Devlog #2: We're back, and the sharks got a whole new look!

Ahoy friends! Nate the Duck here. Got some news for you guys about what we're up to! We went on vacation for a little bit during the summer! Took a few weeks off so me and the pals could enjoy the weather and the beaches, and get a nice tan on our feathers and scales. But now we're fully back to work on Sharkarama, and it's going swimmingly! First thing you may have noticed: we closed the open playtest. That's because we're cooking up some BIG changes in secret! See, two new artists joined the team, and they gave our fin-friends a whole new look. Take a look! SO exciting! Now you can really tell the sharks apart, and they've got so much more personality. The nervous one looks like he ate a raw lemon, hehehe! We're also translating the game into different languages! The store page is already up in French and Polish, and we'll do our best to add even MORE languages soon. The more friends in the Sharkarama family, the better! In September, we're going bug hunting. You guys told us about some nasty ones (thanks, streamer friends!), and we're squashing every single one we can find. I like bugs when they're food, not when they're in my game! Once that's done, we get to add the FUN stuff. New things to unlock, more sharks, prettier water, a new background, more music. We're also experimenting with some ideas to make the game even deeper. Prestige systems! More ways to hunt! That kind of stuff. We're just getting started! I want to make a game that YOU GUYS want to play. I love hearing what parts you enjoy, and what parts you would change. Wanna tell me yourself? You can sign up to join the closed playtest here. Okay, that's it! Enough quacking for today, still got loads of work to do. But I'll try to quack more often from now on, at least once a month. See you under the sea!

    Sharkarama Playtest

QUACK! We're ready for our first intake of sharkies. 🦈 Sharkarama is a cozy idle game where you collect real-life sharks. And you feed them cozily. Then you unlock newer, rarer cozy sharks. Raise a whole aquarium of cute aquatic puppies with big cozy teef. Not a great place for me to be, on account of... I'm a duck. So that's why I need YOUR help.If you wanna🎵 swim this way, we'll dance and we'll play🎵 (Disney, don't sue us, we didn't add mermaids yet), hit "Join the Playtest" right here and it'll splash straight into your library. Then, once you've played: we want the honest stuff. What's fun, what's boring, what makes you go "what the quack?" Tell us everything so we can make it more fun and keep you coming back for more. Quick form hereAnd if you wanna stay up-to-date with my adventures with our finned friends, don't forget to wishlist Sharkarama and follow us on socials. — Nate the 🦆PS: I'll have a diving suit for next time, pinky swear (except I don't have pinkies).

A demo is swimming your way

Ahoy! Nate the Duck here! {STEAM_CLAN_IMAGE}/46120948/58ea9894d456e9d2d80791b256fa2f884b99d2fc.png Got our first announcement: CHUM THE WATERS but casually We've been raising sharks behind the scenes. Your turn now. The Sharkarama demo drops this week and we want you to be the first to dive in. Here's what you'll get your hands on: Collect real shark species: from the tiny dwarf lanternshark to the mighty great white. Every species in the game is a real species that exists in our oceans. Two ways to play: sit back and watch your sharks earn passive income, or take direct control of any shark to hunt fish yourself. Yummy! Clean up the ocean: pollution is yucky. Clear it out and improve your ecosystem. Rare sharks IRL = rare sharks in the game: Every shark's rarity is tied to its real-world conservation status as per IUCN. We're a small team building this in Unity, and every shark design, soundtrack, and line of code is made by actual humans who are at least 99.9999% not robots. Wishlist Sharkarama now so you don't miss the demo. Nate the Duck, out! Quack!
