About this game
Command your party. Conquer the dungeon together.
Rally the Parties is a real-time party-based RPG where enemies and allies move alongside your character. You direct the battle through high-level orders, and your party members act autonomously based on their assigned policies. You can switch between characters at any time to take direct control of any role.
Melee, ranged, support, lockdown, flanking — seven character classes each bring unique combat techniques, and your tactical options shift dramatically depending on how you combine them. Orchestrating synergy between party members is the key to success.
Features
Real-time tactics: On a battlefield where allies and enemies keep moving at the same time, you command your party and react on the fly. Three time-flow modes are available, including a semi-real-time mode that lets you stop and think.
Seven classes, seven roles: Swordfighter, Axe Warrior, Scout, Archer, Fire Mage, Water Mage, and Healer. Each has its own attack range and special abilities, and the way you mix them reshapes your strategy.
Lead through directives: Issue party-wide orders such as Attack, Defend, Rally, or Retreat. Your companions interpret your intent and act on their own judgment.
Recruit and expand: Talk to NPCs you encounter in the dungeon and build a party of up to eight. Different combinations open up entirely different approaches.
Multiple parties exploring at once: You're not the only group in the dungeon — several NPC parties roam and explore on their own. Sometimes you cooperate, sometimes you compete; their presence gives the adventure life and unpredictability.
Roguelike stakes: One defeat ends the run. Every attempt invites you to rethink your party, equipment, and tactics on the path to the Demon Lord at the deepest floor.

Origins
In my youth, I was struck by Ali Baba (Starcraft, 1985) — an RPG where you switched between multiple characters as you played — and was further captivated by the arcade game Gain Ground (Sega, 1988), which built its design around the strategic use of distinct characters with unique abilities. That sense of fascination has never faded.
In the years since, tactical RPGs and MMORPGs flourished, and games featuring parties of cooperating characters became commonplace. But none of them quite captured what I was looking for. The ideal game system remained a recurring daydream — never something that felt within reach to actually build.
Then came the recent rise of generative AI, which suddenly made it possible for an individual to produce a game at a quality previously requiring a full studio. Sensing that this might be the last opportunity to bring a long-held idea to life, I finally began development. Rally the Parties is the result.

Rally the Parties — v0.4.0 Update
It's been a while since the last update — v0.4.0 is a major update that reworks the game's foundations. We've overhauled the party order system and unified the behavior logic of allies, NPCs, and enemies, raising the game's tactical depth. We've also designed an advance-and-retreat game cycle, making the dungeon one you can settle into and explore at your own pace.Order System OverhaulParty-wide orders and individual orders, which used to be set separately, now work as one system: issuing a party-wide order automatically unfolds into individual orders for each member.Along with this, you can now choose more tactical party maneuvers, such as encircling formations and divided targeting.Orders can also be issued from the always-visible control panel, letting you decide when to push and when to pull back without breaking the flow of battle.Unified Behavior Across All FactionsAll factions now act on a common thinking engine.NPC and enemy parties behave just like your own, acting strategically under their leaders' orders.Their pack tactics and decisions to flee have become more sophisticated, improving the quality of movement across the board.Within this framework, we've also given each species its own distinctive behavior, making enemies more individual.A Descend-and-Return Game CycleWe've redesigned the game around a core cycle: delve deeper with the "Descend" order, and fall back to the safe room at your starting point with the "Evacuate" order. In the safe room, HP and MP/SP fully recover, and potions are restocked. We've also revised enemy placement so that challenging enemies appear from the middle floors onward.ImprovementsA warning sound now plays when the character you control drops to critical HP.Attack range, previously uniform, now varies by class and enemy species, and weapons can extend it.Equipment that your character cannot equip is now shown semi-transparent, making it easier to tell apart than before.Bug FixesFixed an issue where characters could momentari...Read full article on Community Announcements (tk_works)Patch NotesOfficial
Rally the Parties — v0.3.2 Update
v0.3.2 is an update that makes the game even easier and more comfortable to play. Based on the feedback and information we've received from players, we've focused on readability and smoother performance, revisiting many parts of the game so it's more enjoyable to play.Larger TextWe've reviewed text sizes across the whole game, so that players who find small text hard to read can play comfortably, and so that text stays legible even on stream or in thumbnails. You can now choose the message window's text size from four levels, and we've also raised the default size. UI text throughout the game has been enlarged as well.Clearer Battle VisualsWe've added a number of touches that make the battle situation easier to grasp at a glance. The right panel now shows the traits an enemy has (such as Flying or Death Immune). The icons in the side panels and the character portrait at the bottom of the screen now shake in response to damage. We've also reworked when the portrait appears, making it easier to see which target you're currently attacking, healing, or talking to.Reduced Display LoadTo address an issue where the game could slow down as the map grew larger through exploration, we've reworked how the minimap is drawn to lighten the load.Expanded ManualFor players who have learned the basics, we've added new "Tips" chapters that gather practical knowledge useful in battle. They focus on things that had been pointed out as hard to convey, such as how damage is determined and how to deal with flying characters. We plan to keep expanding the manual in this way to share more detailed information going forward.ImprovementsLengthened the corridors leading to sealed rooms so that party members are no longer left behind.Added an autosave feature that saves at times such as floor transitions, so you can recover in the event of a crash.Added the ability to discard unwanted equipment.Added options for changing the look of the screen, such as the field zoom level and the transparency ...Read full article on Community Announcements (tk_works)Patch NotesOfficial
