About this game

ROBOSCAV is a turn-based extraction RPG where you play a genius engineer that was shot down while exploring the galaxy. You now must lead your remote controlled droid crew into danger to scavenge and rebuild your ship to escape the planet.

Crash-landed on a hostile world your ship completely destroyed to scraps, your remaining droid crew has only one path forward: scavenge, survive, rebuild.

Resources are limited. Repairs are expensive. Some upgrades compete for the same materials needed for ship reconstruction.

Strip your enemies for every part they have if you want to survive!

Your scavengers are machines, and machines can be rebuilt.

Swap out limbs, chassis components, utility modules, and combat systems to shape each droid for a specific role.

Create durable frontline units, fast blade wielding samurai specialists, long-range snipers, or experimental hybrids built around risky strategies and  alien tech.

As you progress, you'll gain new fabrication blueprints, find rare materials, and unlock more advanced ways to modify your robots permanently.

You aren't the only one on this planet. Warring factions fight for dominance to control the planet. Alien creatures make this planet their home. The SCAV, or local plant life even have become sentient and come with a hatred for all things.

The more you make your presence known you will attract unwanted attention.

Eventually you will be hunted during your raids.

Your ultimate goal is simple: rebuild your ruined spaceship and escape the planet, but why stop there?

You can decide the fate of this world. Certain powerful factions have plans of their own, you could ally with them, or exploit their weakness.

  • Class System: There are class chips that can be installed as well, that greatly increase the chance of survival and builds can be created.

  • Body Part System: Most body parts have attachment slots, that allow you to customize each part with new stats and even new abilities.

  • Barter Economy: Scrap is your currency. Traders will also sometimes have barter trades for other useful items. Every item has a purpose.

  • Quests and Main Story Line: Do quests to learn more about the planet, and discover the secrets as to how to escape the planet,

  • Transits: The world can be traversed completely by foot, no need to extract each raid.

  • Item Upgrading: If you have the fabrication recipe for the item, you can create a upgrade project that will allow you to modify the stats of every future craft for that item.

  • Presence System: Every map will have a presence meter that grows as you make noise or destroy your enemies. This attracts attention from the local military which will increase military patrols and tougher enemies will spawn, and some will even be looking for you.

  • Ship Systems: Your ship is completely destroyed, as you upgrade it you will find there are many modules that can actually assist you while surviving. This can include increased cargo hold space, improved fabrication recipes, better SCAV loadouts. etc.

Demo is Available + What's New

Hello Everybody!Today is the launch of the steam demo, there is a separate demo page to leave reviews as well. But the main purpose of this update is to go over some new things that I added to the game. Class Chip Rework:Classes are now going to be chosen at the start of a raid, instead of having individual chips you need to manage. The reason I did this is because managing all the separate chips was going to get out of hand, and also didn't work well with the Data Extractor feature I was planning on adding. In the future there will be a way to make Custom Class Chips, that you will be able to change what abilities are unlocked and what abilities you can choose as well, and everything will just work a lot better if the Class Chips are given to you at the beginning of each raid on your main character. This still means you lose all progress on the Class chip on death like before, but with the bonus of you not having to psychically replace the chip, which will slightly help if you are having a bad loss streak. Also the class select screen has some of the future classes that I plan to add as well. But none of them are available in the demo as of now, except the soldier. Data Extractor:The Data Extractor will allow you to reset your class chips progress, and in return you get a valuable end game currency called "Training Data"Training Data will be used for a lot of unlocks and crafts as well as letting you do higher level weapon / armor, and eventually class chip upgrades. This feature is still in development so as of writing this Training Data has no uses. This will hopefully make some interesting choices for the player to risk their high level class chips level by potentially dying and losing all their progress, or cashing it in with the data extractor to get permanent upgrades. Extracting at higher level rewards much more Training DataLab:The Lab is also in development so it's not available in the demo as of writing this. The Lab is a capstone module to allow you to un...

    Big Art And Polish Update

Hello Everyone,This is my first announcement on the steam page for ROBOSCAV ːsteamhappyː. But anyways, For the last 2 months since the store page announcement, I have been working with an artist to replace or removed all the AI art assets from the game. Plus a lot of polish changes.Originally I was going to make these art changes throughout the development of the game, but realized that it would just be a better strategy in general to removal it all in one big push. There will also not be any future use of AI art in the game, even if they are placeholders or for development. With this update, the entire store page needed to be changed, including a new trailer, GIFS, and screen shots. Here are some examples of the before and after. The artist I have been working with did this one.
