About this game
The outbreak swept the world in days. Cities burned. Governments fell.
Now, in the ruins of an abandoned research facility, a single power core hums in the dark — broadcasting a rescue signal that's keeping you alive.
If it falls, the perimeter fails. The horde floods in. And your signal goes silent.
Welcome to Hold The Line — a brutal co-op zombie survival FPS where 1–4 players defend the facility's power core against escalating waves of the undead. Every wave, the horde grows. Every wave, you grow stronger. Hold long enough, and rescue might just come.
🩸 PROTECT THE CORE
The reactor at the heart of the facility powers everything — your lights, your defenses, and the signal calling for help. If it dies, you die. Reinforce its barricades, repair the damage, and upgrade its hull to survive longer.
🧟 SURVIVE THE HORDE
Face relentless waves of the undead. Shamblers test your defenses. Sprinting runners flank your position. Massive tanks tear through barricades like paper. The longer you survive, the deadlier they get.
🛠 BUILD & UPGRADE
Earn currency from every kill. Spend it at the workbench between waves: upgrade the core's health, buy better weapons, restock ammunition, or unlock powerful perks that match your playstyle.
🤝 4-PLAYER ONLINE CO-OP
Team up with friends via Steam. Share kills, revive downed teammates, and coordinate your defense — because the horde doesn't care if you're alone or together. They just keep coming.
⚔️ BRUTAL ARSENAL
From baseball bats to assault rifles, from fragmentation grenades to fire axes — wield a deadly arsenal built for one purpose: survival. Every shot counts. Every reload matters.
🏚 THE ABANDONED FACILITY
Explore a decaying industrial complex filled with secrets, supply caches, and lurking horrors. Find new weapons, ammo crates, and hidden perks scattered across the wreckage of civilization.
⏳ HOW LONG CAN YOU HOLD?
Every run pushes you further. Every wave teaches you something new. Your progress saves between sessions — build the ultimate loadout, unlock every perk, and climb the leaderboards.
The dead don't sleep. The dead don't tire. The dead don't stop.
Can you?
HOLD THE LINE.

Hold The Line - Update 0.3.1-alpha
🖥️ UI now correct at every resolutionFixed the menu and in-game UI shifting or overflowing on aspect ratios other than 16:9 (4:3, 5:4, 16:10, 21:9...). Edge elements now stick to their edges — money panel, counters and buttons sit exactly where they should at every ratio (including the wave counter's slide-to-corner animation). The 16:9 look is preserved pixel-for-pixel.🧟 Co-op: zombies stopped attacking some playersFixed zombies walking right up to some players (especially joining players) and just standing there without attacking. A line-of-sight check error was the culprit — zombies now attack everyone equally.🎬 Stuck on a black screen at game startFixed some players never seeing the "The Big Studio presents" intro and being stuck on a black screen forever. The start signal is now delivered reliably, and a safety net was added: if the intro can't start for any reason, you're automatically dropped into the game within 35 seconds — nobody can get locked out anymore.⭐ Co-op: 6 level perks fixedSeveral level perks only worked when the host picked them (and Loot didn't work at all in co-op). All of them now work for every player:Master Carpenter — end-of-wave barricade repair and +20% barricade HP now work when a joining player picks it.Thick Skin — damage reduction now applies to the player who actually picked it.Headhunter — kill money bonus is now added to co-op rewards.Steel Core — the Core takes reduced damage if anyone on the team has it.Explosive Death — zombies killed by joining players can now explode too.Loot — the end-of-wave +$100 now works in co-op for every player.Read full article on Community Announcements (timurblt)Patch NotesOfficial

