About this game
Reel & Deal is a single-player fishing roguelite where every trip is a high-stakes puzzle. Read the weather, choose the right method, pair it with the perfect bait, and turn a few precious casts into profit while bosses, challenges, and strange waters keep rewriting the rules. Catch 100+ fish species from waters around the world, chase rare variants and valuable qualities, and make every cast count.
Each run is a careful balance of planning, risk, and reward. You only get a limited number of casts and discards, so every decision matters. Adapt to shifting weather, dangerous destinations, and unexpected events that change the fish pool, raise the stakes, and force you to rethink your strategy on the fly. A smart setup can turn an average trip into a huge payday, but greed can sink a run just as quickly.
Between trips, spend your earnings in the shop, open packs, collect new bait, gear, and consumables, and shape a stronger build for the waters ahead. Upgrade your boat, fill out your Fish Log and Encyclopedia, take on powerful bosses and optional challenges, and push deeper into the campaign before testing how far your build can survive in Endless mode.

Achievements, New Logo & Smoother Seas
New: Steam Achievements 90 Steam Achievements are now live — from your very first cast to clearing the campaign, defeating every boss, completing the Atlas, landing record catches, and surviving the deepest Endless runs. Lifetime stat tracking now powers your long-term progress. Fresh Look A brand-new REEL & DEAL logo, on the title screen and in your Steam library. Performance Fixed the stutter when landing Diamond (and other high-tier) catches — the catch screen now runs smoothly, no more hiccup. Boss Battles Bosses now unleash their opening-phase abilities as intended (stolen bait, locked slots, burned cards) — phase one is no longer a free ride. The Leviathan's Devouring Maw now actually devours your most valuable catch. The Abyssal Maw's void corruption now drains catch quality as described (it was accidentally improving your catches). Gear, Shop & Economy Gear now lasts its full advertised number of trips; boss-drop gear gets its proper Endless lifespan too. Leviathan's Jaw and Nameless Coin now apply their bonus on your biggest catches (they were being silently capped away). Shop rerolls always return a full set of slots, even when you already own most gear. "Set Sail" no longer skips a trip on a fast double-click. Controller & Keyboard Fixed a navigation soft-lock where the Shop and Fishing screens could become unreachable with a controller/keyboard after certain actions. Endless Mode Deep Endless runs now submit correctly to the leaderboards. Per-catch values now display and record accurately in Endless (they were understated on catch cards and in your records). Stability & Polish Sturdier saves: emergency saves are written atomically, and a corrupted save no longer leaves a dead "Continue" button. Method-less "generic" casts no longer lose the cards you play, and now count toward stats and challenges. Smaller touches: thousands separators in the HUD, consumable refunds on empty waters, a clear prompt for the Siren's bait limit, and more.Read full article on Community Announcements (dierianrigg)Patch NotesOfficial

Endless mode: end your run & record your score, harder late game
Endless mode You can now end an endless run and keep your score. Previously, once your engine got strong enough you basically couldn't lose, and "Forfeit Run" silently deleted everything with no leaderboard entry. There's now an "End Run & Record Score" button (in the pause menu during endless) that ends the run, submits your score to the leaderboard, and shows your final stats. Thanks Krzyak, GLY, and The Aphex Twin for the reports. Endless difficulty ramps up properly now. The per-trip goal was only climbing ~$60-100, which was trivial against late-game earnings. The scaling curve is much steeper now — around 3x higher targets by the deep trips — so endless actually pushes back eventually. Thanks Krzyak and Elriel. The campaign "Forfeit Run" also records your score now, instead of throwing the run away. Balance Consumables now have a hold cap of 5. There was no limit before, so you could hoard a huge stack and trivialize everything. Thanks Krzyak. Nameless Coin nerfed: heads is now x3.75 (was x5.25), tails x0.5 (was x0.3). It was one of the bigger contributors to the "consumables feel OP" problem. Fixes Nameless Coin now shows the same multiplier everywhere. The tooltip said x5.25 but the on-screen coin flip showed x3.75 — the values are now consistent (x3.75 / x0.5) across the tooltip, the coin animation, and the result badge. Thanks Krzyak for catching it. Thanks for all the detailed feedback — it genuinely shapes these updates. Keep it coming!Read full article on Community Announcements (dierianrigg)Patch NotesOfficial
Boss screen, endless mode, locked items — player feedback fixes
Bug fixes from community reports Boss screen "Face the Challenge" button was unreachable when the boss had a long list of passive effects and active abilities — pushed past the bottom of the screen. The button is now pinned at the bottom and always reachable, regardless of how much you scroll. Thanks Elriel and Sordibus for the reports. Endless mode could "swallow" losses without telling you — you'd see a defeat screen but the game would continue, because your endless bank silently absorbed the deficit. Now the bank balance is shown in the top status bar in endless mode, a toast tells you when the bank covers a deficit, and the trip summary correctly reflects whether your bank saved you. Thanks Krzyak for the report. Tier-locked consumables (King's Tribute, Leviathan's Roar, River Map, Runic Inscription) silently failed if you didn't have a high enough boat tier for their required fish. They now show a red "T3+" badge in the fishing screen, and clicking them tells you the exact tier you need. Thanks Sordibus. Upgrade Reel description mismatch — the shop preview said "up to 2 bait cards" but the inventory tooltip said "1 bait card". Code actually upgrades up to 2, descriptions are now aligned across all 11 languages. Thanks Krzyak. Minor UX Boss screen now scrolls with the mousewheel (previously only arrow keys). Pack opening shows hover tooltips for gear and consumable cards — no more digging through the encyclopedia mid-pack. Thanks Hansibit. River Map description corrected from "guarantees 1 Rare fish" to "guarantees 1 Rare+ fish" (matching what the code actually does — Rare or Legendary). Endless mode bank balance is now visible in the top status bar at all times, color-shifts to red as it approaches zero. Thanks for the reports — keep them coming!Read full article on Community Announcements (dierianrigg)Patch NotesOfficial
Pack contents & display accuracy fix
Bug fixes Booster packs were always giving bait — Captain's Chest, Consumable Kit, and Mystery Catch ignored their advertised content type. They now actually contain gear, consumables, and mixed contents. Thanks to Krzyak and Hansibit for catching this. Hitting the trip goal exactly counted as a loss — a rounding mismatch between the displayed wallet ($100/$100) and the underlying check (99.7Read full article on Community Announcements (dierianrigg)
