Pre-Release Development Notice
Aetheris Core is currently in final pre-release development ahead of its planned October 2026 launch. The current development and platform-review builds are labeled “Beta Build” while final balancing, polish, localization refinement, and bug fixes are completed. These beta builds are not being offered for sale; the public launch will use the release build. The free demo is available now. Full-game builds include an Import Demo Save option so you can bring your demo progress forward.
Aetheris Core is a fast-paced top-down sci-fi bullet-heaven roguelite about building a ship powerful enough to survive the chaos on screen—then proving that build against bosses that fight back.
Choose a pilot, combine attack abilities, upgrades, and relics into a focused strategy, dodge escalating patterns, and adapt to random events and Unstable Rifts where movement matters as much as damage.
Enter Unstable Rifts
Open focused trials that compress the pressure of a full run into one to three boss-dense fights. Choose a Rift loadout, take on gauntlets and special encounters, and earn rewards for mastering challenges that bend the normal rules.Build The Run Around Your Choices
Start with a pilot-specific ship and turn every level-up and relic pickup into a build decision. Stack attack speed, beams, area control, shields, sustain, void effects, and other synergies until a fragile starting weapon becomes a screen-clearing strategy.Bosses With Real Mechanics
Face agile duelists, summoners, multi-part constructs, arena-control fights, and late-game set pieces. Read the telegraphs, adapt to phase changes, and learn each encounter instead of grinding through a raw stat wall. Your build can make you powerful, but it still has to survive the pattern.
Hard Mode Changes The Fight
Hard Mode remixes encounters instead of simply increasing health and damage. Expect altered behavior, tighter punish windows, new hazards, faster pressure, retaliating objectives, and variant attack patterns that demand a different solution.Random Events Change The Battlefield
World events interrupt the usual flow with new hazards and opportunities. Adapt your movement, targets, and priorities as the battlefield changes around the build you planned.
Pilots, Ships, And Starting Styles
Each pilot brings a distinct ship identity, base stats, starting tools, and progression path. Lean into speed, shields, sustain, precision beams, void effects, heavy survival, or specialized multi-ability openings, then adapt the run around what you find.
Grow Stronger Between Runs
Return with Aether Seeds to unlock permanent upgrades, new pilots, more options, and cosmetic pilot and ship skins. Push deeper, master harder variants, and uncover multiple endings as the Core opens up.Inside The Core
- Attack abilities and upgrades designed to combine into focused strategies
- 50+ relics that redirect runs and complete powerful synergies
- Multi-phase bosses and Unstable Rift trials with mechanics to learn
- Hard Mode variants with altered behaviors, hazards, and patterns
- Distinct pilots and ships with different starting tools

Update 0.46: Endless Protocol
Endless Protocol Update 0.46 is an integration-focused patch with one new way to stay in the fight: Endless Mode. It also connects Aetheris Core's achievements and activity to Steam, adds optional Discord Rich Presence, makes dynamic relic effects easier to read, and includes a focused balance and reliability pass. No save reset or refund is required. Existing saves continue automatically. Endless Mode Defeat the final Tier 4 boss on a full-game save to unlock Endless in the Hangar. Choose Normal or Endless before launching with any unlocked pilot. No finish line: Endless has no major-boss schedule or victory state. Normal run modifiers are ignored so every pilot enters the same survival ruleset. Six-minute escalation: Enemy composition and battlefield density ramp through the normal-run phases before the Threat Protocol activates. Threat then rises every 15 seconds, increasing enemy durability and outgoing damage while accelerating mini-boss pressure. Bank rewards in the field: Collect Endless Caches to save Aether Seeds, Trial Sigils, and Mastery Sprouts immediately. Collected rewards remain yours whether the run ends in defeat or through End Run. Keep building: Timed relic boxes draw from both field and generic boss pools. Once upgrade or relic choices are exhausted, overflow levels and boxes convert into additional currency. Challengers return: Duelist Challengers begin appearing at Threat 20 and return at increasingly tight randomized intervals. Defeating one deploys a bonus cache. The battlefield stays alive: World events continue on an Endless schedule, and a non-repeating music rotation draws from normal battle, character, and boss themes. Track the run: A dedicated Threat HUD shows survival time, the next cache, and each pilot's best record. Results and Run History preserve Threat, caches, overflow, rewards, and whether you chose to end the run. Endless Mode is exclusive to the full game. Update 0.45: Five New Rift Encounters
