About this game

Scriptura is a Bible typing game. Type through every chapter from Genesis to Revelation — verse by verse, word by word, character by character.

Type the Word

Follow along as each verse appears on screen. Type what you see. Errors highlight in red; correct keystrokes advance the cursor. When you finish a chapter, your stats are saved and the next one unlocks. Pick up where you left off any time.

33 Translations, 26 Languages

Choose from 33 Bible translations across 26 languages — now including the complete Hebrew Bible (the Westminster Leningrad Codex paired with the Delitzsch 1892 Hebrew New Testament) and the Japanese Bungo-yaku, alongside English (WEB, KJV, BSB, and more), Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Italian, Russian, and many others. The interface supports 28 languages, now including Hebrew and Latin.

Daily Passages & Streaks

Each day brings a new curated passage. Complete it to build your streak. Over 200 passages from Psalms, Proverbs, the Gospels, and more keep your daily practice fresh.

11 Hand-Crafted Themes

Every theme features an animated shader background and a full set of colors designed for comfortable reading. From warm parchment to cool starfields, find the atmosphere that fits your mood.

Track Everything

See your words per minute, accuracy, total time, and per-key error rates. The key fluency chart shows exactly which keys give you trouble so you can improve over time.

79 Achievements

Complete individual books, type your first chapter with zero errors, build a year-long streak, and more. All achievements sync with Steam.

Built for Focus

Ambient music, adjustable font sizes, strict or forgiving typing modes, verse-by-verse or chapter-at-a-time pacing. Customize the experience to match how you want to engage with the text.

Six New Bible Translations Are Now Available

Thank you for asking for more Bible translations in Scriptura. I know how meaningful it is to type in the translation you know and love. Today, I’m happy to share a first wave of six additional translations, available free with the base game: • Chinese Contemporary Bible, Simplified • Chinese Contemporary Bible, Traditional • Nueva Biblia Viva, Spanish • Nova Bíblia Viva, Portuguese • New Arabic Version • Vietnamese Contemporary Bible These translations are available under licenses that allow Scriptura to include them while preserving the required attribution and sharing terms. You can find the source, license, and attribution information at scriptura.games/sources. Adding a translation is not as simple as finding the text online and placing it in the game. Every edition has its own copyright, permissions, and distribution terms. Because Scriptura is a commercial game, I need to make sure each translation can be distributed properly before I include it. I’m continuing to research and pursue additional translations. I cannot promise a specific translation or timeline until licensing is confirmed, but your requests genuinely help me understand what matters most to the community. Please keep sharing the translations you would most like to see. Thank you for your patience, your support, and for helping Scriptura grow.

Dead Sea Scrolls DLC launches July 3

A buried shelf of the library opens next Friday.Scriptura: Dead Sea Scrolls launches Friday, July 3, 2026 at 9:00 AM EDT, adding four ancient Second Temple works to the typing library. These are not part of the standard Bible canon; they are texts around the edges: apocalyptic visions, rewritten history, community discipline, and psalms from the world of Qumran.Included in the DLC:- 1 Enoch- Jubilees- Damascus Document- Qumran PsalmsIf you already play Scriptura, this is a new kind of reading path: stranger, more historical, and closer to the desert manuscript world than the base game’s core texts. If you are new, it is a focused way to experience these works slowly, one word at a time, with the same quiet typing loop that defines Scriptura.Wishlist the DLC now from the Coming Soon store page. It releases at $4.99 USD, with a 10% launch discount for the first 14 days.Thank you for playing, wishlisting, and helping Scriptura keep growing.
