About this game
Take part in the eternal battle between Mushrooms and Engineers!

Your Engineer will battle through 20 waves of fungal mayhem culminating in a showdown with the Boss Mushroom commanding the hordes in each land.
Each mushroom you kill drops a different type of spore. Spend these on powerful upgrades of your choice at the shop between each wave. No RNG, pick the exact build you want.
You choose which enemies you will face by upgrading their spawn rate in the shop, affecting the number of each type of spores you will pick up. Choose wisely to be able to craft your perfect build.
Multiple maps, an upgrade shop with many many upgrades, and a whole roster of Engineers each with their own weapon, passives and unique upgrades. Engineers are unlocked by completing maps and other achievements.
The Engineer wields a deadly rapid fire nail-gun and through his years of health and safety training now takes 30% less damage from melee attacks!
Electrical Engineer "Sparky" - Uses an taser he upgraded himself to bounce electrical bolts from mushroom to mushroom. Has been shocked so many times that when he is hit his attacker will be momentarily stunned and take some damage.
Discover the other Engineers* in game!

Gold Spore Shop and Toast Notifications
Finally added something to do with the gold spores you've been collecting! The Gold Spore Shop. Currently not too impressive, as there is only one item in the demo - Custom Engineer Skins. But lots more will be available in the full game. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46120298/720b0c32c78d70ea786bbcea7f6ed8a8b59eb705.png Also added toast notifications for informing players of important information. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46120298/665e174a8ca3e6cb6f2e3f0bf16cc6d0a409894e.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (Badger)Patch NotesOfficial
Big Demo Update - Turrets and Shop + More!
New Features Sentry Turrets - A new Brown upgrade bolts a turret together at the start of every wave, up to five of them. They pick their own targets, never blink, and are packed away when the wave ends. Turret Conversions - Each spore colour can convert one plain turret into a specialist. You need a spare, unconverted turret before a conversion can be bought, so plan how many Sentry Turrets you want first. Flaming Turret (Red) - Bolts a blowtorch to one turret. The shots barely sting, but the burn they leave behind does the work. Protection Turret (Blue) - Throws out the gun and bolts on a deflector dish. It fires nothing; instead every engineer standing in its field takes less damage from every source. Medical Guardian (Green) - Swaps the gun for a first-aid laser and holds a healing beam on the nearest engineer, topping them up while they fight. Sniper Turret (Purple) - A scope and some patience. Hits hard from most of the way across the map, but takes its time between shots. Encouragement Beacon (Evil) - This turret has moved into management. It won't fire a shot, but everyone inside its field deals more damage with everything they own. Aura Rings - The Protection Turret and Encouragement Beacon draw a shimmering ring at exactly the reach of their field, so you can see where to stand. Engineer Rage - Nothing focuses the mind like being one hit from the graveyard. Drop below a health threshold and your engineer glows red, firing and moving faster. Shorter Fuse raises the threshold; Adrenaline Overdrive makes the boost bigger. Cap Shot (Evil) - One shot, one very surprised (and dead) mushroom. Scared Engineer (Green) - When spooked (damaged) by mushrooms, your engineer finds a burst of speed. Shroom Weaken (Green) - Every mushroom you shoot takes more damage afterwards. Extra Weakness deepens it, Longer Debuff makes it last longer. Elite Spawn Rate Upgrades - The Brown tab now sells elite spawn rates per colour alongside the normal ones, for players who want the r...Read full article on Community Announcements (Badger)Patch NotesOfficial
Improvements and Bug Fixes - Patch Notes 03/07/2026
