Joy Malignant is a short, surreal dice-based RPG where your past is a tool. In a cursed city filled with suffering, your past shapes your skills and your appearance. Survive the city's hellish trials, meet tortured characters, and develop your own unique indentity. Every choice matters as your actions will literally shape you.
Everyone wears their past on their sleeve. Except you.
In Visceria, your appearance is shaped by your past. As a faceless, your past has been erased. Through surviving in this hellish city, you will meet characters and make choices that will shape you, developing your personality, appearance, and abilities.
Dice Based Dread
Manage your resources, use dice to perform actions, and play to your personality's strengths to survive in the city. Do what you must to survive, and try not to lose yourself in the process.
Mosaics of Suffering
Everyone's appearance is shaped by their past. Meet tortured characters and analyze their history by seeing their Mosaic, then use it to your advantage.
Your Choices Shape You
Your mosaic starts out empty, then is shaped by your experiences. As you make choices, you will gain more parts of yourself. This will afffect your stats and abilities, as well as your appearance. Be careful, you can't change the past after its happened!
A Museum Of Agony
Life in Visceria is twisted and painful, especially for a faceless like you. Try to hold onto your sanity while frequenting dirty ruins, slaughterhouses, decrepit bars, bloody hospitals, and more.

ControlsSince Joy Malignant is entirely playable using only a mouse, the game is intuitively playable start to finish on the Steam Deck using the trackpad. Controller support without usage of the trackpad is not currently in place, but might come post-launch if sufficient demand is there.PerformancePerformance on steam deck is identical to most PCs, as the game is not graphically demanding.