Localized in 8 languages.🔫 New Weapon: A3500XAvailable in the store: $400 ($600 in co-op).🔸 New Ammo Type: 9mmThe A3500X and MP5 now use 9mm (the M1911 stays on .45 ACP).Purchasable 9mm box: 30 rounds / $60, up to 120 in reserve.📖 Tutorial SystemA 6-page illustrated guide on first launch: the Core, buying weapons, ammo, the workbench, barricade repair and the level system.⭐ New System: Levels & PerksA level system has arrived! Killing zombies earns XP; when you level up, press TAB and pick one of 3 upgrades.26 different upgrades: Sharp Rounds, Headhunter, Piercing Rounds, Extended Mag, Big Bang, Combat Medic, Explosive Death, Vampire and more...🧟 Zombie ImprovementsNo more getting stuck on corpses: you now walk right through dead zombies — but bullets still hit them and they react. Body piles no longer block your path.Harder hit reactions: headshots send zombies reeling, arm shots twist them sideways — with natural variation on every hit.No more attacks through walls: if a zombie can't see you, it won't attack.🔧 FixesQuiet 3D audio fixed — zombie, barricade and footstep sounds are back to full volume.Flashlight no longer whites out the screen on close surfaces (auto-dimming added).Fixed objects vanishing when approached.Major performance pass — noticeably smoother framerate.Read full article on Community Announcements (timurblt)Patch NotesOfficial
Hold The Line - Update 0.2.2-alpha
🎮 GameplayR870 shotgun reworked from the ground up: Now a true zombie-game shotgun — pellets punch through the first zombie and damage the one behind it, pellet count and damage are up (one-shot kills up close, one-shot headshots from a fair distance), effective range is longer and impact force is stronger. Perfect for mowing down packed hordes. For balance, shotgun reserve ammo is now capped at 50.MP5 Buffed: It now kills zombies with 4 headshots instead of 5. It's now about half as powerful as the AKM.Bullets now shoot through barricades: Barricade planks no longer fully stop your bullets — they punch through and hit the zombie behind at 70% damage. You can now shoot the zombies chewing on your barricade without waiting for them to tear it down. Planks take no damage from bullets — only zombies can still break them. All weapon sounds boosted: Every weapon's firing sound is now 25% louder (including tail/echo layers); the MP5 — which was recorded far too quiet — was additionally re-leveled to match the loudness of the other weapons. Your teammates' gunfire in co-op got the same boost.Zombie pit fall polished: Fixed zombies occasionally gliding down the slope in a walking pose, and getting teleported back to the upper edge before finishing the descent. The fall is now consistent every time: a natural drop off the edge, a tumble at the bottom, then back on their feet and attacking.🔧 FixesAll sounds now respect the volume settings: Fixed certain sounds (button clicks, combo, death notification, panel sounds, purchases, taking damage) ignoring the volume settings entirely — including master volume. Since the issue depended on startup order, it could show up on random sounds; it's now fixed at the root. Master volume controls everything, and the SFX slider controls all effect and interface sounds.Bunker interior now lights up properly: The flashlight (and other lights) couldn't illuminate the bunker's interior walls and floor — it stayed pitch black even when you pointed...Read full article on Community Announcements (timurblt)Patch NotesOfficial

🎮 GameplayDeath penalty reworked — health instead of money: Dying or getting revived by Second Wind no longer takes your money. Instead, you come back with 50% health. Applies to both singleplayer and co-op — you still keep your inventory. (The Second Wind perk description has been updated to match.)The M1911 now starts with 72 reserve ammo.Zombies now actually fall into the pit: Zombies heading down to the lower area next to the Core no longer glide through the air — they walk off the edge, fall naturally with gravity, crumple on impact, then get back up and continue the attack. They can't climb back up the way they fell.🔧 FixesCrosshair no longer disappears: The crosshair is now hidden only while the pause menu is open or while aiming down sights (right-click) — it never vanishes in any other situation. (It could previously disappear for good after certain menu transitions.)Ammo counter after syringe: Fixed the bottom-right ammo counter sometimes vanishing after using the syringe (J) until you used it again.🤝 Co-op FixesHost freeze on Second Wind: Fixed the host getting stuck in place after a team revive (camera worked, movement didn't).Buried-in-ground respawn: Fixed a revived player appearing sunk into the ground on other players' screens.Spectator camera on death: Dying now properly switches to the third-person spectator camera — no more getting stuck in first-person with your character frozen mid-run.Continue — upgrades preserved: Loading a saved co-op game no longer resets your Core upgrades (Max Health / Damage Resistance / Regeneration / Barricade HP) or the Core's health.Continue — full health: Everyone now starts at 100% health when continuing a save (previously you'd load in with whatever low health you were saved at).Second Wind — reliable 50% health + full Core: Every player now revives at exactly 50% health (some players ending up at the wrong health — and the weird sprinting/aiming it caused — is fixed). Second Wind now also restores the Core to 100%...Read full article on Community Announcements (timurblt)Patch NotesOfficial

✨ New FeaturesRedesigned UI — health (percentage), sprint and flashlight battery (segmented bars), the wave / zombies-left / kills counters, and the co-op player list have all been rebuilt for a cleaner, more modern look.Punchier combat (gore) — zombies spray blood when hit; arms that take enough damage get dismembered, with blood gushing from the stump. Dynamic blood splatters land on floors and walls, then fade over time.Co-op assist system — deal at least half of a zombie's health but a teammate gets the kill, and you earn a bonus equal to 50% of their reward (the killer's payout isn't reduced). A blue ASSIST popup appears on screen.Intro sequence — starting a new game now plays an atmospheric narration (voiceover + sequential subtitles) before the first wave. Subtitles in 8 languages.3 new zombie animations — a new attack plus extra walk/run variants for more lively, varied movement.⚡ ImprovementsMajor performance boost — up to 3× higher FPS in some areas (e.g. 50 → 150+). Volumetric fog, resolution scaling (FSR / dynamic resolution), and graphics settings overhauled; much smoother on lower-end hardware too.Zombie animations overhauled — zombies now walk and run without foot-sliding, in sync with their footsteps; far smoother and more natural.🛠️ FixesVSync fix — turning VSync off in settings didn't actually disable it (FPS stayed capped). It now turns off properly.Read full article on Community Announcements (timurblt)
