About this game
Roadmap
Everything below is built and running. It opens in stages rather than all at once.
Base Building
About a month away.
Establish your first base with materials from the Laboratory, then build it out with up to eleven modules. Some produce passively while you are elsewhere in the galaxy, others answer on demand, and between them they reach into every part of the game. A base brings new capabilities, new materials, quality of life you will not want to give up, and a line of progression that keeps opening for as long as you invest in it.
Colonization
Roughly a month after Base Building.
Settle the galaxy. Travel out to systems that differ in the economies they support and claim them, then govern what you hold: materials to balance, work queues to keep in motion, resources to direct where they are needed. What your colonies produce returns to you as bonuses.
Dungeons
Early 2027
Instanced runs, undertaken alone or with your squadron on a weekly cycle. Enter, meet the objectives, and carry the rewards back into the progression of your account.
These are estimates, not release dates. Base Building is close, Colonization follows it, and Dungeons is the long one. If something moves, we will say so here rather than quietly let a date pass.

A Galaxy That Grows With Its Players
The galaxy holds nearly 50 million star systems, and most of them have never been visited. Every system discovered by a player joins the persistent universe — adding to a shared map that keeps expanding as long as someone keeps exploring. There's always a frontier, no matter when you arrive.
Idle, but Deep
Battle and gather run automatically with full offline progress — set your activity, log out, and come back richer. Send your Voyager on automated expeditions while you sleep. Crafting and manual exploration reward active play with deeper control and faster progress. Choose your pace.
- Battle — automated combat against a variety of enemies with unique weaknesses, solo dungeons, weekly Squadron Dungeons, and a dedicated PvP Battlefield with its own gear and skills
- Gather — claim resource nodes across planet bodies, asteroids, nebulae, and comets — fully idle
- Explore — chart unknown systems manually for full control, or queue a Voyager expedition to explore while you're away
- Craft — turn raw materials into gear through blueprints, mods, and lab queues, then deepen your build with the Catalyst system
Squadrons: The Heart of the MMO
A Squadron isn't just a chat channel — it's a shared empire.
- Pool member taxes to fund collective infrastructure
- Raise space stations across the galaxy and claim entire star systems
- Upgrade Squadron buildings that grant bonuses to every member
- Share gear through the Armory and equip your team for harder content
- Tackle weekly Squadron Dungeons together
- Compete in the PvP Battlefield with dedicated PvP gear and skills
Endless Progression
- Technology tree — specialize across exploration, combat, gathering, and crafting with Quantum Cores
- Catalyst gear customization — install Catalysts on your equipment to add stat bonuses across multiple categories, mixing and matching for the build you want
- Base building — develop your personal base with passive and active modules, each tied to your body type and granting unique bonuses
- Pets — recruit companions across booster, quality-of-life, and generator slots, leveling them as they fight, gather, and explore by your side
- Solo Dungeons — instanced challenges that spawn on system discovery for solo runs and rewards
- Player-driven economy — full marketplace with price history, rarity hunting, and tradeable premium currency
- Voyager system — automated expeditions that explore the galaxy while you're away
Free to Play
Every system, dungeon, and skill is accessible to free players — no paywalled content, no locked features.
An optional monthly subscription adds quality-of-life features and progression bonuses for players who want them. A premium currency is available for cosmetics and convenience, and is freely tradeable on the player marketplace — committed free players can earn it through gameplay and fund their own subscription without spending.
New Realm, Fresh Start
The Steam realm launches with an empty map. No veteran advantage. No discovered systems. No claimed territory. Every Squadron is a founding dynasty. Every star is uncharted.
The galaxy waits for no one — but it belongs to everyone.

