Eldrem is a game about fantastic spells and creatures. These spells are classified in our game according to one of the 10 elemental classes. Each element class has it’s own focus and bonuses, enhancing or damaging things in a certain way.The fantastic beasts of Eldrem will have an affinity to one of these elements, dictating their ability pool and how you can benefit from their use.Almost every species of creature in Eldrem has subspecies that have evolved with such an affinity. For example, the Ursaleo can be found in Fire, Earth or Ice variants across the Crystal Sky islands.Let’s explore the elements of Eldrem!Physical – this is the regular, run of the mill physical realm. All weapons deal physical damage, and most creatures will engage you as a physical threat with their basic attacks. Think of it like the damage of swords, claws and fangs. These represent raw power and are mitigated by armor.Earth – this element is related to the Physical, but focuses more on defense and strength. Earth creatures will be stronger than subspecies of different elements, and have spells that either increase your protection level, or stagger the enemies. Fire – is an offensive element. You can burn your enemies down fast with a Dragon’s breath, or radiate heat around you to slowly whittle your foes in combat. Fire creatures tend to be powerful on the offense, but they are not glass cannons. Most of them will also have strong elemental resistance and force of will.Ice – is power and resilience . While the bitter cold can put almost everyone on his knees, those who embrace it end up being stronger. Ice creatures have high vitality and good protection from elements. Very few things go easily through a wall of ice, including swords.Electric – creatures of this element tend to be fast, very fast! This speed can be felt in their attacks, movement and in the crackling air around them, but this comes at a cost: they tend to be more fragile and have less raw strength.Water – is the realm of...Read full article on Community Announcements (Vaipa)AnnouncementsOfficial

Hello and a big welcome from the Eldrem development team. We are excited to start this development log series, to keep you up to date with the lore, state of the game and general happenings around the game’s dev process. So, without further ado, let’s talk about The Summoner You are a summoner. By a twist of fate, or extremely powerful magic, you have a very rare (some may say unique) ability: you can tame a creature, and then summon it back to use its powers. How does that work ? In your adventures across the Crystal Sky islands, you may encounter various fantastic creatures. Some, like the Cloudsheep might be unassuming, fluffy and cute. Others, like the powerful Ursaleo may be terrifying and dangerous. When you weaken such a creature, you might be able to attempt a tame, and if the tame is successful, the soul of that creature can be re-summoned back to aid you in your adventures. Every creature has a set of abilities. You may guess them according to its element and species, but you won’t know for sure until the beast is yours. A Cloudsheep has air elemental attacks and buffs, while the Thundersheep (a close relative) focuses on speed and lightning enchantment. Summoning any creature will grant you up to three of the creature’s active abilities, and some passive buffs. These abilities stay with you as long as the creature is summoned. You still control the summoner, but you have a pal fighting besides you, and a new set of cool powers. “That's great, but what if I want more abilities ?” you may ask. That’s where your creature inventory comes in. You can have a set of up to 4 creatures (three regular creatures and only one dragon) with you. You may have only one summoned creature at the same time. However you can switch between creatures at will, as long as the creatures are alive and in a good state. Think of it like a deck of cards, where you play the desired card whenever you need it. Only difference ? The “cards” breathe fire and can fly up in the sky. You may...Read full article on Community Announcements (Vaipa)
