About this game
Justice Project is a tycoon and management game about managing a courthouse.
Show your management and architectural talent, or lack thereof, building and managing your very own operational courthouse. Tweak details and decide the position for items from pot plants, to jury boxes.
Stay as a small-town courthouse, handling mundane traffic hearings, or progress to a large-scale courthouse, still handling the mundane, alongside the most high-profile of criminal trials and civil cases. Wherever you end up, balancing case-backlog, budget and reputation will always be top of mind.

You build your own courthouse, exactly how you like it. Expand to a sprawling courthouse on a suburban lot, or expand upwards in a space constrained downtown parcel. Manage the wiring necessitated for an expansion into a technology driven courthouse, or expand endless rooms of evidence shelving to handle everything in a more physical manner.

Balance the case backlog, choose to balance speed and efficiency or the importance of fair and just trials. Some management can be outsourced to your employees, but some cannot. Provide for the needs of both detained defendants, staff, visiting legal teams and spectators. Manage press relations and ensure that privacy is upheld within your courthouse.
Controlling outcomes is not a part of the job, except for the acceptance of the occasional bribe. Watch as your judges and juries hand down verdicts, and the 'cogs of justice' turn slowly through your courthouse.

Courthouse building and furnishing, across multiple floor-levels
Staff hiring, management and training
Proceeding management (including trials, small claims hearings and criminal hearings)
Simulated spectators, witnesses and legal teams
Reputation in the form of public, defense and prosecution/plaintiff reputation.
Progression through 'lobbying', resembling a research mechanic.

The Playtest is now Closed
Thanks for playing the Justice Project Playtest!I really appreciate all the feedback I've received and you can be sure that I will take it into account as I continue to develop the final game and the demo. The demo is planned for release later this year (potentially November but no promises) and the game will most likely be participating in the February Next Fest. The playtest has now been disabled and can no longer be played. Future playtests may open in the future, however, these are more likely to be private and coordinated through Discord or similar.Once again, thank you for playing!Read full article on Community Announcements (Hopeful Pixels)AnnouncementsOfficial

Justice Project Playtest Available Now!
The first public playtest for Justice Project is now available. You finally have the chance to start building your very own courthouse! As this is the first playtest it's important to recognise that this is an early build of the game, and is likely to have bugs and progression problems and a lack of clarity. This is why we test and I strongly suggest you to report any problems you encounter or feature suggestions to either the Steam Discussion Forum or the Discord. For everyone who has already requested access you will be granted access immediately. For new visitors, the signup will remain as "Request Access" until I have verified the build launches and performs as expected on different hardware. The playtest has now been marked as open signup. Players who have requested access should progressively gain access.Building Systems and MechanicsProceeding Management (A largely accurate progression of criminal cases, with a proof of concept for civil cases in the form of small claims hearings)Staff Management (hiring, traits, skill levels)Actions Affecting ReputationSome Progression UnlocksThe game has been tested on very limited hardware and may not perform as expected.Limited optimisation may result in performance issues limiting the size of courthouses to smaller than expected.Bugs are present, I've attempted to fix any game-breaking bugs but they may still be encountered.Depth and realism is still limited.Reputation currently impacts very limited gameplay. The economy may be unbalanced.Auto-save. Please make sure to save often as there is currently no auto-save.The macOS build is not appropriately code signed or notarised (it will be for the Demo and Final Release) as the game is launched by Steam this should not be a problem, but Gatekeeper may block the game from launching on newer versions of macOS.The current plan is for this version of the playtest to be available to play for the whole month until August 30th, with the build expected to be closed at 00:00 UTC on Aug...Read full article on Community Announcements (Hopeful Pixels)AnnouncementsOfficial
Roadmap and a Thank You
Hi Everyone!A big thanks to everyone who has wishlisted the game so far. There's plenty of work being done behind the scenes and I want to share a bit of a roadmap for major milestones and provide a bit more information on the playtest that I've hinted at in a few places. RoadmapWhat to Expect for The Playtest? The playtest is still a very early build of the game, it lacks the depth and realism that I am hoping for in the finished game and even for the demo, however I believe it is at a stage where it is ready to be played. Those that play the playtest have the opportunity to provide feedback at a relatively early stage of development and shape the way in which the game progresses. Here is what will be in the playtest when it is made available to play in early August (not late July as I had originally hoped):Building MechanicsA basic tutorial that takes you through the first stage of the game but is limited in later stages.Staff managementProceedings (including criminal hearings, criminal trials and civil hearings)Actions which influence reputation, however reputation is currently a bit of a toothless tiger and has limited impact on current gameplay. The playtest signup is now live, so if your interested you can request access now and will automatically gain access when it is ready.Again, thank you so much for the support so far.Read full article on Community Announcements (Hopeful Pixels)
