About this game

You are the controller.

Radar Identified puts you in command of the upper airspace — the invisible high-altitude highways where hundreds of aircraft cross the continent every hour. Your job: keep them separated, keep them flowing, and get every flight where it needs to go.

Built by real-world air traffic controllers and pilots who wanted a simulation that gets the details right — proper phraseology, realistic climb and descent profiles, trajectory-based conflict prediction, and authentic sector procedures.

This is not a tower game — just a radar scope, flight strips, and the constant hum of radio traffic. You are the en-route controller: guiding aircraft between sectors, sequencing descents into the major airports, and resolving conflicts at 37,000 feet.

Realistic en-route ATC

- Real waypoints, airways and sector boundaries based on real-world ATC procedures

- ICAO standard phraseology — readbacks, callsigns and proper radio communication

- Flight-level management with the semi-circular rule

- Layered conflict tools — STCA (short-term alert), MTCD (medium-term, cleared-level trajectories) and a tactical sector-conflict planner to test your plan before you act

- Inter-sector coordination — landline calls and handoffs to neighbouring sectors and lower airspace

- Emergencies and restricted airspace that reshape your sector on the fly

- Dynamic weather — wind affecting groundspeed, plus storms and weather deviation

- Authentic airline callsigns and aircraft types — from Lufthansa A320s to Emirates A380s

Hear the frequency

- Offline ATC radio voices — pilots and controllers actually speak, with realistic readbacks and the busy chatter of a live frequency

- Voice control (beta) — issue your clearances by speaking, just like the real thing

German airspace: 5 playable sectors

- München (EDMM) — heavy international traffic mixing long-haul heavies with European carriers

- Rhein-Main (EDUU) — busy, compact sector with converging routes around Frankfurt

- Stuttgart (EDMS) — south-west sector close to France and Switzerland

- Erfurt (EDFE) — gateway to eastern Europe

- Gladbach (EDGB) — north-west sector reaching down toward the Dutch and Belgian border

North America: 4 playable US sectors —

Cross the Atlantic and work the US Northeast — Boston, North New York, Athens and Rochester — with authentic FAA phraseology ("climb and maintain", "descend and maintain", and more) and a different control culture from Europe.

Your tools

- Radar scope — aircraft blips with data tags showing callsign, flight level, speed and destination

- Flight strips — accept, manage and hand off every aircraft

- Radial menu — quick flight-level changes, heading vectors and direct-to clearances

- Command line — type ATC commands directly for faster control

- Time control — speed up the quiet periods, pause to plan your strategy

Learn at your own pace

A full handbook with guided, hands-on lessons takes you from accepting your first aircraft to resolving head-on conflicts. No prior ATC knowledge required — and if you're an ATC-sim veteran, you'll feel right at home. Otherwise watch our videos on youtube!

    Small fix update — 0.9602NCM

Hi everyone, A quick round of fixes, almost all of them from your reports. Thanks for the detailed write-ups and screenshots — several of these turned out to have a different cause than it looked from the outside, and the extra detail is what made them findable. Radar & clearances - Revising a climb no longer reads back as a descent. Clear an aircraft to FL360, change your mind and give FL350 while it is still passing FL286 — the pilot answered "Descending to flight level three five zero" although the new level was still well above them. The wording now follows the aircraft's actual altitude. The same mistake in reverse — a descending aircraft re-cleared higher reading back "Climbing" — is gone with it. - The position trail no longer runs over the aircraft symbol. It starts one radar update behind the target, where it belongs. -The clearance menu now opens as a list by default. Prefer the radial wheel? Settings → Controls → Order menu layout. -Automatic label de-overlap is now off by default. It moved your labels around on its own. Turn it back on under Settings → Display if you liked it. Sector selection -Milano (LIMM) can be selected again. Clicking it picked one of the greyed-out neighbouring sectors instead — only a small patch in the south worked. -The traffic setting is visible on smaller screens. On a 13-inch laptop the briefing column ran off the bottom of the window and the traffic selector was unreachable. Weather panel -Text no longer overlaps. A long cloud line ran into the temperature column next to it, and the two footer lines collided. Values that do not fit are now shortened — the full report is always readable in the raw METAR line above. Sound -The pause button pauses the music instead of starting the track over. -In-game music moves on to the next track. It looped the same song forever. -Your volume settings survive a restart. Music came back at half volume after every launch even with the slider at zero. Master volume was affected the same way. T...