Rally the Parties — v0.3.1 Update
v0.3.1 is an update focused on raising the game's overall quality toward full release. We've added visual effects that make it easier to follow what's happening in battle, and reworked the processing in situations where the game tended to slow down. Centered on improvements to clarity and smoothness — areas that had been on our mind — the game is now more comfortable to play.Combat Visual Effects AddedTo make it easier to tell whether an attack was blocked or damage was taken, we've added visual effects during battle. An attacking character steps toward its target, a character that blocks an attack is pushed back for a moment by the impact, and a character that takes damage shakes in proportion to the damage received.Reduced Processing LoadIn battles where many enemies and allies move at once, we've distributed the processing load to reduce frame rate drops. In particular situations where pathfinding tends to pile up, we've reworked how pathfinding is handled to lighten the load. When moving between floors, loading is now covered by a screen fade, making the transition feel smoother.ImprovementsRestarting an adventure now returns you to the map and class selection screen. You can now quit the game without returning to the title screen.Added a slight random variation to damage, so the same attack no longer always deals the same amount.Bug FixesFixed an issue where healing and ranged attacks could reach through walls and gates.Fixed an issue where the flame circle was placed around the caster instead of around the enemy.Fixed an issue where enemies and NPCs could pass straight through stairs.Existing save data can still be used.We look forward to your feedback.Read full article on Community Announcements (tk_works)Patch NotesOfficial
Rally the Parties — v0.3.0 Update
v0.3.0 is a major update that introduces a map selection system — the foundation for the updates to come. Through dungeons of different flavors, we'll gradually broaden the variety of play. As the first step, we've added two maps featuring missions with distinct objectives. We've also given enemies their own behaviors and traits to make each one stand out. Map Selection System AddedYou can now choose which map (dungeon) to take on at the start. Going forward, we'll use this system to gradually add maps with different flavors and broaden the variety of play. Random selection is supported as well. Rescue & Seal Missions"Rescue the Captives" is a dungeon where you rescue captives and have them join your party. It introduces sealed rooms that trap all who enter until every enemy inside is defeated. A captive held in a sealed room can be freed and made a companion."Break the Seals" is a dungeon with chambers waiting to be unsealed. Each sealed chamber restricts who may enter by gender, role, and party size, so only companions who meet its conditions can step inside. You lead a party of three from the very start. More Distinct EnemiesWe've given the enemies that appear in the later stages their own behaviors and traits, making each one's character clearer. The Dark Knight reliably blocks attacks from the front, the Dark Mage casts spells that strike several foes at once, and the Dark Priest heals its allies while also attacking with dark magic. ImprovementsTuned and expanded combat sound effects, making it easier to read what's happening in the heat of battle.Added descriptions for each setting on the map, class, and rank selection screen, as well as the options screen.Reworked the reach of melee attacks and the range of block detection to feel more natural. Bug FixesFixed melee attack and block detection so that it matches the position and facing you see on screen.Fixed an issue where some state was not restored correctly when saving or loading.Fixed an issue where allie...Read full article on Community Announcements (tk_works)Patch NotesOfficial
Rally the Parties — v0.2.1 Update
It's only been a short while since our last major update, but v0.2.1 is already here. The main changes this time are the new real-time modes, expanded language support, and smoother controls for special attacks.New Real-Time ModesYou can now choose how time flows from three settings: Semi-Real-Time, Real-Time, and Full Real-Time. The default, Semi-Real-Time, works just as before — time stops while your character is standing still. In Real-Time, time keeps advancing whenever your character is free to act, and in Full Real-Time, the world keeps moving even while windows such as the order window are open. We suggest starting with Semi-Real-Time to get comfortable, then switching over if you'd like a more tense, real-time pace.Expanded Language SupportSpanish (β) has been added to the languages you can select in the options, so even more players around the world can enjoy the game. Because it's based on machine translation, some text may contain errors, but we plan to improve it little by little based on player feedback. If there's interest, we'll also consider supporting other languages.Smoother Special AttacksWhen you want to use a special attack but are short on SP/MP, you can now spend an Energy Potion to perform it — as long as Auto-use Potions is enabled. And just like normal attacks, if you press the button again during the recovery after a special attack, the next one fires as soon as the recovery ends. That means you can keep chaining special attacks simply by pressing the button repeatedly.ImprovementsRange display and target selection are now fully in sync.Adjusted the pre- and post-attack delay for each class.Salamanders are now immune to fire attacks.Added a short input delay to the selection windows when picking up equipment or recruiting NPCs, preventing accidental inputs. On game over or game clear, the result window now appears only after the enemy's damage animation finishes.Bug FixesFixed an issue where the item list in the order window could extend be...Read full article on Community Announcements (tk_works)
