Turn-based tactics where a modern army faces orcs, demons, and worse. Your soldiers are human — take too many hits and they break, panic, and flee the line. Artillery doesn't care who stands beside its target. Take back a world where the rules of war no longer apply.
About this game
🎮 FREE DEMO AVAILABLE
Play the opening missions right now — the free demo is available on this page. Then tell us what you think on our Discord (community links on this page). Your feedback shapes the game.Days Of Reckoning: Last Battle is a turn-based tactical strategy where a modern army fights back against orcs, demons — and worse. Command elite squads mission by mission, hold the line, and uncover what tore the world apart.
Your Soldiers Are Human
- Every hit your units take chips away at their morale
- Hesitation has a price — morale erodes when soldiers stay idle too long
- Broken units panic: they abandon your orders and flee, burning their action points
- Experienced units perform better — and losing them hurts more
Deep Tactical Combat
- Grid-based battles where positioning decides everything
- Use cover, elevation, and line of sight
- Combine unit abilities for maximum effect
- Artillery hits an area — friendly fire is real, and deadly
The War Is Bigger Than One Battle
- Choose your missions across a dynamic world map
- Secure regions to gain resources and advantages
- Unlock new areas, uncover hidden threats, decide where to strike next
The battlefield is silent.
The signal is broken.
And whatever attacked… isn't done yet.

Development Update – Bringing the Battlefield to Life
Over the last few weeks, I've been working on one of the biggest visual improvements to Days Of Reckoning: Last Battle. The goal wasn't simply to make the game look better, but to make every battlefield feel more alive and responsive.🌿 Scatter, Grass & Dynamic EnvironmentOne of the biggest additions is the new terrain scatter and grass system.Different biomes now feature richer vegetation, making battlefields feel much more natural and varied. But the new grass isn't just decoration—it actively reacts to what's happening during combat.Units leave visible trails as they move through the grass, explosions flatten nearby vegetation, and grass can now catch fire. Even better, the fire is able to spread across the battlefield, creating dynamic scenes and making combat feel more immersive.🪨 Rock CliffsI've also introduced new rock cliffs across the maps. These help break up large open areas, improve the overall silhouette of the terrain, and give each battlefield a stronger identity. Combined with the new vegetation, the environments now look much more believable.🌊 Better Looking WaterWater has also received a significant visual overhaul.Instead of a static surface, lakes and rivers now feature subtle movement that makes them feel much more natural while remaining clean and readable during gameplay.Small details like this help the entire battlefield feel more alive.🐞 Lots of Bug FixesVisual improvements weren't the only focus.During the closed playtest I've received a lot of valuable feedback, and I've spent a significant amount of time fixing bugs, improving stability, and polishing gameplay systems.Every bug fixed brings the upcoming public demo one step closer to the quality I'm aiming for. What's Next? The visual improvements are coming together nicely, but there's still plenty of work ahead before the public demo.I'll continue polishing gameplay, improving performance, fixing reported issues, and adding the remaining systems needed for the first public release.Thank you...Read full article on Community Announcements (developer)Patch NotesOfficial
Terrain Vegetation Update – Biomes & Destructible Grass
Hello everyone!Work on the battlefield environment continues, and I'm happy to share another development update.Terrain vegetation is progressing nicely, and the world is starting to feel much more alive. I'm currently implementing different biomes, each featuring its own style of grass and vegetation to create more varied and visually interesting battlefields. Each biome has its own atmosphere and vegetation style, helping every map feel unique instead of using the same visual assets everywhere. My goal is to make every battlefield immediately recognizable while still fitting the game's overall style.Battle leaves its mark. 💥 Explosions now destroy nearby grass, leaving visible scars across the landscape after intense fighting. Although this is primarily a visual feature, it makes battles feel much more dynamic and believable. There is still plenty of polishing ahead, but I'm very happy with the direction these environmental improvements are taking. Small environmental details like these help create a world that feels much more alive and reactive to the player's actions.Thank you for following the development of Days Of Reckoning: Last Battle and for all your support! If you like what you see, don't forget to Wishlist the game on Steam—it really helps an indie developer and ensures you won't miss future updates.See you on the battlefield!Nice 2 HaveRead full article on Community Announcements (developer)AnnouncementsOfficial
