per-Hero leaderboards. Chase the top ranks or chase a personal best and prove yourself.

• Build-first roguelike deckbuilding with a focus on theory crafting

• Four heroes with distinct archetypes

• Choose your 10 starting cards before each climb

• Save your deck and equipment loadouts

Update 1.1.0 — Live Damage Previews & Deck Editor Improvements

Update 1.1.0 Live Damage PreviewsCards now show you their real damage. Scaling cards like Blood Blast, Blood Burst, Titan's Smash, Shield Slam, Pendulum, and Avenge display a live "Current: X dmg" readout that accounts for everything — Strength, Weak, Vulnerable, Bleed stacks, your Shield and Thorns, combo count, and active buffs like Limit Break.Hover an enemy to size them up. Mousing over any enemy instantly re-calculates your whole hand against that specific target. While aiming a card, it follows your cursor (or controller target) too.Conditional cards (Desperation, Execute, Exploit, Ambush, and more) now show their full damage whenever their bonus condition is active.Deck EditorHover any card or equipment in your deck list to see its full preview.Adding and removing cards no longer makes the collection jump or flash, it stays exactly where you scrolled.FixedDeath Blow's Overkill Strength is now truly permanent. It carries into every fight for the rest of your run, as the card always promised.Limit Break and other buffs now appear on your status bar the moment you play them, instead of next turn. Many card descriptions were clarified (whose HP a condition checks, whose Bleed gets converted, and more) so cards do exactly what they say.Hovering "Overkill" on a card now explains the mechanic.
