About this game
Shape Sift
Shape Sift is a minimalist automation puzzle game about separating, transforming, and routing streams of abstract shapes.
Randomized flows of circles and squares pour into your system. Using a collection of experimental tools, you must manipulate shape properties and guide them into their correct collector rings while maintaining purity and flow.
Some shapes are heavier. Some bounce unpredictably. Others must be transformed entirely before they can be collected.
Build systems that:
Separate shapes by color, size, weight, and behavior
Convert circles into squares and squares into circles
Control flow rates and prevent collector contamination
Experiment with physics-based interactions and emergent behavior
Unlock additional feeds and increasingly complex shape combinations
Every layout becomes a balancing act between efficiency, stability, and controlled chaos.
Features
Physics-based shape sorting and automation
Experimental tools including magnets, fans, converters, filters, and flow control devices
Abstract minimalist visual design
Multiple shape properties and interactions
Open-ended problem solving
Increasingly complex shape streams and collector requirements
Can you maintain perfect flow?

Demo update
I've just uploaded a new demo update for Shape Sift. This update focuses on save/load functionality as well as procedural levels.Changes include: • Randomly generated layouts and puzzles to solve • More forgiving collector behavior • Some balance fixes (and 100% certainty of game breaking bugs) • Save/load functionality, so you can save your levels (although don't rely on this too much, it'll probably break in future updates)If you've already tried the demo, I'd love to hear whether these changes improve the experience. Thanks again to everyone who has played, wishlisted, or shared feedback so far. Every comment helps shape the direction of the game.Read full article on Community Announcements (emile.esterhuizen)AnnouncementsOfficial
Hello!
Thanks to everyone who tried the demo so far during the Nordic Games showcase! There are a ton of great games there, I'm making my way through as many of them as I can.The response to the demo has been really encouraging so far, and I’ve already started working on some improvements.Current focus areas:Better onboarding and tutorialsAbility to save & toggle settingsRe-playability (randomized/procedural layouts)Smoother early-game progressionMore visual polish and quality-of-life improvements One major priority right now is making the game easier to understand in the first few minutes while keeping the chaotic physics sandbox feel intact. The game is still early in development, so feedback is incredibly valuable at this stage. If you’ve played the demo, I’d especially love to hear:What confused you? What felt satisfying or interesting?Which tools or mechanics would you like expanded?Where did the game become frustrating? You can also join the Discord if you'd like to follow development more closely and help shape future updates. Thanks again for checking out Shape Sift ...more updates soon!Read full article on Community Announcements (emile.esterhuizen)