    Radar Identified — Update 0.96

Hey everyone,Big update this round — the US West Coast is properly on the map, and the game runs substantially lighter than before.🇺🇸 US West Coast — 4 New Sectors The West Coast airspace has been reworked from the ground up with clean, seamless boundaries. Four sectors are now playable: Seattle Center (Cascade High, Area B West High) and Oakland Center (Oakland North High, Bay/Valley High) — covering Central Oregon down to the San Francisco Bay.Traffic got a serious upgrade too: 100+ new flights including Alaska routes, trans-Pacific long-haul to Asia, Hawaii services and east–west connections that break up the old north–south monotony. Northbound and southbound streams no longer share the same airway — opposing flows now run on parallel tracks a few miles apart.Heads up: West Coast traffic density is still being balanced. Some sectors are busier than intended and not optimised— feedback welcome while we tune it.⚡ Major Performance Boost The game runs noticeably lighter on the CPU. Per-frame cost dropped by roughly 44% (measured with ~200 aircraft in the sector), and waypoint rendering was rebuilt — with the waypoint layer on, 10 fps → 60 fps, holding steady while panning and zooming. Older machines and Macs in particular should feel the difference.🛫 Traffic & Routing OverhaulBackground traffic no longer disappears shortly after entering the sim — noticeably fuller scopes over a full session130 routes that stopped short of their destination now run all the way, supported by 134 new waypointsFlightData Tool - Modify your Routings on the go (e.g. to avoid thunderstorms)📡 Radar, Handoffs & Conflict DetectionCorrect handoff frequencies — resolved live from the aircraft's route, so weather reroutes and directs stay accurateNew FREQ toggle under DISP shows neighbouring sector frequencies at the sector edgesConflict alerts stay alive across sessions — STCA, MTCA and the conflict panel no longer go silent after your first sectorUniform radar target size — heavy aircraft no...

    Radar Identified — Update v0.86R

Radar Identified — Update v0.86R Voice Control Is Live · 4 New Playable Sectors · The Last Big One Before 1.0Hey everyone,The headline first: you can now control your traffic by voice. Plus four new playable sectors, editable flight plans, smarter coordination, far more display customization — and a word on what comes next, because this is likely the last feature update before 1.0.🎙️ Voice Control — Live (Still in Testing) Push-to-talk voice control is switched on. Speak your clearances — climb, descend, headings, speed, direct, handoff and more — and recognition runs entirely offline on your machine: no internet connection, nothing uploaded, your microphone audio never leaves your computer. Train the recogniser for best accuracy. And here's the trick that makes it flow: the mouseover target. When a clearance is recognised but the callsign is hard to catch (some airline names just are), the command goes to the aircraft you're hovering — so you can point at a target and simply speak the instruction. It makes voice control genuinely usable even before you've mastered the phraseology.Voice control is still in testing — feedback in the Discord shapes how it lands in 1.0.🇩🇪🇨🇭🇮🇹 4 New Playable Sectors The sector map grows by four:Koblenz Radar — Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland and the Eifel; dense Rhine-corridor traffic funnelling toward the Frankfurt complexPaderborn Radar (beta) — new German upper sector with overflight trafficZürich — upper sector from FL245Milano — upper sector from FL245Zürich, Paderborn and Milano handle FL245 as the airspace division correctly: lowest usable level FL250, exit levels read right, and the sector below clears traffic to FL240 max. The airspace around the Alps got cleaned up too — a sector-less gap near Alpin is closed, an overlap with Padova is fixed, and Alpin is reachable on the coordination phone from Zürich, München and Stuttgart.🎛️ Way More Customization Your radar, your way — this update adds a whole set of new display options:Targ...

Radar Identified — v0.82 Major Update US Sectors · Reworked Order Menu · Debrief

Hey everyone,This is a big one — the largest update since launch. Here's everything new.🇺🇸 US Northeast Sectors — Early AccessRadar Identified now crosses the Atlantic. The sector picker has a new region toggle (Germany / US Northeast, and the first US sectors are playable on a trial basis: North New York, Boston High, Athens South, Athens North, and Rockdale.Pick a US sector and you get US flight schedules, US callsigns and FAA-style traffic — over 120 new US flights including NE-corridor regionals and KJFK/KLGA long-haul from Emirates, Qatar, Etihad, Korean Air and ANA. The default start time for US sectors is the natural east-coast afternoon bank, with local time (EDT/EST) shown next to the UTC picker.Heads-up: The US sectors are early access. Sector boundaries, traffic density, coord phone and flight plans are still being authored and will keep changing between updates. A clear in-game disclaimer marks the current state. Think of this as a preview you can already enjoy while the data work continues.🎛️ Reworked Order MenuThe order menu has been rebuilt from the ground up:Vertical speed picker — assign a climb/descent rate from ±500 to ±4000 fpm, or leave it as free rate. The pilot reads it back as part of the clearance.EXECUTE button — assemble the full clearance (FL, rate, conditional) before anything transmits.Conditional clearances — "Climb FL300, then proceed direct LOHRE" in a single command. The aircraft executes the follow-up automatically when it reaches the assigned level, and the pilot reads the whole thing in one ICAO-correct transmission.Cleaner DCT & HDG sub-menus — direct-to picker with filter, distance column and a route preview line; heading wheel with L30/L10/R10/R30/INTERCEPT quick-buttons and turn-direction readout.List-mode alternative — prefer a vertical menu over the radial wheel? Switch in Settings, full keyboard navigation included. The menu now stays where you open it instead of drifting with the aircraft at high time scale.🗺️ New Sector P...
