About this game

Form your party and embark on a fantasy adventure where every decision can change the fate of the world… and those who travel beside you.

Control multiple characters with their own backgrounds, motivations and personal conflicts as you investigate an anomaly capable of transforming reality.

Explore cities, dungeons and unknown territories while a strange corruption begins to spread across the world.

Complete quests, make difficult decisions and build relationships that will shape the story, the fate of your allies and the course of the adventure.

Some characters will change. Others will disappear. And not everyone will survive your choices.

  • Finn: A curious and impulsive young thief whose desire to uncover the unknown often leads him further than he should go. Raised in the Green Fields orphanage, Finn carries memories… and a secret that was never revealed.

  • Kael: A brutal and solitary warrior who lives by a single law: strength. He follows the law of fang and blood without hesitation.

  • Linto: A protector marked by a forbidden love and an oath impossible to break. Exiled for loving the wrong person, he now walks beneath his own banner, defending the weak.

  • Yaleb: A devoted follower haunted by an ancient truth that threatens to consume him. A faithful worshipper of the Comet.

  • Narrative inspired by tabletop RPG campaigns, with a strong focus on choices and consequences.

  • Multiple playable characters with unique abilities and personal story arcs.

  • Explore cities, dungeons and territories affected by the anomaly.

  • Tactical turn-based combat with strategic options and party management.

  • Main and side quests that influence the story and character relationships.

  • Meaningful decisions that alter dialogues, character availability and multiple endings.

  • Original art and music inspired by classic fantasy RPGs.

  • A fantasy world shaped by secrets, corruption and supernatural phenomena.

Years ago, a green sphere descended upon the continent of Baedrish. Soon after, a mysterious fog known as The Black Storm began to consume cities and distort reality.

Now, a new sphere has fallen in Escia… and history threatens to repeat itself.

In Hollow Descent, you will journey through Ganides, a land sustained by ancient core crystals, where the spread of The Black Storm threatens to shatter the balance of the world.

  • Free demo featuring the first hour of the adventure.

  • Chapter 1 includes 4–6 hours of story content, decisions and side quests.

  • The full campaign will be released episodically, with an estimated total length of 50 hours.

  • Your decisions may affect characters, events and future chapters.

As The Black Storm spreads, reality itself begins to distort… and some will not be able to resist entering it.

The fate of Ganides will depend on your choices.

The Wetlands Detour is now complete

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on a new location in Hollow Descent: the Wetlands Detour. This map represents one of the paths that crosses this dangerous region of Ganides, and it will be one of the areas players will have to travel through during their adventure. The Wetlands are a much more dangerous place than they might seem at first glance. Along their paths and swamps, players may encounter hostile creatures, hidden locations, and characters who may have their own interests. One of the things I enjoy most about working on these areas is creating paths that aren't simply a way to get from one point to another. Depending on how the party progresses, what they choose to investigate, or who they decide to talk to, different situations may arise along the way. With the Wetlands Detour now complete, I’m continuing to make steady progress on Hollow Descent, working on new maps, events, and conversations that will gradually bring the adventure to life. There’s still a lot left to do, but every new location I complete brings the world of Ganides one step closer to becoming the game I have in mind.Thank you for following the development of Hollow Descent.I hope I can show you what lies beyond the Wetlands very soon!

    Rozand Castle is now complete

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been working on one of Hollow Descent’s key locations: Rozand Castle. This map brings together several elements I want to define throughout the game: exploration, conversations with different characters, and decisions that can be approached in very different ways.Throughout the adventure, many situations will offer options tied to the party’s proficiencies. Some will reveal new information, others will open alternative paths, and sometimes the consequences won’t become clear until much later. The images in this post show a few examples of these interactions — from investigating a mysterious map to helping characters going through difficult moments.Although the castle is now complete, I’m still working on new areas, events, and conversations to bring the world of Ganides to life.Thank you for joining me on the development of Hollow Descent. I hope to share more updates with you very soon.

The world is documented as you discover it

This week I've been working on the in-game glossary system. One of the things I enjoy the most in RPGs is slowly discovering the world, its characters and the organizations that inhabit it, so I wanted to create a system that evolves alongside the player's journey. As the story progresses, new entries are added to the glossary: characters, locations, factions and chronicles that help expand the world without filling the main narrative with long explanations. Some entries simply provide background information about the world, while others may hide details, connections or events that become more important as the adventure progresses.I'm still expanding and polishing the system, but I wanted to share a small look at how the world of Hollow Descent gradually becomes documented as you play.

    I'm turning a 3-year D&D campaign into an RPG

I'm turning a 3-year Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) campaign into an RPG.Over the past few years, I've been running a campaign with my group. We started as 4 people, but over time more players joined. It's been over 50 sessions, each lasting 4–5 hours. Everything is original. And shaped by player decisions. One of the main villains, for example, wasn't planned at all. They became a villain because of something that happened during a session.About a year ago, I decided to try something ambitious: turn that entire campaign into a video game.My goal is to keep what makes tabletop RPGs special:Meaningful choicesReal consequencesCharacters who can live… or die depending on what you doAnd something that's very important to me: every NPC has their own story and reason to exist in the world.I published the Steam page 2 days ago without any promotion, just to see if this idea could resonate beyond our table. And some people have already added it to their wishlist. It may not be a lot, but seeing that someone connects with this means a lot to me.I'll keep sharing updates and progress as the game grows.