v1.1.2
Your squadron now has a Discord bot There is a new Discord bot you can invite into your own server, separate from the one in the official server. It brings 18 commands covering your squadron, the market, timers and the leaderboards, and it answers about your own squadron even before anyone configures it. Bind a channel with /setup and squadron answers there become public for your members. Subscribe a channel to squadron events with /subscribe, and pick whether it pings the channel with @here. Different channels can take different events. New /exploration command: systems discovered by each squadron member in the last 24 hours, with exploring and Voyager counted apart. Squadrons with 8 or more active members can request a private channel in the official Discord server with /channel-request. /squadron, /leaderboard, /timers, /status and /market now live in the new bot, so the official server needs it invited to keep answering them. Two new wiki articles cover all of it: the official server and the squadron bot. Additions You can now search the whole wiki from the sidebar, and results take you straight to the section that matched. The battlefield map can be filtered by boost type, minimum bonus and tile status. Crafting pet food now grants crafting XP. The public API now returns the bodies of each system on /systems and /journal, and the journal supports paging. Bugfixes Fixed a bug with wiki links opening the First steps article instead of the one they pointed at. Fixed a bug with the battlefield Upgrades tab not loading. Fixed a bug with the chat input being covered by the keyboard on mobile. Fixed a bug with the item description adding up the catalysts of every profile into a single number. Fixed a bug with the quantity in the pet food workbench showing Max: NaN. Fixed a bug with catalysts found by Voyager expeditions and solo dungeon runs not being stamped with the name of who found them. QoL The pet food workbench now has a Max button and a numeric quantity input,...Read full article on Community Announcements (Stellar Odyssey Game)Patch NotesOfficial
v1.1.1
Additions On lasers and probes the Exploring catalyst profile now covers Voyager expeditions too, so one set of cosmic dust catalysts counts for both. The tab reads "Exploring & Voyager", and catalysts already installed in the old Voyager profile will be merged into Exploring after the patch hits. The logs page has a new Activity tab with your whole log history, a free text search over the message and a filter by log type. The system menu in the galaxy map now shows the nearest starter system and its distance, and clicking it centers the map on it. The exploring header cards now show the engine cooldown, so you no longer have to open the galaxy map to check it. The multi-craft screen now shows a chip per XP bonus that applies, and the estimate counts six bonuses it was missing. Chat now has a limit on market links: 5 links per message, at most 3 of them listings, and 20 listing links per hour in Trade. The Trade input shows how much of the hourly budget you have left. Whispers keep the per message cap and have no hourly budget. The public API now returns the caller's squadron rank on /user. Bugfixes Fixed every countdown running on your own device clock, so a device with the wrong time no longer shifts every timer in the game. Fixed a battlefield protection timer that could keep counting on a tile that was no longer protected. Fixed the Date column not sorting in the logs page tables, which also open on the newest row now. Fixed the disabled Teleport button on the squadron space stations list always saying "Not enough credits" instead of naming the real reason. Fixed the teleport price shown on the galaxy map, which read the origin station's portal level instead of the destination's. Fixed an SOS on cooldown reporting itself as sent. Fixed the social card border disappearing after buying premium months. Fixed the buy button and the purchase window showing for profile backgrounds your squadron already owns. Fixed the first unit of a new material received from the mar...Read full article on Community Announcements (Stellar Odyssey Game)Patch NotesOfficial
v1.1.0
PvP Arena is here Battlefield has a new Arena tab from battling level 50. You get a list of rivals close to your rating, 10 attacks a day that reset at 00:00 UTC, and a 12 hour cooldown before you can attack the same player again. Winning takes rating from your rival and losing gives it back. The Arena is purely competitive for now and gives no rewards. Defending costs nothing and does not use your attacks. Every duel is saved with its full replay, and your duel history sits in the Battle Log tab, next to the squadron fights, which now opens for you even if you are in no squadron. The new PvP category in Rankings lists everyone who has fought at least one duel. Catalyst profiles Every crafted item now holds one set of catalyst slots per activity, so the same ship can be geared differently for battling, exploring, crafting, voyager, dungeons and the galaxy boss. You pick the profile from the install screen, and each item only offers the profiles its category can actually use. A profile you leave empty falls back to that item's Default one, so nothing changes until you decide to split something: leave the engine on Default, give the sensors a Voyager profile, and an expedition reads both at once. The two-of-the-same-stat cap is counted inside a profile, so the same slot stays free in the others. The stats panel groups by profile and shows the rest as differences against the Default, and the wiki has a new Catalyst profiles page with a worked example. Additions The premium store now sells extra inventory slots in the Actions and miscellaneous section, at one stellar token each: items up to 500, blueprints up to 500 and catalysts up to 1000. You can now hold several squadron invites and applications at the same time, and a new My invites tab lists them all with Accept, Decline and Cancel on each row. Chat settings has two new toggles that pick a random name color and a random icon from the ones you own on every message you send. Ship parts now show who crafted them and ...Read full article on Community Announcements (Stellar Odyssey Game)Patch NotesOfficial

Bugfixes Fixed your own chat messages disappearing from your screen while everyone else still saw them. Fixed not being able to start a fight against an NPC while your clones were fighting it in another system. Fixed the sidebar staying expanded over the page after changing monitor or resolution. Fixed the best offer in the create order dialog showing an unformatted price.Read full article on Community Announcements (Stellar Odyssey Game)Patch NotesOfficial
v1.0.10
Additions New players now start with a normal weapon blueprint in their inventory. The crafting page has a guided tour that walks you through the categories, your blueprints, where new ones drop and what metal scrap is for. The inventory has filters and sorting. Filter items, catalysts and blueprints by rarity, level, value, stats and flags, stack several rules on top of each other, and sort by any of those fields. Mass lock and unlock now work on blueprints too. New trade orders now fill on the spot against the reciprocal orders already resting in the book, so a copper for carbon order and a carbon for copper order cross each other as soon as the second one is created. A trade order that fills the moment you create it now tells you so, with your resources updated on the spot. Creating a trade order that mirrors one you already have open is now refused, since two orders from the same player never cross. The build optimizer is open to everyone Find optimal build is no longer a subscription feature. Every player can run it, and each run costs one stat reset, the same counter a manual reset spends, so without a subscription that is five a week. Premium now buys unlimited runs. The cost is taken when you hit Calculate, and recalculating stays free until you apply a build, so re-rolling the search never costs you a second reset. QoL The system discovery dialog now lists every cosmic dust bonus the server applied, including the exploring skill, your pet, your catalysts and premium. When a squadron tax applies, the discovery dialog now shows the untaxed total, the tax rate and the share that comes from the Roller pet. Bugfixes Fixed the cosmic dust breakdown after discovering a system not adding up to the dust you received. Fixed the lake of tranquility profile background not showing on your profile. Fixed the chat icon and chat name previews not matching the cosmetics you have equipped. Fixed the profile stat cards breaking out of their grid with long experience values.
