About this game

On a morning when Minsu sets out to deliver a letter to the girl he likes, a single letter leads to unexpected encounters and events, gradually taking his day in a direction he never anticipated.

1daYs is a 2D pixel-art narrative adventure that follows one boy through a long and extraordinary day.

Travel between home, the neighborhood, and school as you talk to the people around you and explore a variety of locations.
Help others with their problems, find the items you need, and uncover notes and clues scattered throughout the world. As the day unfolds, the relationships and stories hidden beneath its ordinary surface gradually come to light.

Discover where the day that began with a single letter will lead.

    [Devlog] 4. Interactions in 1daYs

Hello! In this devlog, I’d like to introduce the basic gameplay and interaction system of 1daYs.As Minsu, players explore various locations around the school and neighborhood, talk to people, look at objects in their surroundings, and search for useful items. When Minsu approaches a character or object he can interact with, the available actions will appear in a menu. The available actions depend on the target and the current situation. Looking around to see what you can interact with is also part of the gameplay. TalkTalk is one of the most important actions in 1daYs. Not every conversation will be important, but speaking with others may reveal something new. They may tell you about their own lives or share their thoughts on what is currently happening. Information that does not seem important at first may also help you understand a different situation later. Most of what you learn about the people and events in the game comes through conversation. LookSome objects can be looked at more closely. They may contain something unusual, or they may simply be ordinary objects left where they belong.Even looking at an everyday object can be part of the fun. It might also provide a clue about something that will happen later. UseSome objects can be used rather than simply looked at. You can turn on a TV, open a newspaper, or operate certain objects and machines. Not every object can be used, so finding one that can often means there is something worth trying. TakeAs you explore different locations, you may find items that can be taken. These items can be kept and later used in another situation or given to a particular character. Some are required to progress through the story, while others can be left undiscovered.By taking a closer look around, you may find items that can help with someone’s request or unlock additional conversations. GiveYou can give items to characters who may need them. Sometimes you will search for an item after receiving a request, while at other times you...

[Devlog] 3. The Students of Class 2-7

Hello! In this devlog, I would like to introduce the main characters of Class 2-7.I think being in the same class creates a rather unique kind of relationship. Students cannot choose which class they are assigned to, but sharing a classroom can become one of the strongest connections they form at school.Still, being classmates does not mean everyone knows each other well. Some students see each other every day but have hardly ever spoken, while even close friends may not fully understand what the other person is thinking. How do the students of Class 2-7 see one another? And what kinds of relationships and emotions lie between them?MinsuMinsu is the protagonist of 1daYs. On the day he finally decides to give a letter to the girl he likes, he instead finds himself caught up in a series of troublesome situations. He is not someone who particularly stands out in the classroom. He is simply an ordinary second-year high school student.Although he can occasionally be surprisingly bold, he usually keeps to himself. He spends his school days talking with the other boys or exchanging pointless jokes with his friend Hyun-woo.He has trouble turning down requests, and he can also be a little too curious for his own good. The decisions Minsu makes that day will be up to you.Yeon-seoYeon-seo can often be found quietly reading a book in the classroom. She is rarely seen talking with the other students, but she often chats with her best friend Ha-yoon, who sits in front of her.Despite her usually quiet demeanor, Yeon-seo also has a surprisingly fiery side. Anyone seeing it for the first time may be surprised by how different she can seem.Getting close to Yeon-seo may feel difficult at first. As the story progresses, however, you will gradually come to understand what kind of person she is.Ha-yoonBright and charming, Ha-yoon is something of an idol among the boys of Class 2-7.As a member of the Student Council, she is often out of the classroom during breaks and always seems to stand out ...

    [Update] 1daYs Demo 0.1.74t Update

Hello.I have added a new feature and fixed several known bugs. New FeatureMap NotificationsNotifications have been added to the map to help make story progression smoother. It is now easier to see if there are any missed conversations with other characters, or where new story events can be continued.A marker will appear on the map when a location has a new conversation with another character or a story event that can be progressed. The map only shows locations that are currently accessible or places you have already visited. For locations that cannot be moved to directly from the map, a question mark will appear near the related nearby location.Markers may not appear for certain events, such as obtaining items or collections, or playing minigames. Bug FixesFixed an issue where Minsu’s position could end up outside the room when entering through a room transition.Fixed an issue where loading would not complete when loading autosaved data after finishing the demo. Please look forward to the full version as well.Thank you.

[Devlog] 2. A Day That Begins on the Street

Hello. In this devlog, I’d like to introduce some of the locations that serve as the setting for 1daYs.In the previous post, I briefly talked about what kind of game 1daYs is. This time, I’d like to talk a little more about the places the player will pass through during the day.The locations I’ll be introducing this time are places you’ll also be able to visit in the demo: the front of Minsu’s house, the bus stop, and the schoolyard. These are not especially grand or unusual places within the game. However, in 1daYs, they are the first places a high school student encounters on an ordinary morning commute. They may be everyday scenes that people pass by all the time, but because of that, even small changes can stand out a little more.Everyday Scenery in KoreaOne thing I focused on when creating the backgrounds for 1daYs was making them feel like places that could actually exist in an ordinary neighborhood.Since the game is set in Korea from the late 1990s to the early 2000s, I also wanted to capture that atmosphere.Alleys lined with detached houses, old walls, utility poles and overhead wires, small shops, street stalls, bus stops, and roads leading to school. These may feel very familiar to some people, and a little unfamiliar to others. But I felt that the sense of everyday life in these places was important for shaping the atmosphere of the game.Even when a day turns out differently than usual, it often begins in ordinary places like these. In Front of the HouseThe front of the house is where Minsu’s day begins. This area was created based on the feeling of a detached house in a typical Korean alley. In some ways, this kind of scenery hasn’t changed all that much between then and now.A low wall, small items placed in front of the house, a gate with signs of long use, and the little traces of daily life around the yard.I also wanted to include the slightly untidy feeling of a neighborhood alley.Of course, both then and now, apartments make up a large part of Korea’s reside...
