About this game

Hold'em Fold'em Poker is a relaxed, no-nonsense take on Texas Hold'em, built to be simple and easy to play — over an evening with friends, or solo with bots, with a smooth 80s lounge soundtrack taking you through to the river.

No pay-to-win. No mystery loot boxes. No energy timers. No premium currency. Just card cosmetics for your hand that don't affect gameplay in any way.

Play with friends in seconds

Hosting a game is quick and easy. Full Steam friends integration, with lobbies and game invites handled through Steam. Peer-to-peer networking with host migration — if the host drops, the game carries on.

Make it yours

The play area offers extensive customization via your own custom content or from other players in the Steam Workshop; decks, card backs, table felts, chip sets, reactions, cursors... even the music.

Built to be played, not farmed

  • 2–8 player Texas Hold'em over Steam P2P

  • Solo Play vs. bots with four personality presets — Mixed, Passive, Balanced, Aggressive. No internet required.

  • Casual and Tournament Game modes customizable to suit your mood with a no-fuss menu system

  • Five bespoke knockout effects — busting out is an event

  • Game Save & Resume function for solo play

  • Find Public Games browser for public matches

  • Full Controller Support with Xbox, DualSense or Steam controller

  • Original 80s inspired lounge soundtrack with custom track support

  • Deep cosmetic customization and Steam Workshop support

  • Optional cosmetic DLC with animated card finishes

  • Reactions, chat, and nudges for players

  • Fully localised in 16 languages

  • No ads, energy meters, or in-game currencies

A note on Steam Deck support

Hold'em Fold'em Poker is currently Steam Deck aware. It is playable but some fonts and icons may read as small for some users.

    Hold'em Fold'em New Game Mode - CHEAT!

Adding a few casual games seems like the next logical move for Hold'em Fold'em Poker. So first on the list is the classic game of Cheat! Simple rules and fun for a quick game with your friends. The initial plan is to give everyone the ability to play this mode solo but to play multiplayer, the Host needs to own a copy of the Cheat Multiplayer DLC. Everyone else who connects can join with just the base game. We'll monitor player feedback on this model and will adjust if necessary. It seems like the fairest way to fund further development whilst also letting everyone try it out against the custom Cheat bots.If you'd like to opt-in to the beta, the beta-branch code is: holdempublicbetaPlease Note!: The Beta branch is incompatible with the main version of the game for multiplayer, so only switch over if you're ok with that.

    V1.004 Patch Notes

New Languages — now 165 new languages: Português (Brasil), Português (Portugal), Italiano, Tiếng Việt, and Traditional Chinese (繁體中文).All Steam achievements localised into every supported language.A translated README now ships alongside the game for each language.Fixed the "waiting for more players" message not switching language until a restart.New House Rules & Game SetupMax re-buys — cap how many times a busted player can buy back into a cash game, from Unlimited down to "None (bust = out)". (Beta)Cash game over — when a capped game plays down to one survivor, the winner gets a proper spotlight-and-confetti celebration, then the table restarts automatically with the original line-up.Bots top up between hands — short-stacked bots refill to the starting stack between hands, keeping the action deep. (Beta)Blinds pre-sets — cash games can now run at 1/2, 5/10 or 25/50, with starting stacks scaling to match.New bot style: "Bully" — a relentless post-flop aggressor, available from the bot-style dropdown.Bot styles now survive host migration and saved-game resumes — your table keeps its personality.Every re-buy now shows a toast with the amount, and hosting a public lobby with a re-buy cap shows a heads-up about mid-game joiners.Bots no longer fold to re-raises that cost them nothing to call.Controller & Steam Deck (Beta)Bigger, clearer text everywhere — the whole UI now clears Valve's Steam Deck legibility bar, with special attention to Russian, Ukrainian and German.Button prompts now match your controller — PlayStation shapes, Nintendo layout, Steam Deck and Xbox all show their own glyphs.Typing with a controller — chat, your display name, lobby codes, bet amounts and Workshop titles now open Steam's on-screen keyboard. The chat box no longer vanishes when a controller is active.Navigation overhaul — the D-pad now moves logically through the sidebar, lobby menus and modals: one row per press, left/right within a row, wrap-around from top to bottom, and the sidebar's s...

V1.001 Fixes and Polish Update Notes

Hold'em Fold'em Poker V1.001Fixes — gameplay and multiplayerHosting a lobby by yourself dealt an impossible one-player hand — blinds posted, a turn timer ticking behind the "waiting for players" panel. Adding a bot now starts the game properly.Workshop publishing failed with "error 25" on larger preview images — previews are now resized automatically, and long titles no longer trip Steam's limit.Kicking a bot mid-hand no longer hands its chips to the pot — the kick now takes effect at the end of the hand, and can be cancelled.Bans now survive a host change, can be applied to players who've already disconnected, and no longer leave the ready-up screen waiting.Visual polishSatin Sheen card finish now works — it had never rendered at all.Controller: rock your hole cards with the right stick — the pad equivalent of hovering a card with the mouse, with smoothing so it eases rather than snaps.Display → Edge smoothing — new anti-aliasing toggle (Off / 2× / 4×), defaults to Off. Even with AA turned off, cards should have a much cleaner look now with less stair-stepping when in their idle animation.Bigger pots grow taller chip stacksMouse clicks skip the intro and credits (previously scroll wheel only).
