  Devlog #2 — Concept Art & New Creative Collaborations

  Hello everyone,I’m currently continuing the development of The Floral Princes, and this second devlog is focused on an important part of the game’s visual identity: the concept artworks.Until now, the project has been mainly developed and directed by me as an independent creator. But as the world of Floralia grows, I’m now starting to collaborate with freelance artists to help bring the game’s artistic vision to the next level.These collaborations are focused on creating concept artworks for the game, including character designs, outfits, mood pieces, and visual references that will help define the atmosphere of The Floral Princes more clearly.The goal is not only to make the game more beautiful, but also to strengthen its identity: a dark fantasy otome universe, elegant, romantic, mysterious, and emotionally intense.I’m still leading the creative direction of the project, but working with freelance artists allows me to refine the visual world of Floralia and prepare stronger references for the next stages of production.I’m very excited to share this step with you, because concept art is where many ideas start becoming real. The Steam page for The Floral Princes has only been live for a few days, without a single trailer or marketing campaign, and there are already over 50 of you from all over the world (from the US to China, Europe, and Brazil!) who have wishlisted the game.A huge and sincere thank you for believing in this project. Seeing that the dark universe of Floralia is already resonating with you is the best reward I could ask for.The Story Behind Studio Eden AstralWhat you see on this page today is the result of two years of relentless solo hard work. For the past two years, I have been coding the game from scratch, writing every line of dialogue, designing the turn-based combat mechanics, writing the lyrics, and composing the music for our cursed princes.Being a solo indie developer on a project of this scale requires making choices to keep moving forward. That is why, as transparently stated on the store page, I used AI generation tools to create the current visuals and audio mock-ups. These placeholders allowed me to bring the Zen Garden to life and show you the exact Gothic Fantasy art direction I had in mind.But I have a major announcement to make today.The "Glow-Up" is Coming: Transitioning to 100% Human-Made!AI has been a fantastic prototyping tool, but it will never replace the soul and emotion of real artists. I am thrilled to announce that the production budget for the game is about to be officially unlocked!What does this mean for The Floral Princes? As soon as the funds are secured, I will be working with talented freelance artists and professional sound engineers. Absolutely all game assets (backgrounds, character sprites, UI, as well as the music mixing) will be completely remade by hand by human artists.
