About this game

Desk Space is a space-themed incremental game designed to live on your second monitor. It is intended to be a curated experience offering roughly 5 hours of active gameplay, where each prestige, especially the second and beyond, adds new complexities to the world. The game also has an endless mode where players can keep growing their fleet and make money infinitely and buy new mastery upgrades.

Fleet Automation: Buy and monitor hundreds of ships that slowly take over all of space and make you richer

Faster, better, stronger: Upgrade ships to be more efficient, get better prices, or haul more. Or blow all your money on the stock market.

Always on Top: Desk Space is also made to live on your second monitor or your screen corner as you work, game or do something else. Pin to your desktop (or go fullscreen) and watch your empire grow while you do "more important" things.

Space is big: Go further out in space and discover new wares, rare ores, secrets.. and dangers.

Space synergy: Unlock and experiment with upgrades and ship types to find synergies and new ways of making that sweet money

Endless Mode: After the campaign, or at anytime you chose, endless mode lets you play and prestige infinitely. Raising the players rank unlocks new exclusive upgrades allowing more efficient ways of making more money!

Patch v1.5.0 - Time for Expedition!

Hello captains!A fun patch for you guys today. Expedition RefactorOne piece of feedback that has consistently been brought to my attention is that expeditions lose their value quite quickly as you progress your fleet of ships. This patch refactors expeditions to make them useful for longer. The main change is that rewards are now based on your currency generation per second per ship. When you send ships out, they will gain roughly what they would generate passively if you left them idle. The kicker is that there is a multiplier that grants a bonus if they survive, and with the new mastery system, you can build upon this multiplier.Additionally, you can now unlock buffs! Because rewards are based on the specific ships you send, sending freighters yields metal, sending traders yields credits, and sending miners yields ore. A successful expedition now also grants a timed buff to the rest of your fleet.Overall, this is a complete revamp that adds another tool for making money and XP, sitting alongside the stock market, mining, and trading. Everything ElseDuring the last few weeks, we have added so much to the game:Endless modeMastery upgradesCinema modeNew pirate logicRefinery refactorRebalanced overall economyTutorialsUI changes and tons of bug fixes It is not a brand-new game, but it is different, more fleshed out, and more polished. This is all thanks to you and your feedback. The average playtime has also gone up by almost an hour, which is amazing, and I can see more and more of you moving into the 20+ hour milestone.A big thank you for playing, commenting, and sharing with your friends.Until next time... Patch v.1.1.3 - Various fixes and QoL

Thanks for the great feedback on cinema mode, I'm glad you guys loved it :)!Smaller-ish patch for you guys today, focusing on some bugs and QoL changes. All upgrades now calculate requirements from your effective amount of ships (meaning superships values are now correctly calculated and they are not just 1 ship anymore)Pirates were leaving infinitely drawn ship trails that never disappeared if you had max speed, this is now fixedVarious localization fixes such as station titles and consistency between fleet command and engineering panelRank ups now show the number of the rankDrone Refinery now has a slider in the Refinery Command letting you split your ore/metal productionMasteryGame now calculates how many points you should have on game load and refunds any missing onesThere were situations where if you invested in upgrades I removed/split/moved those points would be goneGame correctly saves and loads all upgradesEnjoy! Let me know what you think on the forums or on Discord. Until next time, SEE YOU IN SPACE, CAPTAINS!

    v1.1.2a "Absolute Cinema (mode)"

New patch for you space captains!Main attraction here is a new idle/cinema mode. If you let the game idle for 2 min the game will fade out its HUD, zoom and pan, and follow random ships around. It is perfect if you want to use it as a screensaver or background visual during the day, or while waiting for resources to generate. You can also toggle this on and off in the settings.I also changed some pirate behavior to make them more useful and bounties more plausible + some expedition ui improvements.Changelog:Cinema ModePiratesPlayer Pirates now match enemy pirates' speed to be able to catch up to them.Player Pirates can now attack enemy pirates that are raiding; previously, these could not be targeted. You can now rescue civilian ships.More consistent resolutions in battleExpeditionsMinimum ships is now 1 and not 0Slider don't reset if a new ship is boughtNumbers are now text input if you want to type in how many ships you want to sendNote: these are UI QoL, some more systematic changes to expedition is coming laterBug: Nano Drone prestige updated correctly updates it's UI now for ore/sPerformance: Nano drones' glow and shaders turn off at low zoomUI: Metal amount moved from Refinery Command to Fleet Command. All resources are now collected in one place, and you can see your metal before unlocking refineries (e.g., from expeditions or bounties).Let me know what you think in the forums or on Discord! It makes me so happy that more and more of you are enjoying the game, the improvements are all thanks to you and the feedback you have provided.SEE YOU IN SPACE, CAPTAINS!Edit 2026-07-24: Hotfix. v1.1.2aThere were some bugs that crashed the game with wormholes and cinema mode.Wormhole portal rendering optimization to avoid crashing at large ship amountsCinema Mode toggle now actually works (lol)Prevent edge case where game would soft-lock if the camera decided to follow a pirate that was trying to chase a freshly spawned civilian

    Patch 1.1 "The Endless one!"

We’ve got a banger today, folks!I’ve updated the game with the first iteration of Endless Mode. The number one piece of feedback was that you wanted to keep playing after the game was "done". I hope this mode is a good first step in addressing that request. It's relatively small/simple but a good foundation.Endless Mode is unlocked by either:Beating the Campaign (the first run of the game).Selecting it when starting a fresh save.Entering it via the settings menu.Choosing any of these options resets your progress to loop 0, but you can now keep growing forever. There is a new Mastery bar in your fleet command that progresses as you play. Each level-up grants a mastery point to spend in the new Mastery Matrix, which features 17 new incremental upgrades (some with multiple effects) that impact most parts of the game (including the stocks!) to create synergy between different systems. For each Singularity, you gain a multiplier to your experience gain. You can stay in your current loop to build out your fleet, play the stock market, or watch your ships, or you can reset to start over. Each loop increases your XP gain rate, but also makes corruption slightly harder to cleanse. It’s simple for now, but provides a meaningful "numbers-go-up" feel. If you enjoy it and keep playing, we can build it out further together with more ideas! There are also a bunch of other changes and fixes. See the changelog below:ENDLESS MODE & GENERAL CHANGESENDLESS MODE: Note that some upgrades like ShipAGI and Wormholes are turned off/repurposed in this modeYou will now gain experience to a new mastery bar. Leveling up grants you a prestige point which you can spend on the new upgrades.Level requirements scales, every time you trigger singularity you gain a multiplier which makes leveling easier. The idea is that you build fleets and when you feel like you want more experience you trigger and start over. Numbers go up!Every prestige makes corruption and black holes slightly harder to cleanse. Bl...