New Features Spore Merging - Nearby spores of the same colour now drift together and merge into a single, visibly bigger spore, making big drops easier to spot and scoop up. Welcome Screen - New players are greeted with a quick welcome screen before their first run, with a "don't show again" option. Player Health Bar - A slim health bar now floats above the engineer at all times, so you can keep an eye on your HP without checking the HUD. Balance Changes Green Mushrooms Rebalanced - Green mushrooms now burst into toxic orbs when they die, instead of leaving a poison trail while alive. Elites still leave poison puddles too, on top of their death burst. Bug Fixes Blue Orb Visuals Fixed - Purple mushrooms' blue projectile orbs were rendering cropped; they now display at their correct size. Controller Rumble Fixed - Rumble no longer buzzes a controller that isn't actually being used to play. Other Changes Smoother Waves - Enemies, enemy bullets, spawn indicators, and player projectiles are now recycled behind the scenes instead of being recreated every time, cutting down on hitches during busy waves. Bomb Throw Polish - Thrown bombs (Ice, Knock, Stink, Curse, Cluster) now puff up slightly in flight for a more satisfying lob. Game Over / Victory Screen Polish - A brief animated banner now plays before the results panel eases in. Farm map tiles refreshed with new grass artwork. Added new sound effects for the Knock Bomb and Cluster Bomb. Clarified and re-worded several upgrade descriptions (including renaming "Magnetic Personality" to "Spore Magnet" and "Mycelial Curse" to "Mycelial Infection").Read full article on Community Announcements (Badger)Patch NotesOfficial
Evil Beams and Accessibility (Patch Notes 19/06/2026)
{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46120298/aa60cf0fd75a4994f7d241cd3e8513e0fda8d272.png New Features Evil Beam (Evil Upgrade) - A new weapon upgrade that fires an evil beam piercing straight through every mushroom in its path. Upgrade it further with More Evil Beam (extra damage) and Chonky Evil Beam (extra width). Spawn Indicators - Mushrooms now telegraph where they are about to appear, giving you a moment to reposition before they arrive. Gold Spores Rework - Gold Spores are no longer spent in the shop. They are now a persistent collectable currency, tracked as a running total across your run. Accessible Font Option - A new option to switch the entire interface from the pixel font to a cleaner, more readable font. The whole UI rescales to match, so every menu and HUD stays neatly laid out.Other Changes Brighter CRT Filter - The CRT screen effect no longer dims the picture so heavily. You keep the scanlines, curvature and vignette, just with a brighter image overall (with an extra boost on Steam Deck). Wave Complete Screen - Rewritten with rich text formatting for a clearer, more readable summary. Tidier Shop - Maxed-out upgrades now take up less vertical space in the shop. Controls Reminder - The game now reminds you of the controls if you haven't dashed yet. Refreshed and added new mushroom artwork, and tweaked the engineer's shadow. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46120298/50debff5ec546cf1c0ae00a59863ee1f939c5390.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (Badger)Patch NotesOfficial
Patch Notes 16/06/2026 - Feeling and Looking Better!
New Features Wave Countdown - The end of each wave is now much clearer. The final few seconds play a countdown sound and the on-screen timer grows and turns orange-red, so you always know when the wave is about to end. Map Previews - The map select screen now displays a screenshot of each map, so you can see where you're heading before you drop in. Enemy Projectile Outlines - All enemy bullets now have outlines, making them far easier to spot against busy backgrounds.Bug Fixes Black Hole - Mushrooms no longer overshoot and ping-pong through the centre of a Black Hole. They are now pulled in smoothly and held in the core until it expires, taking damage over time. Bombs - Ice Bomb, Black Hole Bomb and other area-of-effect bombs now reliably damage all nearby enemies on detonation. Co-op Dash - Fixed dashing not working correctly in local co-op. Co-op Robot Shrooms - Robot Shrooms are now correctly assigned to the player that spawned them. Ice Walls - Fixed the ice walls on the Frozen Wasteland map.Other Changes Reworked the main menu and options menu, with cleaner navigation between sub-menus and tidier button behaviour (buttons no longer animate while disabled). Enlarged the controls overlay so the input prompts are easier to read. Updated the menu background and button styling to match the new artwork. {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46120298/d8f14222ae951345d4fb0e442b3ffa1c20b1bd13.png {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46120298/edecf9ef66645c107fff7dbed177f5871e548b9e.png{STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46120298/ae603f3d4f4985370a252ca0d45e1bd5b3e55618.pngRead full article on Community Announcements (Badger)
