About this game
Collect, cut open, and discover what's hidden inside the stones as you explore new areas, unlock new tools, and build your ultimate collection. Unlock new biomes, improve your garage, and chase increasingly rare finds - the deeper into the game you get, the better the rocks.
Explore rocky fields, meadows, and canyon formations across multiple worlds. Each location has its own set of rocks to find - from humble Quartz to rare, glowing Legendaries. Some rocks are common. Some are shiny. Some you'll only ever find once. Back in your garage, every rock goes on a journey. Run it through the slicer, polish it in the grinder, and watch something ordinary become extraordinary.
Your garage is your home base. Upgrade your machines, unlock new processing tiers, and decorate the space your way - walls, floors, ceilings or even a car. It's yours!
Display your rarest finds on shelves and showcases. Track your stats and chase achievements! Every collection tells a story - this one is yours.

Gameplay Trailer! 🎬 Devlog #2
Devlog #2 - Gameplay Trailer is Here! 🎬Big one today. We've got real, actual gameplay footage to show you for the first time - and if you've been following along since devlog #1, this one delivers on a promise. The trailer is LIVE! 🔴Yep - What's Inside The Rock? now has a gameplay trailer, and it's exactly what it says on the tin: real gameplay, no smoke and mirrors. Rock hunting, washing, cutting, the whole loop, straight from the engine. If you like what you see, this is the part where we ask (nicely) - wishlist the game. Every wishlist genuinely helps us out, and it's the easiest way to make sure you don't miss release news.Remember that swing? 👀In devlog #1, we showed you a swing being modeled and promised you'd see it swinging for real in the next devlog. Here we go!Before the cut: washing your rocks 🧽We also want to shine a light on a step that happens before the satisfying part - cutting a rock open. Not every rock needs it, but plenty of what you dig up comes out of the ground caked in mud and dirt - and those ones make a stop at the wash station first: dunk it, scrub it, rinse it off. It's a small ritual, but it matters - a clean rock reveals its hints more clearly, so a good scrub can genuinely change how you read what's inside before you commit to the cut. What's next?More gameplay is coming as we keep building out the biomes, the garage, and the display cabinet you'll fill with your best finds. For now - go watch the trailer, hit wishlist, and let us know what you think. 🩵See you in devlog #3!Just Pocket Games TeamRead full article on Community Announcements (kvcpi)AnnouncementsOfficial
Hello World! 🩵 Devlog #1
Hello World! 👋It's been a little while since we set up this Steam page for What's Inside The Rock?, and in that time... you happened. A small but very welcome group of followers has already found us before we've even posted a single update, so first things first: thank you for following, and welcome! This devlog series is where we'll be sharing our progress, our experiments, and (eventually) our failures and triumphs as the game comes together. Consider this devlog #1 the official "hello world". 🌎So, what is What's Inside The Rock? 👀At its core, What's Inside The Rock? is about the simple, satisfying thrill of not knowing what's inside something until you open it up - except instead of loot boxes, it's rocks you found yourself out in the world. 🗺️You'll explore different areas, gather rocks with your own two hands, and bring them back to your garage to find out what's really inside. Every rock is a tiny mystery: is it hollow? Is it full of crystal? Is it something rare? There's only one way to know. 🕵️Key mechanics we're building aroundA few pillars are guiding everything we design:The Reveal - before you commit to cutting a rock open, subtle visual hints give you a sense of what might be waiting inside. Reading those hints (and learning to trust them) is part of the fun.The Cut - cutting a rock open is permanent. Get it right and you reveal something beautiful; get it wrong and you might destroy it forever. This is where the real stakes of the game live. The Display Cabinet - your collection isn't just numbers in a menu. It's a physical, 3D display case in your garage that grows and evolves as you find rarer and more impressive specimens - a gallery that's uniquely yours.Gathering - collecting rocks out in the world is a skill of its own, with upgrades that change how, where, and what you can find.Variety - between rock types (plain, shiny, geode), rarities, and sizes, there's a huge combination of possible finds, so no two sessions feel quite the same. We'll be goin...Read full article on Community Announcements (kvcpi)
