Spell fast. Rescue the keys.
Tumble Type is a frantic word puzzle with an upward gravity twist. Letter tiles rise from the bottom while a relentless timer pushes the board down toward you — every few seconds, another row appears. Spell words fast to clear space. Lose a golden key tile off the bottom and the run is over.
Stop reading. Start spelling.
Every non-golden letter you submit charges a colored orb meter: red, yellow, or blue. Fill a meter and an ability arms itself in a slot. Then the real game starts:
• Red — Bomb a tile you name, letter-perfect.
• Yellow — Scramble the whole board into fresh letters.
• Blue — Freeze the timer for eight breath-catching seconds.
• Merge them — Combine Red+Yellow, Yellow+Blue, Red+Blue, or all three. Seven total abilities, each one rarer and nastier than the last. All three at once? Fire a rainbow beam that incinerates a column of your choice.
Three difficulties. Three leaderboards.
• Chill — 3 columns, 3 keys to rescue. Great for a coffee break.
• Tough — 4 columns, 4 keys, and less margin for error.
• Gnarly — 5 columns, 5 keys, a metronome of new rows, and a board that does not forgive a wasted turn.
Combo chains and color jackpots
Submit words back-to-back inside a four-second window for a 1.25x combo multiplier that stacks higher and higher. Spell a word where every letter shares one color for a flat 2x color-match bonus. Chain both and watch the score climb.
Daily puzzles, bonus rounds, and a global keyboard
• Daily puzzle — Everyone gets the same board on the same day: a date-seeded race with day-to-day streaks.
• Bonus rounds — Color Rush and Target Word break up the main loop with fresh constraints and fresh payouts.
• Seven languages — English, Spanish, French, Portuguese, German, Italian, and Indonesian, each with its own dictionary and native letter-frequency distribution.
• 22 achievements — Cloud saves that follow you to every Steam PC, plus leaderboards for each difficulty.

• Colorblind mode — Every orb color is paired with a unique shape overlay, so the combo system is readable without relying on color.
• Five color themes — Ocean, Sunset, Forest, Candy, and Monochrome.

• Comfort options — CRT filter toggle, screen-shake intensity slider, optional haptics, and full keyboard controls for mouse-free play.

Tumble Type v2.1.0 — The Big One 🎉 This is the largest update Tumble Type has ever had. The download builds and the browser version are all updated — here's what's new: 🖥️ Native widescreen PC layout. Tumble Type finally looks like it was made for your monitor. Fullscreen 16:9 with live side panels: score, personal best, timer, charge meters, your recent words, active challenge — plus a heads-up for when the next bonus round is coming. It's on by default on PC (including the browser version on desktop). Prefer the classic mobile-style view? One toggle in Options brings it back. 📅 Daily Puzzle, reworked. The daily is now a single focused challenge round with its own goal and twist — and it's the same puzzle for every player, every day. Compare scores fairly, build your streak, come back tomorrow. 🎁 Bonus rounds got interesting. Your first bonus round now always arrives at level 3, then returns every few levels — and there are new round types in the pool: target words, single-color scoring, long-word hunts, frenzy mode, and more. You still can't lose during a bonus round — it's all upside. 📈 Difficulty that keeps up with you. Skilled players told us long runs got too comfortable. The pressure now keeps ramping well past level 30, with a new late-game twist past level 40 — capped where it stays challenging but fair. 🔮 More orb power on harder modes.
