About this game

Turn a small camp into a thriving settlement in the heart of a peaceful archipelago.

Calmaria is a cozy island settlement-building game where the environment truly matters. Maintain soil fertility, manage moisture levels, expand your production chains, and defend your fields from the creatures that inhabit the archipelago. Start with a few simple tools and your first wheat field, then grow a vibrant settlement filled with farms, workshops, and advanced infrastructure.

Explore procedurally generated islands, unlock new technologies, improve your equipment, expand your production, and build a place that grows alongside you.

Build Your Settlement Your Way

Every island offers new opportunities for growth. Gather wood, stone, and other resources, carefully plan your building layouts, and gradually expand your settlement.

Construct workshops, warehouses, mills, bakeries, wells, mines, beehives, animal pens, greenhouses, and many other structures that help create a thriving economy.

There is no single correct path to success. Focus on food production, industrial expansion, exploration, or building strong defenses against incoming threats.

The Environment Matters

In Calmaria, the world is more than just a backdrop. Every part of an island has unique conditions that affect crop growth and production efficiency.

Trees improve the fertility of nearby land. Wells help maintain moisture levels. Heavy industry, however, can pollute the surrounding area and reduce crop yields.

Careful planning allows you to build more efficient farms and make better use of your island's resources.

From Wheat Fields to Advanced Production

Gather resources, process them, and create increasingly advanced goods.

Wheat becomes flour, flour becomes bread, beehives produce honey, and new technologies unlock even more opportunities. Every building and every production chain brings you closer to creating a fully self-sustaining settlement.

Research new technologies, gain experience, and discover better ways to utilize the resources of the archipelago.

A Peaceful Island Isn't Always Safe

Life on the islands can be relaxing, but nature occasionally reminds you of its presence.

Waves of creatures regularly attack your fields, fences, and buildings. Defend your settlement, collect loot from defeated enemies, and use the resources you gather to craft stronger equipment.

Better tools, rarer items, and proper preparation will help you protect everything you've worked so hard to build.

Develop Your Character and Equipment

Gain experience, complete quests, and unlock new technologies.

Craft tools, equipment, and useful items. Find better loot, collect gear of varying rarities, and upgrade your equipment to expand your settlement faster and more efficiently.

You'll also need to take care of your character's basic needs. Hunger, hydration, and health all play a role in daily life on the islands.

Explore New Islands and Hidden Treasures

Set sail beyond your settlement and discover new islands scattered across the archipelago.

Every expedition can lead to valuable resources, rare treasures, mysterious creatures, and unexpected dangers that require careful preparation. Explore beaches, caves, ruins, and hidden corners of the world to uncover secrets and gather materials needed for your settlement's growth.

Research Technologies and Automate Production

Start with simple tools and manual labor, then gradually unlock increasingly advanced technologies.

Build workshops, improve production chains, discover new crafting recipes, and expand your settlement's infrastructure. As your progress continues, you will unlock electricity, power networks, energy storage systems, automated machines, and drones that can take over many daily tasks.

Transform a small settlement into a thriving, self-sufficient production hub powered by technology and automation.

Play Solo or With Friends

Build your settlement alone or invite friends to join your world.

In cooperative multiplayer, you can build, explore, expand production, complete quests, and defend your islands together. Working as a team allows you to grow faster and create even more impressive production hubs.

    Settlers Are Here to Help!

Calmaria is slowly approaching another important milestone. The settler system is the last major feature I want to implement before moving on to testing, balance adjustments, and preparing the game for release. From the very beginning, most of the work falls on the player. You need to gather resources, plant crops, supply water, manage production, and defend the growing settlement at the same time. As the game progresses, the number of tasks increases, while advanced automation using drones only becomes available later on.This is exactly the gap that settlers are meant to fill. From a camp to a real settlementSettlers will begin to appear around the middle stage of the game. Once they join our community, they will be able to help with almost every kind of work needed to keep the island growing. They will be able to sow crops, harvest ready produce, move materials between buildings, or carry water from a well to a stable. Instead of having to keep track of every small task personally, the player will be able to focus more on expanding the settlement, discovering new islands, developing production, and preparing for upcoming threats.Settlers will not replace the later automation system based on drones. They are meant to serve as a natural step between doing everything by hand and managing an advanced production network operated by machines. Not everyone will arrive in the same wayNew inhabitants will be encountered while exploring the world. Sometimes we may spot a lone castaway drifting across the open sea. At other times, a settler may arrive at our island on their own, looking for a safe place to live. Some, however, will find themselves in much more difficult situations. While exploring dungeons, it will be possible to come across people trapped far away from the safety of the coast. Rescuing them may mean gaining not only a new inhabitant, but also another worker and defender for the settlement.Every settler is differentSettlers will not be maintenance-free machines. ...
