About this game
SoulBound — Fragments of Lys is a cooperative action game for 1 to 4 players built around epic boss battles. Hard by design. Fair by principle. Impossible to put down once you start to understand.
The Challenge
Inspired by the souls-like philosophy, every guardian has readable patterns, learnable mechanics and an unforgiving margin for error. You will die. You will learn. And when you finally win, you will know exactly why.
Encounters are designed as miniature raids — with visual telegraphs, safe zones, DPS checks, phase transitions and an enrage state that completely transforms the boss's pattern. Two random players and four coordinated friends are entirely different experiences.
Weekly Affixes
Every weekly reset, the world changes. Global modifiers alter the rules of every encounter — forcing new strategies, new group compositions and a real reason to come back every week.
- Enraged — all guardians start the encounter already in their enrage state
- Deep Curse — debuffs last twice as long
- Resurgence — guardians regenerate HP whenever they stop taking damage
- Growing Abyss — the arena shrinks over time
- Echo of Lys — each defeated guardian leaves a specter that repeats its deadliest attacks
Complete the weekly challenge before the reset to earn exclusive rewards.
Four Classes, Endless Combinations
Every class has exclusive 3-hit combos, unique abilities and an Ultimate that can turn lost battles around. In group play, class synergies unlock bonuses no solo player can achieve.
- Warrior — absolute resilience, master of close-range combat
- Mage — area spells and crowd control that redefine the battlefield
- Healer — the group's foundation; without timing mastery, no one survives
- Archer — ranged precision, target marking and tactical support
Progression
- Skill Tree — permanent unlocks that change your playstyle, not just your numbers
- Forge & Crafting — guardian materials become equipment that modifies abilities and combos
- Per-Encounter Rankings — from Rank C to Rank S, every guardian has a score based on time and execution
- Global Leaderboards — compare with players worldwide; in multiplayer, the board records the full group composition
Cooperative Multiplayer
- Online co-op for up to 4 players via Steam
- Dedicated server support
- Guardian HP scales with player count
- Group mechanics active only in co-op
- Invite friends directly through the Steam overlay

The Forge Reborn
Gear that grows with you, affixes to shape your build, and the Echoes of Lys to push every boss as far as you dare. This update rebuilds the game's power progression. Instead of gear leveling up on its own, now you decide what to strengthen, personalize it with affixes, and choose how far to push each boss — fully cooperative from start to finish. ⚒️ Equipment Upgrades Gear no longer scales by itself with difficulty. Now you level up your weapon and gear by spending boss materials — a direct, monster-hunter-style upgrade system. Each upgrade level raises the item's stats (and your ability damage along with it). Progression under your control: prioritize the weapon, armor, or accessories that fit your playstyle. No more "treadmill" — power isn't reset every difficulty tier. What you build, you keep. ✨ Affix System Reforge your gear at the Forge to roll passive affixes — bonuses that shape your build. Each item gets 1 to 4 slots based on rarity (Uncommon → Legendary), you can lock the good affixes and reroll the rest, and every roll has a quality (%) that sets how strong the bonus is. Attributes Vitality — + Max HP Focus — + Max Mana Strength — + Attack Guard — + Physical defense Aegis — + Magical defense Resistance — + Elemental resistance Swiftness — + Movement speed Combat & Utility Precision — + Critical chance Arcane — + Ability damage Brutality — + Critical damage Vampirism — Lifesteal on hits Alacrity — Cooldown reduction Thrift — Chance to refund mana Momentum — + Damage at high HP (above 80%) Vigor — HP regeneration per second Pyre — Your melee hits apply burn (damage over time) Stronger affixes require higher-rarity gear to roll — they're build customization and identity, not power-creep: the game stays challenging. 🔥 Echoes of Lys — Mythic Difficulty (NG+) On each boss briefing you now pick the fight's Mythic LEVEL. Raising the Echo increases the boss's HP and damage — and improves the quality of the materials and items it drops. A true NG+ system: replay a...Read full article on Community Announcements (xqf)AnnouncementsOfficial

Smarter Bosses — The Era of Combos
In this update, bosses now READ what you do and respond with real tactics. The Spider Queen got more lethal, and the Dark Knight was almost completely overhauled around a new AI pattern: dodgeable setup -> debuff -> devastating follow-up on the affected target. ⚔️ Dark Knight — Overhauled Dark Oath (NEW): a shadow beam cuts through the ENTIRE arena, from the boss to the opposite edge. TOTAL damage is DIVIDED among all players hit — in co-op, allies can stand between the boss and the target to mitigate (classic MMO raid "share damage" mechanic). In the FINAL PHASE, the strike becomes LETHAL: only dodging saves you. Shadow Seals (NEW): the Knight scatters purple seals on the ground — 1 on each player + perpendicular seals to cut strafe + 1 back seal in the final phase. Step on one? You take STUN. Execution Combo (NEW — Smart AI): the coolest part. The boss READS who got hit by Shadow Seals and prioritizes Dark Oath on that target, guaranteeing the execution. Dodged the seals? Boss looks for other tactics. Got caught? Brace yourself. Curse (NEW — Smart DoT): INSTANT cast. Marks 1 player with CURSE (purple DoT, 5s, ~5% HP/s = ~25% HP total without dispel). But the boss is clever: it only uses this skill if there's a Healer in the party — because it knows that without a dispeller the mechanic has no counter. No healer in the comp, no curse. Healer died? Tough luck: curse keeps firing till the end. Removed: "Soak Circle" mechanic (enter to absorb) — redundant with the rest of the kit. 🩺 Healer — New Counter Heal now CLEANSES Curse from any healed ally. Curse cooldown (~22s) matches Heal cooldown (26s), creating a tight window: heal off-timing = next curse arrives before heal returns, and the victim has to rely on potions until reset. Heal skill description updated to reflect the new cleanse role. 🕷️ Spider Queen — Adjustments Pulling Web: slow during escape increased from 30% to 55%. Getting out of the circle is real work now. Geysers: VFX now fits inside the damage area ...Read full article on Community Announcements (xqf)Patch NotesOfficial
Combat & Balance Overhaul
h2]💥 Damage & Combat All classes deal significantly more damage — basic attacks, skills, and ultimates were rebalanced upward. Skill damage increased across the board. Leveling up now increases your attack — your power genuinely grows each level, not only through gear. 🧙 Classes Mana regeneration increased for all classes. Healer: basic attack damage increased (more self-sufficiency). Healer — Divine Blessing (ultimate): now heals 60% of the team's max HP (was a full heal). Still a powerful team save, but no longer a full reset of the fight. Slight movement speed tuning to give combat more weight. 🐉 Bosses & Difficulty Boss health now scales far more steeply between phases. Each boss is a clearly bigger step than the last: early bosses are more approachable, while the late ones become true endurance fights. 🤝 Co-op Bosses are more aggressive in groups: the more players, the more often the boss acts — nobody stands idle. Co-op difficulty comes from MECHANICS and coordination, not from an inflated health bar. 📈 Progression & Gear Weapons, rings, and accessories rescaled with much higher attack to match the new boss curve — endgame gear is dramatically more powerful. Weapon progression fixed: each boss-tier weapon is now a clear upgrade over the previous one. Crafting the right tier of gear matters more than ever. 🐛 Bug Fixes Fixed: XP lost on death. The XP you earn is now saved — dying no longer wipes your recent progress. Fixed: the Forest Guardian granting far too little XP. Fixed: the Healer's heal-over-time heart effect getting stuck on screen after healing. Fixed: an inconsistency in skill damage calculation. As always, thanks for playing SoulBound! Let us know how the new balance feels.Read full article on Community Announcements (xqf)
