About this game

A strategy/4X game where you take over space, made by hotshot game developer Gideon Kennedy of Gerrymap fame.

Spaceman's Luck is like lightning crystallized into a video game. It shuns classic principles of the genre (being boring and sucking) and embraces 4V: Vitality, Vigor, Virtue, and Virility. You colonize space, while trying to expand in the most Advantageous way. You go from star to star, and each one has planets. Some planets are Really Good, others Aren't. Some stars are Far, and others Close. Do I need to say more...?

This is where the patented Luck mechanic comes in. A good Spaceman's Luck will allow you to win somewhat easily, and a bad Spaceman's Luck will kill you in real life. There are four default races representing the Tremendous Diversity of this wonderful Galaxy (and the 4 V's): the Humans, Space Elves, Space Orcs, and Space Ants. Each has their own Strengths and Weaknesses.

Do you have a Spaceman's Luck?

    I updated the demo x3

The game is actually good now. It is! I wasted like 4 hours today and 5 yesterday, playing it. Before, I did not do that. Anyway, as for changelog, I changed a ton of things but basically you only need a high school diploma to play this game now. It has issues still, with war primarily. And diplomacy. There's no ability to terraform planets yet. Or to build large things in space... Or a save system, or to create races... But it's coming! Even in this fetal state the game is very fun, at least to me. I think this may be the last update to the demo, and everything after this, you will have to pay for!

    I updated the demo x2

A mini-update to demo, mostly usability-related changes. ChangelogThere's very little text so I added translations (Are they good? Well, maybe slightly better than if I just put it into google translate. If English speakers already have trouble understanding it, then I shudder to think of the nationalistic vitriol I could receive from the Russians and Chinese...)Fleet split thing doesn't snap back when the game is playing. So you can move it out of the way if you have game playing, without needing to pause it randomly.Research text goes blue when you have enough points to get a tech, and aren't researching one currently. There are progress bars for colonizing stars and planets. And also for assimilation and genocide on planets. It also shows you the turns it will take in a more obvious manner which is cool. The help menu is now minimally helpful rather than saying "This is a placeholder." MINIMALLY helpful. I have to at least give a pretense that this is a game people want to play.Galactic council thing is smaller, looks better. It also no longer gives you a choice to say no to it. If another player wins, you have no choice but to say Dang! and lose the game, if you win, you can't keep going to manually kill all your enemies. Some may say this encroaches on player freedom. But I think that if there's a way to end the game, 99% of players should just pick that. Saying no to it is just a joke thing. If you win then you win. That's my motto. And if you disagree fuck youRemoved a bunch of random-ass star names. I didn't even have Polaris in there so I added that. Some of them had stupid names. Like Skat. I got a system with gas giants, 4 gas giants, called Skat. I thought it was funny. But it's no good.Colonization button on planets is not disabled if you don't have enough money. You click it, it shows you how much you need and disables the "Yes" on the confirmation popup. That way you know how much you need rather than randomly being like, no you can't colonize. Why can't...
