About this game
Game Modes
Judge Mode
One player becomes the Judge, drawing a prompt card while everyone else submits the most cursed, offensive, or absurd answer they can think of. The Judge selects a winner each round, awarding them a point.
The first player to reach 7 points wins the match! assuming the Judge doesn't introduce a secret house rule that completely derails everything first.
Problematic Chess
Play chess in a world that actively hates you.
Choose from four gothic arenas and battle while a sardonic narrator comments on your every mistake, bad trade, and questionable life decision.
Variants:
Casual 1v1: Traditional chess with gothic flair.
Carnage 2v2: Two teams battle on a massive cross-shaped 14×14 battlefield.
Chaos FFA: Four armies enter. One king leaves.
Power-Ups & Chaos
Nothing stays fair for long.
In Judge Mode, power-ups allow players to:
Steal cards
Sabotage opponents
Manipulate rounds
Twist the Judge's decisions
In Problematic Chess, power-ups allow players to:
Raise fallen pieces from the dead
Swap units across the board
Use special abilities
Remove enemy pieces from the battlefield
Chaos FFA goes even further.
Random world events strike during matches without warning, temporarily changing how the game is played:
Plague: Pieces begin to die across the battlefield.
Blood Moon: Aggressive play becomes more powerful.
Famine: Movement and strategy become limited.
Additional events can completely change the match until the next catastrophe arrives.
Features
Online multiplayer for 2–6 players
Judge Mode and Problematic Chess in one package
Multiple dark-humor card decks
Four unique arenas: Cathedral, Crypt, Blood Moon, and Hell Casino
Three Judge personalities that comment on player mistakes
Secret house rules revealed only after the match ends
Power-ups, chaos events, and match modifiers
Atmospheric gothic visuals, music, and sound design
About the Game
Dark humor. Questionable decisions. Unfair advantages.
Whether you're ruining friendships in Judge Mode or surviving an apocalyptic four-player chess match while the moon turns red and your bishop catches the plague, every game becomes a story worth regretting.
No regrets. No balance. No mercy.

The Hall Keeps Receipts. v1.0.0.4
The Hall of Infamy, RebuiltThe Hall of Infamy has been completely redesigned. The same three leaderboards, name controls, personal standing, and refresh button remain, now arranged like an actual cursed ledger instead of paperwork discovered behind a radiator. The leaderboard no longer moves or jitters while you are trying to read it. The dead may wander. The interface may not.Improved text size, contrast, and typography throughout the Hall. Your ranking should be humiliating for its contents, not its legibility.Opening the Hall no longer warps the menu background or causes the rest of the screen to shift strangely. The curse is now contained to the appropriate room. The in-game Hall and the Galactrex website now use the same canonical leaderboard data. They are no longer maintaining separate versions of the truth.Switching between boards remains instant during each visit, while Refresh now properly consults the live ledger again. The Ledger Learned About FraudLeaderboard submissions are now tied to verified player identities instead of trusting credentials that could be extracted from the game.We have stopped leaving the vault key inside the vault.Online results now require matching confirmation from the people who actually played.Hosts can no longer nominate themselves for greatness without a witness. Democracy survives another patch.Rematches now receive unique match records, preventing a new victory from being mistaken for the previous game and quietly discarded.Share My Scores is now genuinely controlled per player. One person opting out no longer silences, or publishes, the entire lobby.Queued leaderboard results are now stored more safely across crashes and multiple running instances.Your victories should survive closing the game, even if your dignity does not.Offline victories against the Hard chess engine no longer submit new global scores. Results generated entirely on one player’s machine cannot be proven trustworthy. The Hard Slayers board remains as a histori...Read full article on Community Announcements (LAND)Patch NotesOfficial
The Ritual Update
The Ritual UpdateThanks for every report since the last patch. We read them all, including the ones that arrived before the cards did. This update gives the front door a proper ritual and closes one more trapdoor beneath online play. The Ritual Has Better Menus NowSUMMON has been completely rebuilt into three simple rites:Choose your gameShape the rulesGather the covenHosting a lobby should now feel less like filing paperwork in a crypt.Room codes now appear inside a proper glowing sigil, while arriving players take their seats around the coven table.Much more ceremonial. Legally still matchmaking.ENTER has received the same treatment.Room-code characters now ignite one by one as you type, lobby information is clearer, and empty space no longer looms beneath the menu like an unfinished basement.VS AI is now THE TRIAL, with proper control over:Your nameDeck selectionPoints required to winNumber of rivalsPower-up frequencyFRENZY has not been sacrificed. It now lives inside THE TRIAL as an actual setting instead of occupying an entire main-menu button. The chaos remains available. It has simply been organized, which it deeply resents.Chess can now be entered through THE TRIAL too, with Easy, Mid, and Hard opponents available from the same screen. The Hall RemembersThe main menu now contains the HALL OF INFAMY, featuring three global leaderboards:Card WinsHard SlayersChess EloThe top three players are displayed beneath stained glass because ordinary leaderboards were not judgmental enough.Card-game players now earn increasingly concerning Infamy titles.Chess players receive rank badges ranging from Certified Blunderer to Vibrating Suspiciously.Personal growth takes many forms.Hard Slayers records victories against the Hard chess engine.Chess Elo remains reserved for summoned player-versus-player duels. The machines cannot be farmed for social status. They have suffered enough.Your claimed Hall name is now remembered across the lobby and Trial screens. You may still change it. ...Read full article on Community Announcements (LAND)Patch NotesOfficial
Stability Update - 1.0.0.3
Problematic v1.0.0.3: The Stability UpdateThanks for every report since launch. We read them all, even the ones written in pure grief. This is a big one.The Card Game: Judge Game-ModeSteal Card now actually steals cards. Previously, it was more of a polite gesture.Power-up announcements no longer pile on top of each other like a séance gone wrong. One dramatic reveal at a time.HAND ME rounds now actually award the double points they promised. The economy of suffering is restored.Dead Weight now punishes losers during dual verdict rounds too. Equality.House Rules now do exactly what their text says. The game was quietly enforcing rules nobody was told about. Very on brand, but now very fixed. The Grimoire now opens about 3 rounds in 10, so a cursed round stays an event instead of a lifestyle. The Problematic Deck is now the default. It is the name of the game. We still don't know why it wasn't.Fixed drawn cards occasionally not showing up in your hand. They were real. They believed in you.Online, HardenedFixed a family of rare freezes where one lost packet could trap the whole lobby in eternal purgatory: Joker rounds, Banishment rounds, Séance and Lottery verdicts, and the reveal getting stuck for one unlucky soul on hotel Wi-Fi. The game now notices missing cards and re-deals them within seconds.Fixed the Rematch button sometimes leaving one player stranded on the end screen, watching, waiting, forgotten. Everyone follows the host into the next game now.Fixed players becoming ghosts to each other after a rough connection. Chat, voice, and card plays could silently vanish. Ghosts belong on the cards.Fixed backing out of a join at the wrong moment leaving you secretly connected to the lobby with a live microphone. Yes, really. Whatever they heard, we apologize.Dozens of smaller reconnection fixes, battle-tested in matches simulated at 20% packet loss, which is to say, worse internet than yours. The Bots Learned MannersBots no longer slam cards down the millisecond a round...Read full article on Community Announcements (LAND)AnnouncementsOfficial