Update 0.45: Signals in the Rift Five new encounters are transmitting from the Unstable Rift. The full game gains three new bosses, five Special Encounters, and five first-clear pilot skins. Parallax Harrier also joins the regular Tier 3 boss rotation. Both the full game and demo receive new progression and build options, combat and interface improvements, and a major translation quality pass across every supported non-English language. No save reset or refund is required. Existing saves continue automatically. An Ancient Signal in Normal Runs Late in a full-game run, Eidolon Recursion may override the battlefield. Its arrival shelters the pilot inside a moving triangular field, then erases the active wave with an arena-spanning blast. The ancient machine offers three responses: take a three-question Aetheris lore audit, leave peacefully, or declare hostility and challenge Eidolon as an optional superboss. Each correct audit answer banks 20 Aether Seeds, while a perfect audit awards 100 total. Defeating the optional challenge drops three relic boxes, beginning with a guaranteed Legendary box. Leviathan and Eidolon occupy separate intervals between the late bosses. Either can arrive first, and both can appear during one run, but they will not stack into the same interval or arrive back-to-back. Five New Special Encounters Every new encounter costs one Trial Sigil and supplies a fixed Overdrive Lattice loadout. Four begin at level 28, while The Final Duel begins at level 23. Parallax Exile Face the new Parallax Harrier with its complete Hard-mode lance walls, intercept passes, sentries, and arena denial. At 75%, 50%, and 25% health, the Harrier banishes you into a parallel arena and suspends the normal fight. Survive escalating sequences of 15, 20, and 25 lance walls to return. Outside exile, faster wall trains and paired Pulse Sentries keep the pressure high. Parallax Harrier also enters the full game's normal Tier 3 boss rotation, where its moving gates, chained pas...Read full article on Community Announcements (damedame)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 0.44: Helix Containment Breach & UI Overhaul
Update 0.44: Containment Breach Update 0.44 brings a new full-game Rift challenge and a broad set of improvements across Aetheris Core. The full game gains Helix Containment Breach, a new Hard special encounter against the Helix Quarantine Array, plus the Containment Warden skin and two additional Run Modifiers. Both the full game and demo receive the game-wide interface overhaul, redesigned AoE Size progression, combat fixes, visual updates, and general polish. No save reset or refund is required. Existing saves continue automatically. New Full-Game Trial: Helix Containment Breach The Helix Quarantine Array is a stationary research platform that has turned its own containment systems into a weapon. This is a focused damage race: the longer the fight continues, the less safe space remains. Enter a new level 28 Hard special Rift Trial for one Rift Sigil. Fight with the fixed Overdrive Lattice loadout. Avoid permanent, expanding ooze zones that arrive more frequently in later phases. Read escalating suppressive-cannon fire, larger homing-missile volleys, temporary sterilization fields, and a full-axis core blast. Homing missiles now use a close-range proximity fuse, keeping their detonation timing visually readable while preserving the larger explosion radius. First clear unlocks Containment Warden, a new pilot and ship skin for Kael. Repeat clears award 225 Aether Seeds and 18 Mastery Sprouts. Helix Containment Breach is exclusive to the full game and does not enter the normal boss rotation. Game-Wide UI Overhaul 0.44 establishes one clear interface language across the Main Menu, Core, progression screens, Rift, Archive, pause and results screens, gameplay HUD, and primary in-run overlays. The goal is consistency and readability rather than making every screen look identical. Rebuilt screen hierarchy makes primary actions, supporting options, utilities, locked states, persistent selections, and current focus easier to distinguish. Cool navy surfaces and cyan structur...Read full article on Community Announcements (damedame)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 0.43: Heart Tree Reforged & Leviathan Rising
