About this game

Build the hands. Break the rules.

Mahjuro is a mahjong roguelite deckbuilder that turns familiar tile hands into unstable scoring engines, with a rule-bending structure inspired by Balatro. Draw tiles, form pairs, sequences, triplets, and kongs, then cash in your growing structure for scores that climb from careful clears to impossible numbers.

Every run pushes you deeper through seven wings of the House. Between chambers, spend your winnings on relics, tile packs, talismans, and zodiacs that twist the rules in your favor. A quiet hand can become a runaway scoring engine if you build it carefully.

Bosses don't play fair. They restrict tiles, twist scoring, and force you to adapt. Break the House's rules before it ends your run.

Inside the House

  • Build hands from pairs, sequences, triplets, and kongs

  • Cash in structures for escalating scores

  • 7 wings, 21 chambers, and 20+ rule-bending ordeals

  • 100+ relics that stack, echo, scale, and sometimes break the game on purpose

  • 15 yaku to unlock, level, and build a run around

  • Tile packs, talismans, zodiacs, and relics to buy between rounds

  • More items unlock as you play

    Out Now: v0.8.1

Hi y'all, Zelda here with a small update to MahjuroThank you for playing Mahjuro. I'm very pleased to have finally released my game and I really hope people enjoy it. I'm already hard at work on my next game but I still have a few more improvements in mind for Mahjuro. As an example, I'd really like to get it running on mobile. Anyhow, if you have any thoughts about Mahjuro, let me know in the discussions.ChangedMemorial remnants now randomly choose from every memorial your defeated run qualified for, instead of always awarding the first matching habit.Losing a run now shows a "Loser!" popup with how many points short you were and the exact reason the run ended.Victory screen stars now scatter more naturally instead of lining up in visible grid patterns.FixedDecimation reveal labels now correctly call out your six chosen tiles and the House's four claimed tiles.Large repeated-tile plays now choose the scoring meld split when Toitoi is available, instead of favoring bigger chunks that miss the yaku.Playing six pairs no longer says "Cash In Time!" early; the structure prompt now waits until the seventh pair.Structure meld previews now resize the existing structure strip too, so committed tiles and incoming preview tiles stay aligned when a play would make the structure shrink to fit.
