About this game

Airline Founder is a data-driven single-player airline management simulation. Begin with scenarios such as Tokyo, Singapore, or Paris, choose your strategy, and build an airline around full-service operations, low-cost scale, regional networks, or long-haul premium routes.

Study the world map, compare city demand, airport capacity, runway limits, slot pressure, and real outbound route records. Decide where to fly, which aircraft to assign, how often to operate, and whether your passengers will pay for lower fares, better service, or a more premium cabin.

Running an airline is more than opening routes. Purchase or lease aircraft, search the used market for affordable capacity, maintain fleet health, reconfigure cabins, manage catering, expand into new airports, and develop hub-and-spoke operations while keeping cash, debt, profit, and reputation under control.

The market keeps moving. Fuel shocks, regional travel booms, airport fee changes, maintenance directives, and demand downturns can all reshape your plans. Passengers, spotters, employees, and investors react through a virtual social media system, discussing your fares, punctuality, connections, and safety record. Build a stable business, prepare for an IPO, and watch your share price respond to revenue, profit, leverage, reputation, and major events.

Update 0.5.1 — Bug Fixes and Improvements

It’s been two days since the Early Access launch. Thank you for all your feedback! In response, I’ve released update 0.5.1, which addresses many of the issues you’ve reported.Saves and StabilityFixed an issue where historical routes referencing aircraft that had been sold, returned to their lessor, or removed could prevent saving.Fixed an issue where incorrect file timestamps could cause a newly created autosave to be deleted during cleanup.Fixed an issue where loading or migrating a renamed save copy could overwrite another save.Fixed an issue where errors in UI or achievement notifications could report a save as failed even though it had been saved successfully.Multiplayer and SteamFixed issues that could prevent players from entering the game after returning to the main menu and rejoining, or accepting repeated invitations.Fixed an issue where an outdated multiplayer state could overwrite a guest’s aircraft purchases, leases, route launches, return routes, or additional aircraft assignments.Fixed multiplayer used-aircraft purchases not correctly using the selected listing’s price, age, and condition.Improved error messages for certain Steam initialization failures.Route Planning and SchedulingOutstations already served by active routes can now serve as departure points for revenue-generating return flights and onward point-to-point services.Added options to plan or view a return route, making it easier to arrange return flights for existing one-way routes.New routes default to round-trip operation using the same aircraft in both directions. One-way operation remains available.Added a toggle to link frequencies between paired outbound and return routes.Fixed automatic frequency reductions incorrectly assessing round-trip aircraft rotations and cutting more flights than necessary.Added support for assigning additional aircraft to an existing route, with one-way or round-trip options, frequency settings, and financial forecasts.Multiple aircraft serving the same mar...

    Demo v0.4 Update

Over the past week, I’ve made several more updates to the game based on player feedback. The changes are listed below. The update will most likely be released sometime between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM UTC on August 29.I’ve also received a lot of feedback that the game can feel overwhelming due to the amount of information presented. To better balance realism and accessibility, you can now choose the Information Density in the settings. At lower information density levels, the game will display less detailed information and use fewer technical terms, making it easier to get into. Customizable UIDemo 0.4 introduces a fully customizable UI.You can now rearrange the management interface to better suit your workflow, switch to a cleaner view focused on key decisions, or keep a more detailed layout with additional management information. Custom UI layouts can also be saved for later use.120 Real Aircraft AddedNew games can now be started with either the new real-aircraft catalog or the original fictional-aircraft catalog. The real-aircraft catalog includes 120 models, ranging from turboprops and regional jets to narrow-body and wide-body airliners. Some aircraft can be purchased new, while others will gradually appear on the used-aircraft market as time passes and market conditions change.More Realistic Management ChallengesDemo 0.4 introduces a new Realistic difficulty setting. The economy and overall management pace have also been rebalanced across all difficulty levels to provide a more consistent and challenging experience.Improved Route RecommendationsRoute recommendations now take more factors into account, including city demand, airport size, hub potential, market competition, company reputation, aircraft capacity, and airport slots.Popular trunk routes will also receive more appropriate flight-frequency recommendations based on market size.We also fixed an issue where the route recommendation page and manual route planning could produce inconsistent profitability estimate...