Update 0.43 is now live! Update 0.43 is now available for both the full game and demo. This is one of our largest updates yet. The centerpiece is a complete rebuild of the Heart Tree, designed to improve the early game and make long-term builds much easier to understand and plan. The old global Core Level tax is gone, progression is now divided into four distinct trees, and early upgrades are more accessible. Because the structure and economy have changed so substantially, every repeatable Heart Tree upgrade has been reset and fully refunded. Existing saves migrate automatically, and no invested Aether Seeds are lost. Beyond the Heart Tree, 0.43 introduces the optional Leviathan Battlecarrier superboss, two new special Rift Trials and two new skins, a redesigned Ultimate, 12 new relics, major pickup improvements, boss balance and presentation updates, and another broad late-game performance pass. Important: Heart Tree Reset & Full Refund Existing saves migrate automatically the first time they are loaded in 0.43. Every repeatable Heart Tree upgrade has been reset. Every Aether Seed spent on those ranks is returned, including a reconstructed refund for the old global Core Level tax. Owned one-time upgrades - including the Core Jukebox, Permanent Relic Box, and Hidden Potential - remain unlocked. The Core displays your exact refund after migration. You do not need to delete or restart your save. This reset gives everyone a clean opportunity to rebuild around the new trees without losing any permanent currency. Heart Tree Reforged The Heart Tree has been rebuilt into four separate paths: Attack: Damage, Attack Speed, Critical Chance, and Critical Damage. Defense: Max HP, Shield, Evasion, and Damage Reduction. Utility: Move Speed, Pickup Radius, XP Gain, Regeneration, and AOE Size. Special: Aether Seed rewards, Mastery Sprout rewards, the Core Jukebox, Permanent Relic Box, and Hidden Potential. The new Heart Tree includes 61 nodes and 811 total ranks across its four pat...Read full article on Community Announcements (damedame)Patch NotesOfficial
Update 0.42: New Rift Trials & Boss Refinements
Update 0.42 is now live! Update 0.42 expands the Unstable Rift with two special boss encounters and new cosmetic rewards. It also makes early permanent progression friendlier, refreshes several enemy visuals, and improves the fairness and readability of multiple late-game bosses. New Special Rift Trials Aegis Core Unbound The Aegis Colossus abandons its normal shield cycle. Its core remains exposed throughout the fight while its invulnerable hands attack at Rift speed. First clear: unlocks Rift Rally Captain for Najko. Repeat clears: 180 Aether Seeds and 14 Mastery Sprouts. Gemini Discord Alpha and Beta now attack on independent rhythms—and a third Warden joins the battle when one of the original Wardens reaches half health. All three must be defeated. First clear: unlocks Meadow Breeze for Reina. Repeat clears: 210 Aether Seeds and 16 Mastery Sprouts. Progression Improvements Heart Tree costs now scale more gently with Core Level. The first 10 Core Levels add no additional level-based cost, with later increases ramping in gradually. The first four Core Goal rewards now grant 30, 60, 70, and 125 Aether Seeds, increased from 20, 50, 50, and 100. Boss Balance & Readability Starforge Core: Overload now triggers after satellites survive for 18 seconds instead of 22 and uses three distinct denial-ring patterns. Normal difficulty cycles through them, while Hard difficulty selects them unpredictably. Telegraphs and ring boundaries have also been improved. Sentinel Ophion: Its ultimate beam is 20% shorter on Normal. Contact damage, venom pressure, and several attack cadences have been eased. The Hard finale now begins later and uses smaller zones. Aegis Colossus: Hands now deal contact damage only during active attacks. Hard fissures provide more player clearance, and their damage paths more accurately follow their visible curves. Visual, UI & Localization Polish Refreshed the Bomber, Brute, and Flanker enemy sprites. Added complete portrait and ship artwork for the two new...Read full article on Community Announcements (damedame)
